They seem unexperienced with the insurance side of things and how to submit dental claims. I'm not sure if it's a training issue or they just don't take the time to understand. As someone who works in the insurance industry they have told me incorrect things that I know not to be true. Then when I've called to speak to the insurance companies to confirm, they have been just as confused on the information this office has provided. Also, they advertise and welcome new patients but if you are a current patient you often have to be waitlisted for an appointment. Booking 18 months out in order to get in every six months.

Communication: I received an email at 9:19 saying one of my appointments was canceled, but not…read morespecifying which (I was scheduled for a 10:00 massage and an 11:45 facial). No one answered the phone at the clinic (in fact the voicemail message said there was no receptionist, and referred me back to the website), so I left for my first appointment not knowing if it was canceled or not. I arrived about five minutes late, due to the time spent trying to reach someone about the cancellation message. Despite this being the spa's communication error, the massage therapist finished my session several minutes early, so I had about 50 minutes total on the table for a 60 minute session. -Treatment: the therapist used very fast strokes, often with his knuckles/fists, which I didn't find comfortable or therapeutic. When I asked if he could slow down he did so only slightly, and told me if his strokes were slower he wouldn't be able to give me a full body massage (this doesn't make sense to me, having had plenty of 60 minute full body massages with slow strokes). At some point I asked for lighter pressure in a sensitive area and he told me he was "already going light" and that I should just breathe. -product: the massage lotion was some kind of icy/hot or wintergreen which left my skin feeling chilly. I would enjoy this with a table warmer and well tucked in under covers, but neither was the case and I felt chilly through most of the session.

The pain was acute and while trying to help, each of the other passengers, were thinking quietly...oh my god, it's snowing and we have ~10 hours in the car before we reached Seattle...what are we going to do? We called Shuswap Chiropractic in Salmon Arm. The receptionist spoke to Dr. Kristen Coke, conveyed our urgency and she told us to come in. 10 minutes later, we pulled into the parking lot, and we were shown directly into a treatment room. Like on TV, one minute later Dr. Coke came into the room, sat down on the exam table next to my wife and observed how she was holding her shoulder and intuitively knew what to try to alleviate the pain. Two minutes later, the tears stopped, pain was at bay and we were complementing Dr. Coke on her beautiful 80 year wood floors and the free flowing office design. Prior to this experience I didn't think there could be a real Chiropractic emergency, but we had one for sure. Dr. Coke helped us with great expedience, compassion, and expertise. How much do we owe?...No charge. Unbelievable. Writing this now, it brings tears to my eyes. A huge thank you Dr. Coke.
