We were recommended to stop at the history center and I really appreciated learning about the Sunken Gardens. The gift shop is great. There are bathrooms and plenty of parking. Sunken Gardens is not huge, so you can add it other activities. I cannot wait to return.

I usually get on it there, and then walk it all the way over to Armature Works and back. There are always a ton of people either running, walking, roller skating, or hanging out along the riverwalk. I like walking it on both sides and taking in the nature, and getting great pictures. It's probably best to come right at sunset so it isn't so blazing hot. There isn't a ton of shade. My favorite photo spot is walking up one of the bridges and then looking back at the circular Rivergate Tower and the river.

There were hundreds of people along the riverwalk watching the spectacular experience. There were boats decked out with Christmas decor, and music playing to ensure the crowd is entertained! About 100 years old, according to the one employee I asked, the details are incredible, the seats comfortable, the upcoming movies look great...Unfortunately did not have an opportunity to go to the balcony but I was told that's a must do! Downstairs bathrooms/ architecture follows suit. There is a large bar/ concession area, but I did not utilize this amenity. Get there early for parking, just in case ( a few private pay by app lots....). I am unfamiliar with the area, so there possibly are other options.

They commissioned the Artistbrothers to paint the mural, which is a welcome sign into the West Tampa area. The mural resembles an oversized cigar wrapper, a way to give recognition to the area's cigar making history. In the center the words "Welcome to West Tampa" are displayed on one side and "Bienvenidos West Tampa" on the other. The Pier has parking but it gets really busy during weekends so best to park nearby or at one of the parking garages. You will enjoy the walk towards the Pier. The area has many restaurants and bars. There are also family areas like a splash pad and playground for the kids. You will also find a small spa beach for swimming and sunbathing just in front of the Pier. Many walk ways, a park and a market all nearby. The market was closed at night though. Once you get to the Pier you'll get a great view of the bay and beautiful skyline. The Pier has a roof top restaurant called The Teak that has an amazing panoramic view. The St.Pete Pier is the perfect place to enjoy a golden hour and music from all the street musicians.Will gladly go back to visit.

We arrived early so the kids could enjoy the pre-concert fun, and also so we could get a good spot. There was a ton of (free) parking, which was nicer than the downtown park. However, I noticed a lot of broken glass on the ground, which is not an issue at Julian B Lane. There are not a lot of resources at this park as it's not really used outside of functions. The FLO brought in Port-a-Potties and food trucks. Once the sun set, the place was very dark -- no real built-in lighting, a bit of an issue with uneven ground and no paved walking paths. The setting was buggy, but no worse than anywhere in Tampa. The lit up river tower was very attractive at dusk and after dark. Think of this place as a blank slate, but one where you need to watch where you step.

It was built by Virginia Hernandez (Bailey) Tucker (1844-1931). She was the daughter of William James Bailey, a colonel during the Second Seminole War. He was stationed at nearby Fort Brooke in Tampa. Colonel Bailey purchased the land and nearby natural springs in 1855 and made the spring waters available for public use! Upon entry the receptionist checks you in and encourages you to watch the 15 min video prior to exploring. They also have a scavenger hunt to keep you entertained throughout the stroll. The exhibit was very unique and filled with unique history. The museum is very tiny and leaves you wanting more. As large as it appears from the outside, you would think the museum would be congruent. It took us about 30-45 mins to stroll through it, and that included the 15 minute video. Overall it was a good experience.
