Wait times are horrific.. Feel as if the doctors don't respect your time and see you as just another number of the day

My last appt w/ Jessica A was 10/12, I had been a patient of hers for 4-5 yrs. I would never recommend her. She never took me seriously. My last appt was w/ her on 10/12 I went to see her b/c I had bern experiencing pain upon sex. She ran some simple blood tests & did an exam. On my f/u she said there is nothing else I can do for you. She never sent me for an ultrasound.. I knew I was never going back to see her. 4/13 I saw Margaret Cyzeski a gynecologist. She also blew me off (see my yelp review). 3/14 I had surgery to remove my left cyst which was 8cm. I had stage 5 endimetrosis w/ extreme scarring. Lt ovary was removed & so was my uterus. Lt ovary was extremely damaged & could not be saved. I have a cyst & endometrioma in Rt ovary which my new competant gynecologist is trying to control through medication. She did a great job also w/ the surgery.

I scheduled a follow up appointment with her this week after being seen in the emergency room over the weekend. This office is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays hours of 9-5 and it took me two days to even speak with someone from the office. I was being sent to the emergency service DURING BUSINESS HOURS because for some reason they were not answering their phones. I arrived at the office on the day and time of my scheduled visit for them to tell me that they stopped accepting my insurance 6 MONTHS AGO!! although I had an emergency visit around that time and was not notified of any issues. I even called over the phone before arrival to let them know I would be a few minutes late.. again, no one thought it would be beneficial to tell me that my insurance was not accepted. UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Gynemed preforms medication and surgical abortions as well as well woman check ups, sonograms, and…read moreIUD insertion. They are affordable and offer discounts to those who do not have insurance. Several insurances are accepted, including medicaid. Surgical abortions can not be preformed same day as initial appointment. Wait times can be as short as an hour (initial consults or follow ups) or as long as eight (for surgical procedures). Medication is only an option in the first 9 weeks. Many times a pregnancy can not be verified until after 5 weeks. If the medication fails a surgical procedure may be necessary. The surgical procedure can be done up to 22 weeks. Under 15 weeks can be performed in 1 day, over 15 weeks will need to be completed over 2 days. Gynemed does offer sedation but can not accommodate those with tolerance (i.e. history of drug abuse) to benzodiazepines or opiates as the sedation medication will not work. Gynemed does not perform 'partial birth abortions' (and neither does any other facility in Maryland- this is a terrible lie told by anti-abortion protesters). Regardless of your procedure choice, prepare to present for an initial consultation, your 'procedure' day(s), and follow up appointment (included in the cost). Appointments must be made by the patient (can not be made by parents or partners) Children are not allowed in the facility. No drinks or food may be consumed in the waiting area The office is kept cold, please dress accordingly.
