I loved all of the work that I have seen from John on social media and what was show to us by Wedgewood The retreat. But, with that being said I am very disappointed with the way that he has handled us as clients, and with COVID-19. Originally we could not get ahold of him for a little while when we first decided on him as a photographer but he reached out eventually so that it fine and I think we were just eager to get our engagement photos done so we wanted to get the ball rolling so it felt longer. Well we had our engagement pictures scheduled for the 9th of March, took a couple days to get a confirmation from him and then due to an unexpected schedule change I requested to change it to the 11th of March and he was fine with that (which we were very greatful for) The forecast said rain so he wanted to push the shoot and i took his advice (even though it was the one day of the week that it did not rain and was beautiful of course) and we rescheduled for April 15th. Then COVID-19 happened, I never received ANYTHING from him, I tried to reach out to confirm that the shoot was cancelled so that I didn't miss him being there if he was planning on keeping the shoot. I emailed him on the 13th and tried calling him and never got any response from him. From a business standpoint it was very disappointing for him to never even reach out and let his clients know that their appointments were going to be rescheduled. The courtesy of receiving anything from him would have been better than being left in the dark and not able to reach him. I tried to reach out again to touch base and inform him we were not going to be using him for our wedding anymore and his email is full. So I am assuming I am not the only one having this issue right now. Good reviews are not just about the end result. It is also about the customer service that you provide for your clients and this has definitely shown me a very unreliable side to to him and I would not want to rely on him for my big day in fear that he may disappear again. read more

We're so extremely disappointed with John W Photography. The initial consultation was great they seemed very interested with our wedding and even the day of the wedding was good but to get our videos and pictures was the biggest hassle the took 10 whole months to deliver our pictures and videos none of the pictures were touched up. It seemed to us that they only cared about our wedding until they got payed after that was tons of emails of me begging for our pictures and videos and them apologizing and asking for patience. Maybe my expectations were too high after seeing the pictures in their studio and website but don't expect your wedding pictures to be like that future brides. read more

It's been way over a year and with several emails and phone calls & he still hasn't mailed it! John W Photography shot the video for our Wedding (David & Holly) on 09/19/2020 at the Wedgewood Chino Hills Estate, and nearly 2.5 months later we have not heard from him at all! My wife has called and left messages for him with NO RESPONSE! We have already paid him in full and he is affiliated with the Wedgewood Wedding Venues. I personally called and left a message for him today marked URGENT and have received absolute no response. It may be time to reach out to my personal attorneys to hold John W Photography accountable for his actions. It all started when we booked our event with Wedgewood Menifee Lakes location and they had this photographer down as their preferred vendor so we thought we'd consider them. We set up a appointment to get a quote on photo and video and decided to book them. At the appointment they showed us photos videos all of this stuff to get us sold and even discounted me a little because I worked my ass off to pay for all it myself, it almost $3,000 later with all that was set up. At the appointment and in the contract he stated we'd have photos and videos done in approximately 90 days. My wedding was October 11th 2019 almost a year ago and I still haven't received my hard disc of un edited and edited photos or my wedding videos. I had to practically f'n beg this guy to get me my stuff done and email him countless times and all I kept getting was were busy and a list of excuses, I wouldn't recommend this guy to no one if you plan on getting your pictures and stuff in less than a year of waiting. I hope you read this review and understand that if you're charging customers that much, your service should be A1. I'm talking customer service at 120% there should be no dam reason why people should have to wait that long for their stuff. Get a little more organized or get a better staff or more staff that could help. I had a list of photographers I was considering and I bet you I could have gotten the same work done but could have had my stuff done by now. Please be aware of these reviews people, because I even asked him about a review that made me nervous when we were waiting for our pictures and he didn't say anything about it just ignored it. I came across john when I booked my wedding venue at the menifee lakes Wedgwood. From the moment I met him he made me feel comfortable. When you book him, you sign a contract stating the pictures may take up to 90 days. The 90 days feels like forever, but let me tell you... his work was work the wait! My pictures came out absolutely stunning. John captured every moment perfectly. I can not wait to see my wedding video... the only reason I did not give him the full 5 stars is because they can be hard to get ahold of at times. I emailed them asking when I would get to see the shorter version of my video (which from my understanding should have been within the 90 day contract) and I have not heard back. read more

I really like the service John provided. Everything was great the consultation down to the day of the wedding. However; I do feel that he took way too many photos of the getting ready, the accessories, and the buffet. I did request photos of the getting ready and of the accessories, but I wasn't expecting the flowers sitting in the buckets waiting to be put in the center pieces, 12 pictures of the buffet, and multiple unwanted candied photos of getting ready. The pieces of his work that Wedgewood and John W had during the consultations, they were very nice as you can on his website. One of my main decisions when booking him was that he was familiar with the Wedgewood Indian hills grounds. I just wasn't please with the outcome. I feel that either the photos are too dark or maybe it was because of the fires in the surrounding area I don't know. I know there were other factors that were out of any one's control that caused my wedding to run behind schedule. I'm just letting the future brides know that not everything is the way they seem. John does great work; just don't expect your photos to look like the ones on his website. read more

John photographed my wedding at The Retreat in Corona. He was extremely personable and made sure everyone was comfortable. You could tell right away that he loves what he does and it was even more evident when we got to see our photos. Not only did he exceed my expectations with his warmth but with his work. I even got my pictures before a friend that got married 5 weeks before me got hers from her photographer. In addition to his photography services, I booked John's photo booth. It served as a great source of entertainment for my guests (especially when he was shooting the bridal party post-ceremony) but he has the best one I'd seen during a summer of three other weddings with photo booths. It's roomy enough to fit a wheelchair--my best friend's grandmother was excited she could go in. The prints from the photo booth were also great quality and I liked that they were 4x6 so you could place them in a regular frame. I will recommend John to all of my friends in need of photography services and would use him again if I am ever in need. read more

I have worked in the customer service business for more than 15 years so I am well aware that people tend to take more time to write about their dissatisfactions rather than to write about the lie positive experiences. That being said I always try my very best to not leave reviews as such on a forum that can be read by hundreds of others but considering how upset I still am today about the condescending phone call I received yesterday from Doug (John's assistant), I feel the need to share my view with others... Long story short I reached out to this company in effort to set up an appointment to meet. Doug replied with an appointment I believe was 10am during the week. Unfortunately for us we work during those hours. I asked if there was any other appointments available and advised that weekends work best for us. We understand that most photographers work on the weekends. However I did ask if someone can reach out to me so we can work out an appointment. At this point I receive a response that "we work normal business hours". This didn't settle right with me but thought maybe he didn't mean it this way. I asked what "normal business hours" are considering each photography company I have called works different hours and asked if someone can reach out to me to work out an appointment. Doug then replied about how busy they are and how well the company is doing and that the wait time for a consultation is 3-4 weeks out. This review has nothing to do with the appointment but rather his responses and I wish that I can post them all here. Rather yet maybe I will screen shot it and let you be the judge if I was being sensitive. I replied to him directly just saying that I was disappointed to not consider using them bc his responses didn't make me feel welcomed. I was not rude to Doug and simply wanted him to understand how his responses can be taken by someone reading an email. At this point I finally get a phone call. This man had a "you need me we don't need you" attitude bc "we do this many weddings a year". At one point I even asked him "Did you call me just to argue with me?". He told me "Seems like nothing we do will satisfy you." This man is so rude and condescending. It's funny to me that I requested a phone call twice to work on an appointment that will work for the both of us and he chose to call to tell me that he is right?!? LOL I'll $20 that he won't refrain from responding to this yelp and I'm sure you'll hear the condescending tone just like I did. Needless to say I am very disappointed bc I had looked forward to meeting and working with John. I hope he hires a new assistant in his future. read more

From beginning to end I was thoroughly blown away from my experience with John W Photography. Our initial talk over the phone was extremely reassuring to me that they knew what they were doing. John covered every detail as far as what they offered, what to expect, and took their time making sure we had all of our questions and concerns addressed. Emails and phone calls leading up to our wedding day went over any remaining details to make sure everyone was on the same page as far as location, shooting time, event itinerary, etc. On the day of the wedding our photographer showed up early and blew us away with her professionalism, charisma, and direction. Im a bit of a camera enthusiast too and the gear she used that day was really impressive. Her work and presence made our wedding day even more special. As father of the Bride I was very happy with John W and his 2 other staff photographers. While getting ready in the mens lounge I know that there were a lot of great pictures taken by our photographer of all the men. My wife told me that John was taking some very stunning pictures of my daughter and the Bridal party. For my first look photo the 2 photographers made sure to find the perfect location to take the picture and the right look. I feel their will be great pictures taken of the ceremony and reception (dances,speeches,cake,bouquet toss and garter toss) I cannot wait to see their pictures as I am sure they will be great. I'm so disappointed in this place!!! My wedding was last year and I purchased my pictures at the end of January before COVID started and I still have yet to receive my pictures. John assured me back in April I would have my disc with my pictures by the end of May. Here we are at the end of July and no one has returned my countless amount of calls nor email! I understand there may have been a delay because of COVID and i told him my understanding along with my concerns of not having my pictures. However the pictures where done and the CD should have gone out before COVID even during covid with USPS still being open. There is no excuse why i shouldn't have my photos, nor any excuse why no one has contacted me! I have no pictures to put up in my home of my special day and I'm so displeased! He advised promptness and professionalism! My pictures came out great that's why I purchased them that's why we chose to go with him and now I'm left with nothing and out off 2grand!! It started sprinkling right after my ceremony and he still managed to take some amazing photos (and kept me calm). When we began our search for a photographer we knew that was where we were willing to splurge for the best of the best! We figured if were going to put all of this time and money into a wedding, we want to have amazing pictures to look back on and share with our loved ones. We were so excited when we saw how affordable and flexible they were with our needs. John and his team are extremely professional and their response time is amazing. He incorporated our sons into our engagement shoot and was so patient and kind. I met them at a Wedgewood event and after a fun conversation with John and Doug, I was sold. I thought it was really important to find a photographer that had a good personality. John and Doug were awesome! When we met with them for our consultation, they were very informative, got to know us and answered all of our questions. They are very professional but easy to talk to, they have a great sense of humor and patience! On the day of they were amazing!
