John Sturdevant is the realtor you want to make your dreams come true. For over two years my husband and I were looking to get into a community we wanted to make our "forever home". He questioned me as to exactly what I was looking for and kept in constant contact whenever something became available. In a very competitive market we sadly got outbid a few times, but John never gave up. And then it happened, he found us the perfect place. We had used two previous realtors who just were not "quick on the draw" and so we are very appreciative of John. If you're looking for a realtor who will get the job done then you are needing John Sturdevant. read more

John help my family to get our dream home, he is very professional, honest and friendly and he is not just about the money, he became part of our family. The process to sell our old house was much easier than a I thought with John by our side, he got the most highest bid and put a good amount of money in our pocket for the down payment on our new home. He worked hard and fought for us to get the best deal, he also made sure we got the lowest payments and interest rate. My family and I recommend John 100% and I will hire him again for my kids future home. Even now that all the deals are over he keeps checking if we liked our new house and helps me fix any concerns or issues. Like I said he is part of our family. Thank you so much John we appreciate you!!!!!!! read more

John's professional performance makes you remember what a professional Realtor is supposed to be. John returned my initial call almost immediately and he has not let me down ever since. John realizes that home shoppers have a sense of urgency and he is the Realtor that can deliver information and coordinate home showings with that same urgency in mind. John has a wealth of knowledge and experience that really impressed me. In less than 3 hours from my initial call: John was able to narrow down my home search, set up 3 home showings and he even found me much a better loan provider. John is one of those professionals that continues to follow through until the transaction is complete. A+++++++++++ One in a million Realtor!!!!! read more

In order to describe John as a realtor, I need to provide a little background information about myself. I am probably the most meticulously anal person in the world. I expect perfection and always end up doing well whatever it takes to reach it. John was someone I could trust after interviewing several realtors. I wanted a realtor who was intelligent. Someone who works confidently under pressure and someone who new financials and construction. So many realtors these days have zero knowledge and regurgitate Redfin trends. John knows the market, he knows construction, and he has every single possible contact- lender, contractors, designers, cleaners, etc. and he is extremely creative in his work. I used John for a difficult purchase (hot market) as well as for selling my property. Look- agents essentially charge the same commission- why would you have a subpar realtor represent you for the same cost? I don't normally write reviews outside of Yelp, but wanted to write this one because John is someone I will use continually in the future. read more

We were already talking with another broker for the near future sale of our home (he'd come to our house twice already), but when I spoke with John Sturdevant the first time through our neighbor's open house, he offered to come by and peak at our house to see how it compared to his listing. When he came in, we spoke of our intentions for prepping our house for sale, and he had a solution for every issue we had that was delaying our sale. He offered a great deal to list our house (didn't push for higher commission like other realtors I'd spoken to), and immediately began providing contact with amazing contractors, a stager (free consultation), and got us a great carpet cleaning guy (our carpets looked brand new after). The difference between John and the other realtor was huge. John solved every problem we'd been stressing over for months regarding our house, and offered us a great deal to list without being pushy at all. I felt bad about ditching the other realtor, but the other guy seemed more concerned about increasing his commission to pay for his "high end photographer" and to get us boxes to start moving (ie. get him paid asap), while not helping to solve any of our issues in even getting to the point to list (ie. desired changes/upgrades we felt would improve our sale price, and they definitely did). In the end, we got top dollar for our house in a market that was already turning unfriendly, and we are certain that it was because of the above and beyond help we got from John Sturdevant. read more

TESTIMONIAL FOR JOHN STURDEVANT, REGENCY REALTY We found John to be the consummate professional. One month after our mother passed, we had only a few days to organise getting our departed mother's apartment cleared out, fixed up (new paint, carpet, repairs, etc.), and start up the escrow process before I had to return overseas (where I live). From the first visit with John, we were convinced that he thoroughly understood the market and the intricacies associated with our mother's unusual 'ownership' of the apartment. He also had working relationships with everyone we needed to get the apartment fixed up and sold -- painters, carpet specialists, cleaners, escrow people, 'stagers' (to set up lovely 'props,' like flowers and baskets, around the apartment for the promotional brochure), estate sales specialists, liquidators, etc. -- and all of these were organised within days and did exactly what they were supposed to do at the agreed cost for their services and products. Within 10 days, the place was spic and span, bright, lovely and cheery, and the promotional slide show (with music) and brochure highlighted the best features. We got a firm offer, at a great price, within 2 weeks of advertising, and John 'held our hands' throughout the whole process... even though this was a bit challenging, with my living on the other side of the globe. We had complete faith in John and so we didn't have to be anxious or worried about anything. And he did all this with class, style, confidence and friendliness. If we had to rate his outlook, approach and performance, we'd have to give him 10 out of 10. So, if you're lucky enough to live in Southern California when you have a property to sell, you don't have to be lucky in finding a fabulous realtor: just get John! We have worked with John Sturdevant for over 16 years.  My husband and I were reflecting over those years and we determined that John Sturdevant is without a doubt the best business relationship we have ever had. John listed and sold my town home in Laguna Niguel and then helped us complete a Starker Exchange in 2002.  I found him through a referral from my then tenant 17 years ago.  My tenant said "if I was ever going to use a real estate agent again I would use John Sturdevant because he is such a hard worker".  So I took his advice and contacted John and it was the best thing I have ever done!   John sold my town home in one day and to complicate matters, we live in San Francisco and I had to fly down to look for a new property.  In the end John ended up finding me a new town home in Aliso Viejo, sight unseen, by sending me photos on line. By then we had looked at many properties together on my previous visit, so John had a very clear idea of what I was looking for and I had only 45 days to purchase and close on a new property because of the tax laws.  He not only found me a property for a lower price than what I had been planning to spend, but he also helped me with coordinating a small remodel. Needless to say this was difficult for me since I live so far away, but John took care of everything and I could breathe a sigh of relief.   John then went on to help find us tenants for this town house beginning in 2002 and has ever since. He always finds us a great tenant. Our current tenants have been residing at our property going on 5 years now.  Any time an issue comes up, John replies to me immediately even when he is on vacation and out of the county! Again this is a huge relief to us because we live in San Francisco.  In our home we refer to John as "St. John" and I cannot say enough good things about him. He is the best! read more

John was our realtor last year when we bought our home in Mission Viejo. Not only did he listen and show us homes that met our needs, his attention to detail made the closing process seamless. When we had a problem with our loan, John called the other realtor and smoothed things over. His attention to every detail is amazing. We continue to call on John almost a year later for referrals for painters, contractors, etc. and he always responds quickly and efficiently. His referrals have been excellent. I have bought and sold over 6 homes and John is by far the best realtor I have ever used. I have recommended John to my family and friends and will use John again in the future. read more

After dealing with great realtors while buying my two homes, I thought I had seen the best OC real estate could offer. Well, then we got to know John Sturdevant and this was a complete new fantastic chapter. I would dare to say he is hands down the best realtor in OC and the one I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends. This year my mom moved to CA and she wanted to purchase her home here. We found John Sturdevant on the web and after reading the great reviews we asked him to help us find the property we wanted within our price range. John was so spot-on on his feedback and advice that once we made our decision to go after a specific property it ended up being a great purchase and a lovely place. We got a great deal! He had a busy schedule with other clients yet he made himself available 24/7. I ended up buying what we were looking for and I hired him to find me a tenant for my second property. John suggested ways to improve the unit and recommended me places that offer good prices and excellent work. John's connections after being a realtor for over 20 years are limitless. Since I have a busy schedule, John would supervise himself the paint, flooring and repairs of the unit. A few minor things like a broken faucet and sink still needed to be fixed and he himself took care of it so I'd save my money. I'm still speechless! Needless to say, once advertised, the property was rented in a week at the price we had stipulated. All this unconditional help is part of his excellence in customer service. He sees the need and acts upon it. He made all the process so smooth for us and kept us updated on how the paperwork was progressing towards escrow. It is my experience that no money within my budget pays for a service like this. I'm honest to say that the property was bought thanks to John and the second property rented in a week because of him after the way he handled the challenges going above and beyond. If I could give John 10 stars, I would. He went so much out of his way to help my mother and I that I am deeply grateful for all his dedication and attention to our needs. He really had our best interest in mind. He is a total keeper for my future purchases/sales in real estate. read more

John is a terrific realtor. I appreciate his professionalism, knowledge and candor. He has handled several home sales and purchases for me over the years and never fails to come through with flying colors. I can't imagine using any other realtor. He has a great network of contractors and tradespeople that are honest and reliable. This is really important when I am selling or buying a home and need work done. Even in between sales transactions, I can call John with various questions and he will answer or get the information for me. John is as good as it gets! read more

I had a privilege of working with John Sturdevant as my realtor when looking to lease my house in Aliso Viejo. John's knowledge KNOWHOW about real estate is multi-faceted. I found working with him a joy and felt like he was there to help me during every step of the processes. He emanates a sense of trust-worthiness that makes you feel very secure during what is without a doubt a very involved process. I had a house under renovation prior leasing and he referred me to whole-sellers, handyman, and contractors. My house was under renovation for 2 weeks, once listed within another 2 weeks my house was leased. He has this intuitive feeling as to what a house is really worth and how well it will sell/lease...I am actually still using one of his referral contractor todate. He is always available when I have any question or need advise. I can call him anytime, any day. John is always there for me. Thus, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John to any person, who is looking for real estate services, as well as seek his service in any of my future real estate needs. read more

John was our realtor when we were looking for my daughter's first home. I've worked with many realtors over the years and the experience with John was by far the best. He was especially adept at meeting the needs of my daughter as a first time buyer and still addressing the concerns of my wife and I as "seasoned" real estate purchasers. We made several trips to Orange County to meet with John and each time he was well prepared with a list of properties to view that met our evolving criteria. We ended up jointly purchasing a condo with our daughter and John's service continued to impress through out the escrow process and even after the sale with facilitating some necessary renovations. I absolutely recommend John Sturdevant as the realtor to use in Orange County and ... read more

John is a fantastic realtor. He listed our ocean view home in Dana Point for the exact amount we asked him to. He got multiple offers for a higher price than other recent comparable sales in our gated community in only 13 days!! John went above and beyond what was expected of him. His knowledge, expertise and responsiveness were simply amazing throughout the process of selling our home. Selling your home is a very personal and emotional endeavor, but John made us feel extremely safe, secure & relaxed. He made everything go smoothly and he answered all our questions and provided his professional opinion each step of the way. We started as a FSBO, but quickly realized we needed help. We interviewed 4 realtors before choosing John. His listing fee was very competitive. His warm yet very professional manner made it such a pleasure to work with him. There was a lot of work and detailed nuances involved during the sale, but John handled all of it for us and escrow closed in 35 days. We highly recommend John Sturdevant. read more
