Many responsibilities are not consistently completed because temporary assistants can only do so much while actively caring for patients. Office management is not stepping in to cover those responsibilities, and the doctors are focused on treating patients. not only that but I have yet to get my last check with no communication from HR or the office. One of the most concerning things I observed was the sterilization logs. According to the records I reviewed while working there, instrument sterilization and maintenance procedures had not been properly completed for approximately two months. That is unacceptable in any dental office. What frustrated me most was the double standard. Office management was frequently late and missed numerous days, yet remained employed without consequences. Meanwhile, dental assistants who were only a few minutes late even after regularly arriving early and working hard for the office faced disciplinary action or termination. There is nothing wrong with having rules, structure, and accountability. Every workplace should have them. The problem is when those standards only apply to certain employees. When management is held to one standard and everyone else is held to another, it stops feeling like a professional workplace. Between the staffing issues, payment problems, lack of accountability, and overall management, this office felt more like a circus than a professional business. That is all I have to say.

New technologies are incorporated into treatment plans as needed, the comfort and well-being of patients are always the priority. The new office is comfortable and convenient with plenty of parking. I figured at least the majority of it would be covered by insurance because these are just standard items so when I got my reimbursement check from Delta Dental I was surprised when it was only $97. I went to Walton because they have the Delta Dental logo on their website and say they work with insurance providers. I looked at the itemized explanation and it said out of network provider. I have the top Delta plan so I called Walton and asked what was going on and they said they would pull up my file and call me back. They rudely emailed me about 6 hours later with the same itemized list I was mailed and just went through the charges. I understood the charges... I didn't understand why insurance didn't cover it. I restated my question and was emailed this (copied & pasted): "We absolutely accept delta. We do not have a direct contract with this carrier- which means we are out of network. (We do not have a contract with any insurance)" delta is a bad company! Your better off doing our in office plan for the benefits you are getting. Thanks!" You will be reimbursed the amount of an out-of-network provider. They just want you to buy into their in office payment plan! Not going back!

Then, when the staff noticed I was cold, they brought me a fresh, cozy blanket. It was such a thoughtful gesture and showed how much they care about their patients' comfort. I was also impressed by the technology. Instead of using the traditional molds for my night guard, they simply scanned my teeth. The process was quick, easy, and fascinating to watch. They don't have a lot of evening availability which can make scheduling tricky. I was nervous about going to see a dentist during Covid, but it felt very safe. They had me wait on my car, they wore PPE, i wore a mask (when they weren't working on my teeth), and they checked my temperature when I arrived. I remember when I moved to Chicago and tried to find someone else up there. They tried to claim I had 22 cavities. I took the image to Rakutt, and they told me that there were places that tried to take advantage of bright-eyed, naive, people. Lesson learned. He told me I had no cavities and to be careful. I traveled from Chicago to see him. I couldn't trust anyone else. I was one of his first patients he got to put braces on. If my memory serves me correctly, when I first went to him as a wee pre-teen, he did not have the necessary certification to do braces. But he was studying to be able to. Voila! He finished, put some braces on me, and straight teeth are now had. Slightly adjusted as time goes on, but still relatively straight. I love the people that work there. Carlotta, the front of office, always asked about my family and me. She is always smiling and is just a calming presence. I hope he never retires, but I feel the day approaching. Till then, I will keep coming to hear his soothing and calm voice tell me, "Well, everything looks great!!"
