A "hidden gem". This is a very customer-friendly, competent garage. I was having major problems with a ten-year-old car which other garages in the area were reluctant to take in as it is a diesel engine. Mr Oates was quite happy to "take a look" and quickly found out what the problem was, then gave me good advice on how best to proceed. I have been looking for a reliable garage for sometime so finding John Oates garage has been a godsend. You can have your car m o t done anywhere but it was great to have someone explain about advisories and to give you a detailed list of costs before any work was done. It makes you feel important as a customer and valued as well. The prices are reasonable and the garage lads are very polite, even taking the time to explain what work needs doing and the reasons why that work is necessary. This is great, as sometimes it can be a bit daunting when your a woman who is not very mechanically minded!
