Our family was a loyal customer of this dealership for over 20 years, back when it was Emporia…read moreMotors. It used to be the only place we bought vehicles and had them serviced because the staff genuinely cared about their customers. Unfortunately, that changed a few years after Boyer bought the dealership. All of the great salespeople we knew left, and the welcoming atmosphere disappeared. When we bring our car in for service now, no one even acknowledges us. In the past, Steve Vaughan and the sales team would always stop to visit with customers and make you feel appreciated. That level of customer care is gone. Recently we went in to look at buying a vehicle and had a very disappointing experience. The salesperson, Jason, told us our car had hail damage, which, if it did, was not noticeable at all. Our vehicle was in very good condition and had been serviced at this dealership since we bought it. According to Kelley Blue Book, the trade-in value of our car was between $4,000 and $6,000. The dealership was advertising a promotion where they would double your trade-in value, yet they initially offered us only $2,000. Even doubled, that would only bring it to $4,000 -- the very bottom of the value range. The vehicle we were looking at (a Toyota RAV4) had scratches and a chipped windshield, yet they deducted money for those issues. When we told them our car was worth more than what they were offering, they suddenly increased the trade-in value but removed the discounts they had previously offered. When we said we were going to wait and keep looking, the pressure to buy immediately increased. This dealership is nothing like it used to be. We ended up purchasing a 2026 Chevy Trax from another dealer, where our trade-in value came in right within the Kelley Blue Book range. It's disappointing to see how far the customer service has declined from what Emporia Motors once was. I hope management takes these reviews seriously before more long-time customers decide to go elsewhere. After more than two decades as customers, we will not be returning.

Wonderful, nice, knowledgeable dealership!!! Highly recommend!!! Worth the drive from Kansas City!!!read more

My husband and I needed a new truck. His old one died and he needs a truck for work. We bought a…read moreNissan Titan from T&C and was told the only problem it had was it was stuck in 4 wheel drive but they fixed it and now it was in 2 wheel drive (turns out they just unplugged the 4 wheel drive) and we would have to have the wiring to the switch looked at. That should have been our first sign to walk away, but we were in desperate need of a truck so we bought it. We didn't even have the truck a week and the transmission started slipping. It also still drives like it's in 4 wheel drive and the dash is lit up saying 4 wheel drive on. We talked to the owner and he told us to take it to the shop. When my husband called their shop he was told they didn't work on transmissions. Now we are dealing with the transmission, and twice the back tire has come off the truck while my husband was driving the truck. The first time it happened he was on the highway thankfully he was not hurt. When talking to the owner we were told this is up to us to fix. They sold us a death trap and told us it was our problem now and we have to fix it. We will never buy a car from them again no matter what the circumstances are. They seem to get cars that look good with a lot of mechanical issues and don't feel bad about sending people out in a vehicle that will leave them stranded. They don't even deserve the one star I gave them but you have to put something. Definitely buyer beware. When I posted my review on google the owner got ahold of my husband, not to make things right but to tell him that I needed to take my review down. He said we should have taken it to his shop but when we called his shop they told us they didn't work on transmissions. Not sure why we would have taken it to their shop if they don't even work on transmissions. He also teied lying saying he had just got the truck in that day when we had been looking at it online for a couple days. You would think instead of complaining about the review he would want to make things right with us so I would post a better review.

I would give this place a negative number if I could. We drove 3 plus hours to get to this joke of…read morea car dealer. We came from Missouri. We get there and a guy was hauling a trailer around with a pick up about hit us, there was a stand off between us and the person hauling the travel trailer. My wife backed up. We seen the 2005 Ford f-150 5.4 engine we were looking at online. And let me tell it was nothing like it showed online. It was scratched up. Beat up,the tail gate was all scratched up look like they were new scratches. It was very dirty. I worked at a dealership, and we would never ever show a car or truck in condition. It was nasty. Well, a salesperson came out his name was Adam. He did not know much about anything. We asked where Justin was the owner, I guess. And Adam said he is hauling that trailer that about hit us. Well, we started it we started it up sounded good at first, then we had Adam move it up by the building, He wanted to make copies of our driver's license. So we could drive it. I heard funny noises coming from the engine. I knew what it was it was the valves rattling. Sounded like a diesel. We test drove it and it was making sounds like a storm siren. I thought maybe it is the tires I told my wife. Later I think it might have a wheel bearing going out. We brought it back and by this time Justin helped . I told him about the wheel or tires were making a hell of noise. Oh! driver's seat made breaking sound like it was about to give out. Well, Justin took it out and drove it i go you hear that noise he said he did not at first. Then did, he said it was the tires because he heard me mention it. I sat in the back it was a 4 door. To see if I could hear anything. the answer was no on that. We came back to the dealership and I asked about the brakes he said they were in good shape I looked and felt the rotors on the front. They had groves in the rotors where the rivets was eating them up. By this time after they said all 5.4 engines sound like that. I thought you are full of crap! I went inside the building with Justin. He thought he had it sold. My wife was on the phone with the lending company. She came in and I said do want to discuss this in private? She said yes. We told them we were going to go gas for car. Which we did. I called the Ford dealership in Topeka. And they knew why the engine was rattling for right off the bat after I told them it was a 2005 5.4 engine and they told it was the Cam Phasers getting ready to go out 5.4 's are note for that. They offered to let us drive to St.Joseph Missouri to have it looked over. We declined. And when we were out driving it the 3 of us. I said I will asked this one more time. Will you come down on the price he sounded like I dare you you! We do not Negotiate prices. The pickup was 8900 and since you are vet we brought it down too 8600 . This was Justin talking. Well, what put the nail in Town and Country coffin was, they did not guarantee it would pass Missouri vehicle inspection. And if it did not we were SOL. They would NOT give us are money back! So when we got gas and I got done talking to the ford dealership in Topeka, I called them up and told them we were passing on the pickup .Cause I talked to the Ford dealership. Justin reply was how do they know? lol! They have not seen the truck. I said we will pass and kept driving back home. Do Not let them fool you ! Dennis and Myra Moore. 5/24 /2024 Do not believe their pictures of they inventory. Oh I asked if they had another5.4 on the lot Justin thought and said no. Cause I wanted to listen to another 5.4 see if the valves were ratting. I think they did but he was not to start another.

I traded in a…read moretruck for a bigger one, and it took them almost 2 months and a complaint to the attorney general to get them to do their job. They even sold my old truck while I still had a loan on it and was making payments. Less than a month after getting my new truck, it started having transmission problems that make it undriveable. I've been calling, texting, and even going in person to get an update or solution, but no luck. Now, my family and I are paying for a useless car. You can't even drive it around the corner without it kicking hard like a mule, feeling like you've been rear-ended because of the bad shifting. They haven't offered my family or me any solution, just kept promising they'd look into it, but they haven't done anything. Keep in mind, the issues started less than a month later, and I haven't even driven it much because of the bad transmission. I highly recommend people go somewhere else and save themselves the headache of dealing with this dealer. I came here because I heard good things, but I guess that's a myth with how they handle things. My family and I have had to make do with my little sedan since they won't even offer a loaner truck.
