I am a patient of Shoreline Periodontics in Middletown CT…read more It's been 2 months since my appointment and I am due funds back from Shoreline for over payment. The check was not received in 60 days now but promised in 3 weeks. No one seems to know what is going on at your branch in Middletown regarding this. They say the check is in the mail but months pass and no refund was ever received. They don't return calls over there either. Can you speak to someone in your Middletown staff to facilitate this. This is the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced from any dental company. Please resolve this asap, TY. Just ask them to send the check out for the $450.00 you guys owe me or find out why they are dragging their feet here. They will know who it is. Sorry for the bad review, but you guys earned it.

The dentist I went to said no, he could not in good conscience and said it would also have to be pulled. Found an excellent periodontist , Dr. Gulino, in Groton. He saw me the same day, knowing I was suffering and a week later he removed the stiches and said Im healing there nicely. What a difference in quality of care and compassion.

I've been a patient at Bridgeworks Dental for many many years. I've recommend them to multiple…read morefamily members and always found the group to be pleasant. Recently however, I had a very negative experience that has made me switch to another dental group. I never had any issues with paying any dental bills and in fact at times had credits on my account as me or my husband, (who was also a patient until last week), had paid a balance as directed by the front office only to have our duel insurances cover more than expected Resulting in an account credit. Last week I went in for the last part of a root canal which was just to get the permanent crown affixed. I had paid half of my balance previously and owed $208.00 at the visit in Dec 31st. My appointment was at 8:30 in the morning for which I was on time. I was greeted by the assistant and ready to go back when the girls behind the desk pointed to the computer and read something and then told me I needed to pay before I saw the dentist. Id never been requested to do this and I asked why I would pay prior to services being performed? An office worker assured me that this was the new office procedure going forward. I'd brought my debit card with me and tried to process the payment. It was declined as my bank had put a temporary hold on my account due to "suspicious activity" Over the holiday which was unknown to me but common for the bank to do to protect customers accounts against fraud. I tried multiple phone numbers for the bank and the number on the back of my card to request that they remove the block however, nobody was available until the bank opened at 9:00 a.m. in the meantime, one of the office workers said she would check with the dentist to see if he would see me in the meantime until I got my card squared away. She came back from checking and relayed that I couldn't go back until I paid first. This was very disheartening as I never had any issues paying for any services. I sat in the waiting room for a half hour until my bank opened and then left to go to the bank, got cash and brought it back to the office and paid. I was then seen by the dentist for the ten minute appointment. I found it odd that when I was told it was a new policy of the practice, as I was waiting to be seen, two patients came out and were charged AFTER their appointments. I mentioned this to the office worker (who has been there a while) and she said, "if it's for a cleaning or something like that we charge after but for a crown we charge up front". The whole situation was unpleasant and unprofessional. I fully understand that dentists need to get paid as any business does but this was unwarranted and unnecessary. To be treated in this manner was very unexpected and disheartening.

Recently had a horrible experience with a new receptionist named Evelyn…read more I had a 2 pm appointment, and got stuck in traffic on Rt 32 on my way. The traffic was literally at a standstill. I called ten minutes before my appointment and was advised they have a 10 minute grace window. I called back at 2:10 to advise that I was just down the street and would be arriving in two minutes. I was told very rudely that I'd have to reschedule, even though after arriving I could see my hygienist was available. I advised the receptionist that I had driven over 50 minutes to get to Contemporary Dentistry from Colchester. She began to argue with me that she lived in Montville and it was only 30 minutes to Colchester. I tried to show her on my GPS from where I live the driving time and distance, and she accused me of shoving my phone in her face, which wasn't the case at all. I was simply trying to explain to her and show her that I drove a long way to get to the office and just wanted a cleaning. She insisted that I needed to reschedule. The reason I was given for having to reschedule was that the Hygenist needed additional time for my appointment to do x-rays. I told the receptionist I didn't have any problems with my teeth and I just wanted a cleaning and I would get my x-rays on my next visit in six months The receptionist advised me that it was a Connecticut state law that I had to get full dental x-rays every five years, which I really questioned. I asked to speak to the office manager, Jessica because the receptionist Evelyn was being unreasonable in my opinion . Jessica advised me that it is not a Connecticut state law that x-rays have to be taken every five years or patients can't be treated. After speaking to Jessica, it was approximately 2:30 PM, and Jessica politely scheduled me for another appointment next week. This was after Evelyn rudely advised me she would not schedule me. I've been going to Contemporary Dentistry since 1985 when Dr. Tiberri owned the practice, and prior to the practice being sold to Dr. Sanfilippo. I have always had good experiences, and have given many 5 star reviews in the past forContemporary Dentistry, but this new receptionist named Evelyn does not represent the practice well. The one star score I am giving today is based on the horrific interaction I had with the new receptionist named Evelyn.
