Dr. Silverman had the best reviews so I gave him a call. He answered the phone and I was able to get an appointment that same week. After a discussion with Dr Silverman and Rebecca, they asked if I wanted to go ahead with the testing. It's not typically covered by insurance and they went over the costs with me. First I went through a computer assessment and then brain mapping via EKG. As I suspected, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I purchased a treatment package of neurofeedback sessions and have been going twice a week. I feel really grounded after each session and feel like I'm making good progress. This office treats both children and adults. They even offer Saturday hours, which are very convenient.

Dr. Silverman offers a diverse range of treatment modalities. So far, I have participated in 3 sessions (utilizing multiple treatment modalities), and the results, even after a short time, have been deep and meaningful. I am much calmer, more focused, and I have seen a shift in the way my brain functions. It more effectively & efficiently processes day-to-day challenges. In the future, I also plan to have brain mapping done for my high functioning autistic son. I honestly believe receiving Dr. Silverman's treatment will be a "game changer" for him, as well. The office experience has been reassuring & positive. Everyone present believes the patient's best interest is the only interest to be considered. I am met with kindness, caring, and compassion during each exchange. I am honestly so impressed, on all fronts, and it is my pleasure to highly recommend Dr. Sanford Silverman. When given an opportunity to assist you, whatever neurological needs present, I have full confidence Dr. Silverman will do his absolute best to recommend an effective treatment plan. Expect noticeable, lasting results with continued treatment. Honestly, I cannot speak highly enough of this facility/its staff ... This has been nothing short of a miracle for me. Believe in yourself, believe in Dr. Silverman's ability to help you, and BELIEVE HEALING IS POSSIBLE.

What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

Jane doesn't just help our daughter, she has given me countless tools as well. I finally feel like I'm actually equipped to be a parent for the first time in 10 years. I also picked up her book Raising Humane Beings and I couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in 2 days and had so many "ah-ha" moments. The way I parent has basically done a complete 180 since meeting Jane and our family feels so much more calm and connected now. Jane was born to do this work. I've even decided to start going to her myself for non-parenting counseling as well. If you want actual results from counseling, look no further. Jane is the real deal. Edit: After reading through some of the other reviews I feel the need to add that some of the tools Jane offers may not be considered "conventional"... and that's a GOOD THING. That's why her tools actually work. Don't expect the same old song and dance you're going to get from any counselor you go to. If you go into therapy with an open mind and a willingness to do the work, you will see results immediately. An example for me was her "talking stick" exercise. I thought to myself "there's no freaking way out family is going to sit down and do talking stick"... and after Jane had my daughter and I practice it in a session, it's our new favorite thing! It instantly made me feel so much more connected to my daughter and helped her feel heard and validated. But again, having an open mind and being willing to try something different is key. You have to actually want your situation to change, otherwise no counselor or amount of therapy will work. Seems like the only negative reviews were from people that either never actually had a session with her, or went in and didn't try the tools she recommended, which says less about Jane and more about the reviewer IMO.

It was difficult and the methods never felt helpful in the moment because of our patterns but we learned that they were doing deeper work in spite of our resistance. Let me first address some of the previous negative comments…read more This is a small office. They don't need to take new patients, the practice does fine on it's own with its existing clientele and the amount of referrals sent to the Schwartz group on a daily weekly and monthly basis from other specialists all over the valley. Dr. Schwartz has earned his reputation for being one of the top child psychiatrists in Arizona. No, they do not take insurance and it is expensive. But it is worth it. From someone that worked the system and had my son see several specialists just so I didn't have to pay for it or only had to pay for the medication, or only had to pay a small co-pay... I learned my lesson that you DO get what you pay for!!! I was initially upset that they didn't take insurance either and that it didn't count towards any sort of in network type billing. You have to submit it all and do it all on your own. But now, I'm five with it. Dr. Schwartz was referred to us by Dr. Andrew Wiessman who is by far one of the best behavior modification psychologists and specialist that I've come across after seeing, like I said, a substantial amount of doctors and therapists and counselors for my son. And I don't mean like two or three I mean like 40-50. My son was diagnosed when he was four years old with several different problems. Fast forward to six years old and he's diagnosed after several hospital visits and school valuations and tests with ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, borderline autism spectrum disorder, OCD, anxiety, pica, and defiance disorder. Now my son is nine years old, his Tourette's syndrome and movements and verbal tics are almost 90% controlled with the help of his neurologist, behavioral specialist, and Dr. Schwartz knowing his meds. Dr. Schwartz looked through my kids years worth of a medical bible extensively and through all of the medications that my son had been prescribed. He managed to correct medication dosage, and the types of medication within three visits. And we didn't have to wait until three visits, he started adjusting stuff at the very first visit and making suggestions. He's worked with both our neurologist and our behavioral therapist to help our son. We've had a total of four visits and we still have our ups and downs because our son is constantly growing and changing and these adjustments need to be made, but we can communicate with Dr. Schwartz via email or over the phone, and he will adjust things when given details. With Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Andrew, I have learned that you really do get what you pay for when it comes to mental help. You also need to work. It's not just the Doctor Who is at fault for a failed medication, or therapy. It's the patient or in our case the parents. My husband and I are divorced. We had to mend our fences to be able to help our child. We still sometimes don't see eye to eye, but we always do what's best for our child. We needed to make both of our households consistent, we had to agree on the medication, we had to agree to schedule, we had to reduce stress in our child's life, and much more. We realized that our own inconsistencies or problems and his treatment. I understand that this can't always be corrected with separated or divorced parents, or people with really erratic hectic schedules. I highly recommend this office, and I recommend this office on a regular basis. And to several people that have watched my son, and everything that he's gone through for the past five years, they have seen that this past six months has been extremely life-changing for all of us. The right team of people, really makes a difference, and if it's your child...I would hope you feel they are worth it. My ex-husband and I had to save for his first visit for a period of time. And then we do have to space out our appointments to be able to have the funds for each one. But it is worth it! My son is worth it! I thought I would never get my kids back. And with the help of Dr. Kruer and team at Phoenix Children's Hospital, Dr. Andrew Wiessman and Gilbert and Dr. Marc Schwartz I've gotten about 75% of the child I raised back. And that to me is worth every penny.
