The staff is very nice and I sat in on the appointment with the doctor, we we're very impressed with him! He's kind, intelligent, very informative, nice bedside manner, told my husband about all his options and did not push surgery! I would highly recommend this doctor and the office!!!!

A Yelp Five Stars to Dr. Mufaddal Ghadiali, a top surgeon who I credit with saving my life…read more One day, while lunching at Sea Watch, I got a horrid unrelenting pain in my stomach area. So, I ended up in the emergency room of Holy Cross Hospital. I was examined and immediately sent to an MRI. When the results came back, they said it showed that I had Gallstone Ileus. Like what is that? So, I Googled it and found it to be: "One of the rarest forms of all mechanical bowel obstructions and is a complication of cholelithiasis. Patients have non-specific symptoms such as intermittent abdominal pain, distension, nausea, vomiting, and constipation as the gallstone travels through the gastrointestinal tract. This activity describes the evaluation and treatment of gallstone ileus and explains the role of the interprofessional team in managing patients with this condition." Then they put me on morphine for the pain and scheduled emergency surgery for late that Sunday night. As my condition was so rare there was no set procedure for that type if surgery, but Dr. Mufaddal Ghadiali skillfully accomplished it. Then, after 30 days of heeling and rehabilitation, I was released and now as good as ever.

Babaian,…read moreMD 5700 North Federal Highway, Suite 1 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 January 22, 2026 To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this letter as a formal complaint regarding the improper denial of care and failure of insurance verification procedures at your office. I scheduled a gastroenterology appointment more than one month in advance and provided my insurance information at that time. My coverage is UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus High Option PPO, provided through the United States Postal Service union under the federal government. This is not a marketplace plan. The day prior to my appointment, I received a call from your office stating that UnitedHealthcare Marketplace changes effective January 1, 2026 rendered me ineligible. I explicitly clarified that my plan was not a marketplace plan. I was then instructed to still appear for my appointment and bring my insurance card and identification. I arrived as directed and presented both my ID and insurance card. Despite having the card physically in hand, the billing clerk informed me that my insurance was not accepted and that I was "out of network." I was told the office attempted to verify eligibility the day prior but required a phone number from the back of my card--however, no such request was made during the call I received, nor was any attempt made to verify coverage while my card was present. I was dismissed without being seen. Immediately afterward, I contacted UnitedHealthcare directly. I was informed that Dr. Manuel E. Babaian, MD is in-network for my plan and that your office does accept my insurance. The failure to verify eligibility while in possession of my insurance card, combined with inconsistent explanations, resulted in an improper denial of care. This reflects a serious lapse in administrative procedure and raises concerns regarding patient treatment standards. I am requesting a written explanation addressing: Why my insurance was inaccurately represented as out of network Why eligibility was not verified while my card was physically available Why I was dismissed despite confirmation from UnitedHealthcare that your office accepts my plan Please consider this letter part of the official record. I expect a timely response. Sincerely, Charlene Alvarez cc: UnitedHealthcare / USPS Union Benefits (Insurance Compliance Review) Florida Medical / Consumer Protection Complaint (Regulatory Version)
