This is our go-to Gas Station for a number of reasons. The first, and always the most important to…read moreus, is the excellent and friendly customer service we always get. Yes, we are in the set of the 'known' customers, but I see the same friendly service given to the customers that are definitely not regulars, proven by the start of the conversation going, "Hi, I'm from (Fill in Random State) and I don't know how I got on this road. Can you help me?" Which I have heard a couple of times in there. It is a smaller, individually owned station that does not have the floor space for stock that other newer stores do. What is does have is our 2nd and 3rd reasons for keeping this the Store we go out of way to: It has a Young couple running it that wants to succeed and knows that happy customers are the only way behind that success. They eagerly take suggestions and implement all of those that are possible and feasible; in fact they ask for suggestions. They will stock what you will buy. If you want it, ask them to carry it. Their gas prices and store prices are always in line with what everyone else is charging, and for some items that we buy are cheaper. They have been making improvements to the store that were much needed in the last year that they took over the store for instance, The gas pumps that were often not working have been replaced with new pumps, the lot has been repaved, there is now a beer cooler, and they have added an ever increasing selection of drinks and snacks.

This convenience store was located close to the hotel we were staying. I noticed that one of my…read morerear tires was low on pressure, so I went to their Air Pump to put some air on my tires.... There were no instructions, just pictures on what to do to activate the pump...I followed the process and the pump did not work...I tried a few different things but .....NO.......not working... So I went inside and told the cashier that the air pump was not working and I had paid for the service....she said....Oh Yeah...sometimes it does not work.... I asked for a refund (it was a $2 charge).....and she was able to give me the cash....I asked her if she might consider putting a "Out of Service" sign out on the pump, so others don't have to go through wasting their time........I walked around the store for something to munch..

They also have fresh food inside, including, catfish, shrimp, and grits and a pretty legitimate country biscuit which you can get in a variety of breakfast sandwiches. Service has always been pretty consistent with a greeting upon entering the door and a couple of self service checkout lanes. Haven't quite figured out the club pricing situation yet but overall their gas prices seem to be fairly competitive and on par with everybody else in the area.

The gas prices were reasonable however, during a recent visit, an overflowing garbage cans were observed near every pump. I could understand this maybe after a full day of operation but I was stopping there at 7 am and find it surprising that they were left that way. Despite this, the station provided the expected quality fuel and a quick, convenient stop for travelers. With a little more attention to cleanliness, this Shell location could fully reflect the brand's usual standards.
