While not being able to take my case, as his practice is limited to mainly Lemon law cases, he nonetheless spent 40 minutes speaking with me, regarding my case & options. This... with no compensation whatsoever! Who/what attorney does this? An attorney with empathy, integrity, morals & concern for others, that's who! A good man! Now... this really put a dent in my belief, and that of many others... that most attorneys ride along on the underbelly of a fungus, that inhabits the bottom of slime-dwelling creatures! A welcome breath of fresh air-- a refreshing belief in the remaining good in humanity. If you're looking for someone to represent you with intelligence, loyalty and empathy, look no further than this exceptional law firm! I am honored to wholeheartedly recommend them, as the best of the best!

He stumbled his way through my worker's compensation case. This is the best example of the exemplary and compassionate legal representation I received: When I asked about the months' worth of wages I had lost, he said in essence that I was SOL. He would not pursue my lost wages because there was not enough cash in it for him.

He has a clear lack of understanding and compassion for complicated relationships, and also lacks the willingness to listen. I could not have asked for a worse attorney to represent me in my case as he dismissed or ignored every word I said. I am disgusted by his arrogance and his perceived image of himself. I'm not someone who is writing this due to a poor outcome alone - look at Josh's record as he was suspended in 2020 for the following which is quoted from the official letter he was given. You get what you pay for... don't make the same mistake that I did. "The Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility has filed a petition for disciplinary action alleging that respondent Joshua Seth London has committed professional misconduct warranting public discipline--namely, making multiple knowingly false statements to the prosecutor and the court while representing two clients, instructing his paralegal to file a request for a continuance with the court that included multiple knowingly false statements, failing to appear in two criminal matters, appearing on two occasions incapacitated and unable to represent clients, resulting in delays to court proceedings, and initially omitting the reason for his incapacitation when responding to the Director's inquiry. Josh and team took on a highly unusual case that dated back years. Due to the pandemic and the passage of time they did their best to research the case and seek out all parties involved. Josh and John made the process easier showing empathy and lack of judgment as to our situation. We appeared multiple times in court to achieve the best possible outcome over the almost 11 month process. London Defense never asked for more money than we originally agreed upon even though I believe the work put into our case exceeded the amount of hours and court appearances London Defense initially thought would be involved. I highly recommend Josh London and his law firm to act in your best interest. London Defense is not a law firm that will just have you settle the case but fight for your rights within the law. Most importantly, they will do so with professionalism, dignity and not pass judgements on your situation or character. Thanks London Law!!

My husband has been an attorney since 1975. He has been an Assist. DA in Brooklyn, an SEC…read moreinvestigator for the NYC office, a senior litigator for one of the largest Wall Street firms and then general counsel at a regional securities firm years ago. So we are very careful where we seek legal advice and go professional contact/ referrals all the way . I am very very lucky to have this. We were introduced to Bill Michelson JUST as my husband was recovering from 5 major huge surgeries . My husband had been so ill that we had almost zero income the entire 13 months of his non stop major operations. Mn even gave us food stamps fuel assistance that year! Huge blessing to have received! ( thank God he is fine now). He also lost his mom and brother in the middle of all this and was on strictly monitored major pain killers for 9 of those months. So my husband was "not totally mentally cognizant " in monitoring detailed projects during this time ( 5 rounds of anesthesia " stay in your system a good 12 months" said his back fusion/ diskectomy surgeon. SO... We were a very vulnerable scared couple when we walked in. ( almost all our bills were up to date-- he told us to stop paying everyone that first meeting ) First, Bill was a total stranger to us. My husband has never met him before, and we paid him fairly honestly like all clients He put us IMMEDIATELY at ease and gave us MASSIVE relief when he said that first meeting ," don't worry.... Your terrible physical and economic situation totally understandable after all these surgeries places you in a good situation... I can definitely talk to all your creditors, explain your dire situation today... And there is a good chance we can not only get them to work with us favorably , but I am confident I can get them to cooperate with us And have them lower your debt as well ." I have these as notes from my meeting . You have NO idea the massive waves of relief that rushed through us after hearing those words . So we automatically trusted him 100 % on the spot primarily from the referral and from his wonderous words . Why wouldn't we ??!! I immediately started the 2 years of repairing painting the house then finally packing and moving in December 2015. I left all the legal " mumbo-jumbo" to my husband. 18 months later when our house would not sell and it became upside down/ short sale , Bill found us an excellent realtor of short sales and was our closing attorney as well! We met with him a few times but worked primarily via phone (note: every minute on the phone the attorney's $ meter is ticking) I believe we paid him $10,000+ approx ( I found all bill's letters in my husbands desk... Unopened. Bill would call him tell him what we owed, Jon would pay.) Late August September 2015 we met with Bill. He said," I did not work on your debt overall... I did not want to do anything negative to your credit that would adversely affect the sale of your house (accepted an offer late October 2015)." I just listened nodded had no idea in general what was going on-- I had been feverishly packing . ... But we met with him a GOOD year before putting the house on the market......why didn't you call our creditors asap? We were up to date on many, not all. He DID work on just one debt (Winter 2016) with one creditor (they had filed a formal law suit against us) and negotiated them down 1/4-1/3. We met this spring 2016 and I mentioned to him that we were thinking of meeting with Lutheran Family Svces for in-depth financial guidance. He IMMEDIATELY was agitated excited raised his voice ( 1st time ever ) and said, " don't do that! You don't need them you have me." To make a long story short: we DID go to Lutheran Family Svces on Park ave in Minneapolis and got OUTSTANDING advice!!! We also learned from them that Bill had DONE ZERO... that ALL our DEBT was now 100 % charged out!! Zero negotiations zero reduction of debt. Zero promises . We were in TOTAL shock...... This has put us in very grave circumstances. And Lutheran Family Svces could do nothing to help nor save us... Toooo late...... I did indeed call him about a week later, late at night. and left a message stating that Lutheran Family Services offers outstanding assistance-- exactly the kind of guidance I had been fiercely looking for five years.... that they were NO threat to his work for our amt of debt was too high. I did end by saying honestly that he should have guided us to them years ago, for they could have greatly helped us....AND I let him know I was VERY very angry. He IMMEDIATELY dropped us. Lutheran Family Services is the BEST place to start. Go call make an appointment WAY before you get behind in your bills. They are a non-profit organization that has helped Minnesota individuals and families for years and years... for free. We shall survive, but avoid offers of " loan consolidation"!!!

I was the opposing party in a Dakota County family-court matter in which Clarence Patterson III…read morerepresented the other side. He never represented me. This review concerns my direct experience with his courtroom advocacy and written positions. I understand that attorneys must advocate firmly for their clients. But in family court, words can alter a person's life before disputed facts are fully examined. At an August 28, 2025 hearing, the transcript records Mr. Patterson saying that I "love to talk about guns," that my "relationship with guns is concerning," warning that people could be "caught in the crossfire," and later portraying me as someone who "needs a gun to solve his problems." I stated on the record that I hated guns, had never owned one, and would never have one. I found it profoundly disturbing to be portrayed through repeated gun-related language when I was expressly denying any interest in owning a firearm. The same transcript records Mr. Patterson referring to "his bipolar disorder" while denying my concern that mental-health labeling was being used against me. I experienced the combined gun and mental-health framing as stigmatizing and dehumanizing--an effort to turn disputed allegations into a frightening portrait of an armed and mentally unstable person. A separate and extremely serious discrepancy involved Dakota County Crisis. A sworn filing in the case stated that a crisis-team member had contacted counsel and that the entire office had been alerted about me. A Dakota County Crisis supervisor later wrote that she had searched the system and consulted with colleague supervisors, found no record or recollection of such an alert, found no documentation of a duty-to-warn event, and stated that the team does not communicate directly with attorneys. In my view, a discrepancy involving a claimed government warning was too consequential to be left unresolved. It deserved a prompt, transparent, and documented explanation. Mr. Patterson also asked the court not to consider approximately fifty exhibits because he said he had not received them. I am not claiming in this review that the service objection itself constituted misconduct. I am describing the consequence as I experienced it: severe allegations were presented while a substantial body of my responsive evidence was not considered at that hearing. The matter ultimately resolved by stipulation before the scheduled evidentiary hearing. The most severe characterizations were therefore not adjudicated through that scheduled hearing. The litigation nevertheless caused profound personal, financial, and reputational harm. I found Mr. Patterson's approach unnecessarily escalatory, stigmatizing, and damaging. I would not recommend him. Strong advocacy does not require turning another human being into a caricature of mental illness and violence. Family-law attorneys exercise enormous power, and that power should be matched by factual precision, restraint, professional judgment, and accountability.

The answer stayed the same -- a phone call first. I asked three times which rule required the call and never got an answer to that question. No records were provided. While Christine Boulay, his assistant was pleasant, when Steve called me back to discuss the case, he was flat, unenthusiastic, and uninterested. Against my better judgement I retained him anyway as I wanted to get started as soon as possible. At no time did Steve Messick call me to explain the process of the case or what to expect. In fact, as the case moved along over the summer, there were actually incidents of him asking ME what to do!! WTH!? I'm paying you thousands of dollars to help me navigate these shark infested waters, and you're asking me what to do!?! I had to tell him yet again what I needed/wanted, even though he feigned that he already knew... Then, as important dates approached, such as filing a motion in court, the firm would hit me with another huge bill. This happened three separate times, and I found it ironic that these bills would appear right when we were at a critical point in the case process. No coincidence! 100% planned! And poor form!! I also had to constantly stay on top of Christine with case progress. I had to e-mail and call multiple times any time I needed an update on the status of any event, such as if the motion was filed in court, whether or not the opposing party had been properly served, whether or not I needed to attend certain meetings etc. In short, communication was TERRIBLE!!! In the end Christine sent me three different invoices all for the same services, with three DIFFERENT amounts!! When I questioned her about this, she wrote me an extensive e-mail trying to explain away her lack of attention to detail and non-communication! After them trying to send me yet another bill for $1900, I was DONE!! I let them know how crappy this was. Then, without a phone call of ANY kind to resolve the miscommunication, this JERK of an attorney simply filed paperwork withdrawing his services as my attorney...2 WEEKS BEFORE THE HEARING DATE!!! This spells in no uncertain terms: ZERO CHARACTER, and the WORST that most people see in attorneys!! Unless you want to experience all of the above and worse, DONT CONTACT THIS FIRM!!! P.S. I hired a smart, competent, female attorney from a different firm the same day, and told them as well to NEVER refer anyone to Steve Messick!
