And, we are very pleased with how the whole project proceeded and was managed both on and offsite. The whole project started with a vist by Joel Cole to assess and consult. Joel was very generous with his time and knowledge and we received an appropriate and reasonably priced bid. When it came time to begin the project they were actually able to get an early start for us on it, which was very welcome! We received a highly skilled and experienced crew who were always respectful to us and our property. When the project ran into complications due to wood rot, Joel's crew offered excellent innovative solutions grounded in sound logic and good practices. Joel was able to secure for us clearly the best mason in the area to do our brick work. With decades of knowledge and experience in his field he built a brick wall that for us looks like a piece of artwork. And we are confident it will stand up to the elements over time. After reaching out numerous times for bid, on ph And no reply.or return call. I personally stopped by office in aberdeen. Was Invited into office to discuss job, after going into detail of what I wanted built. Was told they would contact us in week or so to review job site. Well here it isloi months later, no call. No communication etc. I am done with them. Sad day when contractor doesn,t reply after profusely apologizing and states they are interested in job.then just shines you on. read more

Joel Cole Construction does excellent work. They saved our rental property. The building was leaning and needed to be jacked up and new support posts installed. The house is a 3 unit two story with an above ground basement. They had the posts specially made to fit the antique posts they were replacing. The job was done seamlessly in one day with no residual damage to the property. No cracked windows or anything. The cost of the work was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them for any big jobs you need to have done to your building. read more

We hired Joel Cole Construction to do some work on our deck, which is on the second floor. When the work was claimed to be completed, several issues were found that were corrected. Overall, it was good work. Issues corrected were related to connector plates not fastened to the deck at all. Other issues, some of which they apologized for, and some not, were: they ate meals in our house, left garbage on the table, didn't flush the toilet, stained a carpet, a very small amount of money (less than $5 in change) went missing, support under two door sills was not installed. Joel Cole Construction claimed there was never any support there. Instead of mailing back our key when they finished, we got an empty envelope. Joel Cole Construction claimed a Post Office Employee must have opened the envelope, removed the key, and resealed the envelope. The key was on a key fob, too thick and heavy to mail without special handling and postage. Joel Cole Construction paid for all the new locks I put on the house. There are lights under the deck. PVC pipe carries the wires to the lights, and the pipe is supposed to be held in place with brackets. Several brackets were not replaced (I found one bracket and screws over the back door). The wind blew the pipe down and took out where the pipe was joined to the electrical junction box. Joel Cole Construction did not offer to fix as they claimed vandals must have done it. read more

Beware of doing work with this company. They will give you a price and then attempt to raise the price mid way through the process. Make sure you get a written proposal which outlines the work to be performed and the EXACT price to have the work done in its entirety. read more

Do your research before using this company. We chose a product for a deck based on the contractor's recommendation. The contractor stated several times that they would stand behind the product. The deck is less than two years old and the product is coming apart, either from faulty installation or the product itself. Also, the crew damaged a door window and it has not been replaced. No follow through or customer service!! Beware! read more

Got the worst customer service and rudeness I've ever been subjected too from a contractor. I asked for an estimate for several remodeling projects at my home. Randy V came out and spent a long time measuring things, asking me a lot of questions, and said he'd be back in touch. I waited for several weeks, then called again but I couldn't get a hold of anyone so I was forced to leave messages. None of my messages were ever returned. Over two months later I finally reached Randy again, who obviously didn't even remember me, and he briskly replied that he'd have to "look up" who I was and what my estimate was, and then hung up. The next morning instead of a phone call, I received a curt email saying "the owner of the company" was "not interested" in doing my projects, without any further explanation. It was literally a one-sentence brush off, without a single apology for *wasting over two months!* of my time after being promised an estimate. It's insulting and infuriating. Guess what guys... it's a small community, and when you treat people like garbage word gets out sooner or later. read more
