DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! They are dishonest and VERY misleading! I rented a place from them in the first week of August that advertised it slept 8. We were a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. When we arrived, there were crumbs on the kitchen table but initially we overlooked it and didn't call because we all were in a car for five hours. We also came to learn that all the dishes were sticky and we washed them, drinking glasses had mold in them and there was hair in the refrigerator. The next morning we used the toaster, which was so old, it was burned on the top and seemed never to be emptied so there was a lot of smoke from use. One of the beds, the mattress had broken springs, the pullout couch, mattress on that was totally shot so bought an air mattress. WiFi worked for one night then nothing after that therefore only tv in living room would work. There was a cot that the mattress on that was stained and shot as well. Needs replaced. Intitially we were told to stop at the office of where we rented to pick up pool passes and extra parking permit. Nothing was told to us we needed to spend $90 to get these things, but we did. Issues were brought up upon check out and MARYLU who works at the Rehoboth Office was very loud and boisterous arguing with us. Then stated they would reimburse us the $90 fee for parking pass and $100 for our "troubles". As of this date 9/12/22 we have not heard anything back from MARYLU after numerous emails were sent to her, along with proof I payed for pool passes. MARYLU did advise me that we could have stayed in the 4 seasons room because there was a pullout bed...which there wasn't it was a bamboo or whicker futon, the room had no air conditioning and in august it was at least 90 degrees in the room and the screen was ripped and had a huge bug between the screen door and sliding door. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY. Absolutely a horrible experience and they never respond back to you after your stay and do nothing to satisfy the customer. read more

I highly recommend you never rent from this agency. My husband and I made the mistake of renting from Joe Maggio Realty. If you are a responsible adult go elsewhere. This agency clearly only rents to teenagers. If you have any concerns or issues they will disregard and dismiss you. Not too mention the fact that they will blame any mistakes they make on the renter. Please look elsewhere to rent. The owner (I repeat) owner of our rental unit, who does not live on site, called the agency to complain that we had teenagers, apparent "junebugs??" in the apt. My husband and I do not have children. So the rental agency sends over two people to pound on our door and demand to see the "kids and the unit". I can only tell you that I was extremely upset by the attack at the door and still have not received an apology from the rental agency or the owner. Despicable way to treat a customer. read more

We rented one of Joe's properties for a week through Airbnb. He gave us a negative review, stating that the house took longer to clean than usual, despite us leaving the home in very good condition. When we asked about the review, Joe said the cleaning service complained and he sent us a picture of a bathroom trashcan with used diapers coming out of it. We explained that we don't use that brand of diapers and sent a picture of the ones we use. He said he would look into it and get back to us. Several weeks later, after several requests for an update, he responded that the cleaning service said it was that date and that they also had to clean up a shredded gray dog bed. We sent Joe a picture of our very much intact red dog bed and explained we didn't bring a gray dog bed. Joe told us he wasn't spending any more time on this and refused to take down his review, which is clearly based on a different family's stay. His communication with us has been rude and unprofessional. read more

My husband and I rented in Rehoboth for a week, and Joe Maggio Realty was the realtor that held the rental. While we had a few issues with the house, my complaint was with how this company handled our concerns. 1st concern-The air conditioning in the house did not work properly, and the realtor, Mary Lou, got in touch with the owner. The owners of the house have a Nest system, which apparently only cools the house to the temperature that you want when it senses you moving around in the house, otherwise, the house temperature can go back up to 74 degrees. After we figured this out, I told Mary Lou that the house was getting really warm when we slept (a balmy 74 degrees), and she said that they may be able to bring in fans, otherwise, we were just going to have to lower the temperature every time we walked past the thermostat. That's kind of annoying, especially when you go out, you return to a hot house that has to catch up just to cool dow. Then her response was that there was nothing she could do. We were staying in a nice development, paid a lot of money for the house and there was nothing they could do??? 2nd concern-There was a thin red line through the TV in the living room of the house. The owner of the house had arranged to have a new TV delivered on Friday, the last full day of our trip. I explained to Mary Lou that since my husband works nights, and has a hard time adjusting back to an earlier schedule on vacation, we wouldn't want the TV delivered until the afternoon. She said that this would not be a problem. I did not hear anything from her for the rest of the week. In the meantime, between having a nagging feeling that the TV would be delivered early and disturb our vacation sleep, as well as getting some work done, we ended up leaving late Thursday night. Well, I get a voicemail the next morning at 9:30AM from Mary Lou asking me to let the TV delivery men in, she was on her way to the rental house, but wasn't there yet. I got the voicemail the next day in the comfort of my own home, and was EXTREMELY happy that we decided to leave the night before. All in all, it just seems like this company knows that you are only renting for a week, and really doesn't care about your experience. I can guarantee that when we rent again next year we will make sure that we don't rent from anyone who uses Joe Maggio Realty to manage their properties, nor will we rent the same property that we rented. read more

Joe, clearly you were miss informed . We never asked to cancel out reservation prior to check in. We checked in late and was welcomed by the insanitary conditions as previously described. If as the owner of this Reality business, you consider soiled bed covers and blood stained beds as stellar conditions , well it gives a clear understanding of the low level of your standards and professionalism, and you really should not be in this business. read more

I used this company to book a trip for a destination wedding in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It was so disappointing. When we got there, the carpets were soaking wet from cleaning up after the previous guests. There were BLOODY handprints on the banister that led to the bedrooms, the apartment reeked of mildew, there was broken furniture, the locks were broken. I called the management company and when they came to the apartment they sprayed air freshener, wiped off the railing, and said they thought it was fine. I called back multiple times to complain that it smelled so bad of mildew that people could smell it on our clothes when we visited with others in town for the wedding. The staff at Joe Maggio said they'd call back, they were contacting the owner, they thought it was resolved, and a million other excuses without EVER getting back to me. When I returned the keys they said it was a holiday weekend and the owner of the property was enjoying it too so he wasn't available! Needless to say, I am still fighting to get some kind of relief for the week from hell! They are so unprofessional and treat their customers so poorly. There were a ton of other issues with the apartment, but long story short......I'd stay far away from this place and it's slumlords. read more
