Those reviews are from such a long time ago. Dr. Fox has one of the highest quality of employees. From Dr Fox, the office manager, the lab workers, my Nurse Practitioner, her assistant, and the front of the office. They are all top notch professionals, kind, caring, and compassionate. It is one of the only offices of the many I go to that do not treat you like a number on a file. They encourage me to take my time explaining my issues AND THEY LISTEN ! They treat me with kindness and respect ALWAYS. The entire office is very responsive to any and all my needs. Weather it is rescheduling an appointment or a new type of pain that has started, the employees at Active Healthcare go above and beyond to help me. I have seen them treat other patients and the "office culture" runs true throughout. Patients and their caregivers are treated with dignity and respect. I would Not recommend any office other than ACTIVE HEALTHCARE for weight loss, aging maintenance and Pain Management, etc.

I switched Pain Centers about 6 months ago and Dr Fox actually took the time to examine me and introduce himself. My last place never even looked at my back plus I never met the doctors only staff and PA. Rachael is a very good listener and takes the time to get to know you as a person. You never feel rushed and treated like an assembly line at a factory. She is very intelligent and very compassionate on what she does. Chelsea is also very nice and I enjoy going there every month. The staff are very professional (everyone is). As busy as they are they always smile and take good care of you. Teresa Mustaffa

I was rushed through the procedure. I could barely stand on one foot but wasn't even helped onto the fairly high table. The numbing didn't even take effect before the injection was given. I wasn't helped off the table either even though I had to reach down to the floor for my sock and shoe. I was given NO after care instructions and was not told to call if there were any problems. They just wanted me out the door as quickly as possible. I walked out stunned. Terrible experience. Will never go back!

The Therapy department of Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance ON BEARDEN HILL ( at 6484 KINGSTON PIKE )…read moreOVER BOOKS clients and doesn't supervise the therapy or have enough room or equipment to accommodate the therapy needed. The people are nice enough to you and knowledgeable about what they ate doing but on my LAST visit, I was ignored and or forgotten. Two of us were taken back by an employee , I was told to wait where I was and the therapist DIDNOT come back to start me on what I needed to do. I waited and someone came and asked if I wanted heat first, when before I started therapy it was NOT an option. Then I was assigned a movement, the lady left, after the timer went off, she didn't know right away what the next move should be. She was running from one patient to another, she seemed flustered and with good reason (OVER BOOKED) and I was quietly getting flustered myself, then after a few NEW moves I was NOT watched to be instructed if I was doing them correctly, it took her a while to return to give me further instructions on what's next. It wasn't just me being overbooked and waiting on someone. Then the lady instructed me to a table , told me to lay on my back and she left me there and didn't give me further instructions, I played there a little while, she still didn't return, so I sat up and another employee said are you done? I said , she NEVER told me what to do! I was again being patient because I knew I was NOT coming back to this facility. TOA is aggressive with the Therapy which caused me to delay therapy because I couldn't use my arm for 4 days after one aggressive session. I talked to the owner and he tried to JUSTIFY it instead of listening to what I was trying to relay to him, after that, he wasn't acknowledging me at all where he didn't to much before. The atmosphere is nice, comfortable, BUT for the OVER BOOKing Clients makes it SO frustrating to do therapy there. I have improved since surgery, but took patience at TOA. I've had therapy before at other facilities and had the one on one service and did very well without the waiting, being forgotten for a time, and not being supervised to make sure I'm doing the moves correctly. The therapist are nice, but I DON'T recommend Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance if you are serious about your Therapy. TOA, STOP OVER BOOKING CLIENTS AND WORRY ABOUT GIVING THE CORRECT THERAPY AND ATTENTION TO YOUR CLIENTS. MAKE IT ABOUT THERAPY AND NOT ABOUT MONEY if not for the overbooking then, I would recommend.

After talking with him for a bit, I agreed to see Dr. Yau, one of the other doctors within their practice. Well I just came from my appointment with Dr. Yau. I was a little nervous given my negative experience with Dr. Ivie, but Dr. Yau gave me the complete opposite experience! He looked at the SAME X-rays Dr. Ivie looked at (who told me there was nothing wrong) and immediately he was able to show me what was wrong, his concerns, and how he'd like to go about fixing the problem, avoiding surgery if possible. Dr. Yau not only took the time to listen to everything I had to say, but he asked me questions regarding the problem, and even had a good sense of humor! I enjoyed my visit with him and would HIGHLY recommend him to others without any hesitation!

I couldn't have asked for a Dr. any more knowledgeable or personable than Dr. Branham. I want to thank everyone at TOC for an awesome visit and helping me.

After 2 trips to the ER, we went to see the neurosurgeon on April 6. He referred us to the Pain Consultants in Knoxville, TN for a shot. He said we could get fairly quickly with them. We finally got an appointment on April 17. This was just a CONSULTATION. They scheduled us for a shot on April 23. By the 23rd, he had been in bed on his stomach for a week. On April 23, Dr. Schott put a shot in his back. I tried to ask her questions and find out what could be done if the shot did not work as prescribed. She walked out of the room leaving her nurse to answer our questions. The nurse made a return appointment on May 21. The shot did not work. We went back to the neurosurgeon for a follow up on April 29. He determined that the first shot was in the wrong place and prescribed a second shot in the correct spot for the pain. We waited a week and did not hear from the Pain Consultants so we called them. They told us THEY would determine if we needed another shot. We cannot believe their arrogance thinking they should supersede doctor's orders. By this time, it has been 8 weeks since this all began. They told us we would have to wait for May 21 for another CONSULTATION to even schedule another shot which would be another week or so out from that because they could not give a shot the same day as a CONSULTATION. If you are in pain, this is not the place for you. The Pain Consultants and Dr. Schotts do not put the welfare of patients first. No one should have to suffer for so long between times they are seen. How dare Dr. Schott's think she could or should override doctor orders. Her arrogance is beyond words.
