Another one of the great local hardware stores in the city. Any time I have the opportunity to come…read moreto a local place, I do. Huffstutlers has never been on my radar before. But when I needed some hardware and had a meeting in Homewood, this was a suggestion by my wife. Most of the local places like this have been in their locations for years and are dated... which is part of the charm. This one however is either in a newer building or has been updated. But not knowing the history, I can't say for sure. The people inside were very helpful. Which was nice since I would have never found anything that I needed without Lewis and Clark. They mostly had what I needed. But I did notice some of the hardware drawers I looked in were bare. Luckily they had the quantity of the size toggle bolt I thought I needed (I ended up being wrong). All in all a pretty good experience.

This is a classic hardware store! I have been concerned that they were mostly gone, so finding…read morethis little gem was a wonderful surprise! I had to get a couple of keys cut, so went to Huffstutler's early today. The key cutting was quick, and they work perfectly! They have just about everything you need there, and even offer rentals! And not just rentals on equipment, on special occasion rentals too! Friendly people and great service!

I'm so disappointed in this shop. I have spent a lot of money here over the years on gifts and…read moreplants but the last few interactions have left such a bad taste in my mouth, I won't be back. They always seem annoyed by questions or even just me being there (maybe their grumpiness is part of their charm??) but the poor customer service has been on another level. I bought a plant in the spring that was mislabeled and when it bloomed, it was the wrong plant and was actually invasive. I called to let the shop know and they didn't offer a refund or replacement, even though I had to tear it out and destroy it. (We will see this spring if I was able to remove it all or if I have a difficult problem on my hands now.) I decided to try them again and just stopped in for a hostess gift and bought something from the discounted table and the man behind the counter made it so uncomfortable when I corrected them after being charged full price. They also offered to add a bow and tacked on a $5 charge, which seems excessive especially given the lack of upfront notice on the price. I really want to support local small businesses but I genuinely don't understand how they expect customers to want to keep coming back when they present themselves in such a manner.

They went above and beyond, even using a beautiful hanging basket that makes her look absolutely gorgeous. When I picked her up, I was honestly so excited to see how beautiful and full she looked hanging in her new home. You can tell there is genuine care, knowledge, and love for plants behind what they do, and that means so much to someone like me who has really fallen in love with growing and collecting plants. I'm so grateful for the time and attention they gave mine. I'm already looking forward to doing more business with Plantique and building a relationship with them as my collection continues to grow. I have a feeling they'll be seeing quite a bit of me! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my girl!
