LOUIE IS THE MAN! I've been getting my taxes done here for 6 years I believe? I was referred by a family member, I've had my taxes done by Justin, his father, his uncle, and Louie. I've had great experiences with each one, they were all great to spend a couple hours with and so helpful as far as taxes go. All of them completed taxes for me and my boyfriend and we both were very pleased with our services provided by all of them. Now let's go to Louie. Louie did my taxes last year, we talked the whole time and he was great. He is very thorough, experienced (he's been doing this forever.) and honest. I don't have a great understanding of taxes or how everything works and he does a great job of "explaining taxes in depth for dummies." Flash forward this year. I just opened a small business I started some aspects of the business with another company (I was in a hurry to get my S Corp paperwork in. Didn't even think of JJT and literally hate myself for not going there first because I was in a rush and panicked.) So once the dust settled and I had to put the pieces back together and get my small business organized and running I reached out to JJT. And who gives me a call?? LOUIE! We talked on the phone for almost an hour and got me in the right place and organized which he did not have to do, I'm So grateful He really took his time and ensured I understood everything. I took pages of notes and felt so much more confident. (again hating myself for not going here first!) Louie really knows what he's doing, if you are starting a business, you run a business already and want to switch companies (they literally do it all.), or taxes. Louie is the guy. Once I have my opening and begin making a steady revenue I plan on keeping in contact with Louie for business advice and planning, and obviously moving forward with all my business needs with Louie. He prepared our returns right after that and sent them back to us for review the next day!! we've been with Justin's firm since the early 90's when his dad was still the major partner of this business. I don't use them and they are calling me, I always use other people because other people don't mess up my taxes I always check to make sure I am getting everything I can and that is tricky but these guys trying to annoy me till I go with them is stupid. JJT Firm is my go-to tax office. I've been going to Justin for years - he is very thorough and willing to answer all my questions. I'm not sure why other reviewers had a negative experience, but Justin is always on time, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I haven't had any issues with scheduling, since I always opt for a weekday appointment. The new location has plenty of parking and is very close to Island Pacific and other shops. I've referred several people to JJT and they have all had a wonderful experience with large refunds. I'll be a client for life! read more

What a horrible experience! I call to get help from Justin for 4 months to no avail. He wouldn't return phone calls,msgs or emails. Think twice before going here. We've been coming here for decades despite the long drive. Things have drastically changed for sure. You'll start to lose customers if you don't change your ways. read more

I no longer will be coming here! first off, my 'rents no longer go here... they used to go to Rosell Tarroza (Justin's father), but after they got audited $10,000 by the IRS, they decided to find another CPA firm. I, on the other hand, decided to still stay... what a mistake! I noticed that I didn't get the full amount for my 2013 CA state tax refund of $206; they only have me $198. now that's just an $8 difference, & I don't want that extra $... I only wanted an explanation as to why I only got a lesser amount. Justin told me that I'd receive an explanation in a couple of weeks, but that letter never came, so he suggested I contact the franchise tax board. (note: I felt that HE should've looked over my paperwork & HE should've called the FTB instead...) anyways, after looking over what I'd sent to the FTB for review, the agent told me that the tax liability insurance amount was completely different since he might've e-filed twice & entered a different amount, & that's most likely where the discrepancy was. they also double-checked 2012, & the same thing happened. they're not allowed to contact any CPA firm directly, but CPAs can, on behalf of a client. I tried making several attempts to call (3 times) & email (twice) Justin afterwards, but to no avail -_- not cool & not professional! I have limited patience when it comes to someone messing up my money, so I won't be coming back since I can't trust that he's actually doing his job correctly... I mean, I have yet to hear back from him. read more

Wow! Talk about the wrong stuff. I use to come here every year for tax season, I referred a number of people to Rosselle, (Justin's father), When it was Just Ross in Northridge. This place was decent but for unknown reasons closed and moves to Sherman Oaks under the son's name. I currently went to Justin's new place in Sherman Oaks, JJT Firm, and it's terrible. It progressively got worse every year. Let me begin: First, I booked an appointment with Justin, who at the last minute pawns me off to this new guy, who says he hasn't been doing taxes and is in "training" but reassures me that Justin will review the work. Justin walks in, and doesn't say a word to me. Doesn't even remember me. It's okay, I figure as long as he gets the taxes right. I've only been customer for 5 years. He reviews my taxes and says everything looks good. So, I paid the highest amount I've ever had to pay for in my entire life. Then when I advised him about my school write off he says, "you can't use that unless you've gone to school for more than X amount of weeks." I couldn't believe it. I paid and I walked out of that place. This year, I went to another place. And let me just tell you, the new place I went to looked at my last years tax return, which was done by JJT and he said, "either these guys didn't know what they were doing or they were just lazy trying to get you out of there." I was very happy with my return and I will continue to go this new place! Best return place I've been to. As for those still considering to use JJT for there taxes...well, good luck! I feel bad for the 2 people who had a bad experience but my brother and I have been coming here for years and have never been unsatisfied. Every year I leave my taxes to the very last minute but I decided to get them done early this year - they've moved to Panorama City! I love this location much more than Sherman Oaks because there is plenty of free parking and it's easy to get to. I go to Justin and he is friendly and personable. Maybe because I don't have super complicated taxes but he is pretty quick to get them done. He follows up with me when I have questions and returns my calls. JJT Firm is loyal and I really trust them. I will be coming here for as long as they are in business. If you are in need of a tax firm, I highly recommend JJT Firm.
