I asked what the tuneup was, they said replacing the spark plugs and that would cost $136. I'm thinking that much for four spark plugs and total cost of $740? So I decided to call Ty at MobileMechanicSA. He said the gasket is fairly common but the wire set and coil may not need replaced, he'd test it while repairing the gasket. He came to the house, worked on the car in the driveway, was very pleasant and explained everything he was doing while working on it. He tested the coils and agreed it needed replaced. In the end, my daughter's car is back to firing correctly and driving smooth and it cost $220 vs $740. I have 3 vehicles, I'll be calling Ty for everything now. ----update---- So this year I discovered that my daughter's car, a 99 Corolla with the 1ZZFE engine consumes oil abnormally. It ran out of oil and seized. I needed a new engine for it, I called Ty. He said he could do the engine swap which surprised me I figured I'd have to go to a garage to get that done. He helped me find and purchase an engine that comes from Japan with ~50k miles on it and swapped them out. We actually had some issues with the engine due to the company's misleading ad we bought the engine from based out of New York. But Ty was very professional and did an excellent job explaining the situation and helping us fight the company in New York for a refund. In the end, Ty did an excellent job swapping the engines and helping us fight the crooks in NY and all for half the cost it would have cost going to a garage. He is the real deal and can be trusted and that is priceless in my opinion.

Over $3,400. I told them I only wanted the actuator replaced, since it's a simple fix. They agreed that would save money, but their "reduced" estimate was still over $1,100. I said I'd think about it, drove straight over, picked up my truck, and dropped it off somewhere else. The next morning, everything was fixed for $246.81. I don't mind paying to repair my vehicles, but trying to upsell thousands of dollars in unnecessary work is crooked. I would steer clear of this place.

Refrigerant leaked out within 6 months and the shop covered fixing the leaky seal but when it leaked out again shop said 'Too bad, out-of warranty'. 2nd shop fixed the leak and lasted another year. They discharged the system ($$) refilled it with fresh 134A and leak-check ($$) and said condenser coil and Schrader valves were leaking. Charged for the diagnostic service ($$$) but said to bring it back when fixed and they would service it. Brought it back with the new parts installed but now told they would have to vacuum down the system again and refill, then charge again for new diagnostic, too. Instead drove another year w/o A/C before coming to Carlisle. Spoke to to Robert, gave him a condensed version, including what I had replaced. Car was fixed the NEXT DAY.
