My daughter's car was having problems. We took it to a garage we do trust and they diagnosed a…read morevalve cover leak, so the valve cover gasket, ignition wire set, and an ignition coil needed replaced, plus a tuneup. I asked what the tuneup was, they said replacing the spark plugs and that would cost $136. I'm thinking that much for four spark plugs and total cost of $740? So I decided to call Ty at MobileMechanicSA. He said the gasket is fairly common but the wire set and coil may not need replaced, he'd test it while repairing the gasket. He came to the house, worked on the car in the driveway, was very pleasant and explained everything he was doing while working on it. He tested the coils and agreed it needed replaced. In the end, my daughter's car is back to firing correctly and driving smooth and it cost $220 vs $740. I have 3 vehicles, I'll be calling Ty for everything now. ----update---- So this year I discovered that my daughter's car, a 99 Corolla with the 1ZZFE engine consumes oil abnormally. It ran out of oil and seized. I needed a new engine for it, I called Ty. He said he could do the engine swap which surprised me I figured I'd have to go to a garage to get that done. He helped me find and purchase an engine that comes from Japan with ~50k miles on it and swapped them out. We actually had some issues with the engine due to the company's misleading ad we bought the engine from based out of New York. But Ty was very professional and did an excellent job explaining the situation and helping us fight the company in New York for a refund. In the end, Ty did an excellent job swapping the engines and helping us fight the crooks in NY and all for half the cost it would have cost going to a garage. He is the real deal and can be trusted and that is priceless in my opinion.

I'm aware of dealer service pricing, so I asked AI for service shops with reputations for honesty and integrity, and this place was one of the recommended shops. Everything is now running smoothly. In addition he pointed out an issue with my battery connection, and I was able to take my car back to the quick oil change place I use and get them to fix it for free. Communication was very good with ASE throughout, they were very friendly and helpful, and I am very happy with the experience. Would definitely use them again!

I brought my car here for a wheel bearing repair…read more The first time they tried to fix it, they put the bearing in wrong and it caused my wheel to shake on the road and it appeared the axle bolt was cut on my car with an angle grinder and it wasn't cut before... I brought it back to them. "Your safety is my number one priority." - Pete The second time he gave it back to me the car had a used wheel bearing from another car in it that is covered in rust (verified this from an ASE master mechanic who took the wheel off and inspected it), my windshield was cracked, my car was out of alignment, brakes were very squishy, my E-brake did not work at all, and my wheel that had the work done on it is now making a very loud POP! every time I go over any type of bump on the road with it. (I had gotten my car aligned less than 6 months prior and the steering wheel was perfectly strait when driving strait) "Your safety is my number one priority." - Pete After bringing my car back to at least have the brakes bled and the E-brake tightened, Pete was not there so I had to call him to figure out who to talk to in order to be helped. He told me to ask for a particular mechanic (forgot his name) who should be working there. I went around and asked the mechanics if any of them were who he told me to ask for and they all brushed me off and shrugged their shoulders. Finally, he just told me to just hand the phone to one of the guys because he knew they were toying with me. I tried and tried and tried to keep giving this shop the benefit of the doubt. To be patient and understanding. But the reality of the situation is they charged me full price for a rusty part that they had lying around their car lot and messed up more with my car than they "fixed". I still do not feel safe driving this car. "Your safety is my number one priority." - Pete

Both times Ewing was fast, friendly and reasonably priced. They were upfront about the fact that they cant warranty the work done with the Sensors because they didnt procure the parts, which is fine, I bought high quality parts from a reputable source when I thought I could do it on my own. They also had an issue with the OEM heater core and had to get a second replacement, but they communicated the issue promptly and since there was no rush, it did not impact me at all. My one complaint is that upon reviewing the work, I noticed some extra screws laying around, one body panel plug was loose and a lower dash panel was reinstalled incorrectly. None of these are deal breakers, you cant call any job done unless you have extra screws left over and the body plug is such a small issue its only worth bringing up to set expectations for when you work on an 12 year old car. I will not bring any of my vehicles anywhere else when I come across a problem I cant fix on my own, I trust Ewing completely, they have earned my business for life.

They advertise AC repair in cars.. I went in 3 different times because my car was under "warranty"…read moreafter the first time. I paid around $3,500 for the first repair of my AC on my 2015 Camaro for the ac (blend door and actuator that's what they said was wrong during diagnostic) it worked for about a week and stopped. I took it back and then it was another issue (actuator again and compressor) actuator was covered BUT I needed to pay an additional $500 for the compressor... then the problem would be solved and would be good to go... (now we are at $4,000 (the Chevy dealership quoted me at $500-$4,000 so no big deal) a month later, I hear a clicking sound coming from the under the glove box on the passenger side when you turn AC on so I take it back because once again... the ac is not working. This time the guy come out, looks at it in the parking lot, hears the sound it's making, bangs on the underneath of the glove box (the sound stops and the ac kinda works), he said "if it stops again bring it back.Your heater blower is going out." I was baffled... I asked "how much that would be" he said "part and labor, you're looking at around $250-300" mind you, the female receptionist was outside too when this happened... I said "ok" and left. This all happened last summer but I'm just now trading my car in. I have all the receipts and paperwork still.
