We were in Roscommon two days and spent both of them watching horse racing and having the best time here! The locals are friendly and the barkeep Paul is the best. He gave us the best advice on what to order and the absolute best restaurant tecommendation. One of my favorite nights on our recent trip to Ireland was here. I'm an American, and we like our craft beer nice and hoppy. I found they had a GREAT selection of craft beers and some of the best beers I had had until then. The pub definitely had an aged, comfortable feel to it with the traditional snugs. We also loved that we could order a local pizza and have it delivered to the bar to eat while we enjoyed our drinks. Later that evening we had a lovely discussion with one of the proprietors, Kashlin (although I'm probably butchering the spelling she told us it meant Kaitlin in Irish). Live music, 3 bar areas, superb value and friendly staff.. What's not to love ? One of the few bars around that has a wine and a gin menu!

Actually CANNOT believe that last post!! What utter rubbish, I drink in this pub most weekends with my friends (we are ALL women by the way) and the staff are so polite and friendly, actually know the Ginger and Darkhaired barmen personally and find these comments very hard to tolerate, they are both lovely respectful guy......methinks there could be more to this story?????
