Since moving to Sauk Centre, I must admit Jitters Java Cafe is one the best places around. Great costumer service and just an overall good experience every time I visit. The Jamaican Me Crazy coffee is really good. The Veterans, to include myself, around the Eagles Healing Nest always praise how good to the coffee is. Jitters is one of my go too places and will continue to support them within the community. I will most definitely recommend Jitters to people I know in the city and surrounding areas. I stopped by Jitters for a quick refuel during our drive from Alexandria; the cafe itself looks pretty cute! It's wide open, with lots of seating (including a patio area outside). It was really empty when we went in, definitely an off-peak hour, so that was sort of nice. I got an iced pistachio latte with oat milk. According to the syrup sign, they make them in-house, which is super cool! It wasn't my most favorite latte ever, something in it was a bit thick (maybe the pistachio?) but it was still tasty & got the job done. When we have more time, I'd love to stop back through and explore downtown Sauk Centre, since it all looks so cute! read more

I got here super early and spent three hours with a refillable cup of coffee and their "breakfast round" pastry. Wifi worked well, electrical outlet worked well, the seating was comfortable. We stopped at Jitters on our way up north. Thanks Yelp for helping us choose a good place! The restaurant is medium to large, with seating both inside and out. You place your order at the counter, get a number, then sit at your table and wait. We ordered a soup and sandwich - Beer Cheese Soup (nothing special) and the Turkey Ham and Cheese Panini (Yum!!), and the Strawberry Spinach Salad (very good!). Delicious! This gem is just off 94 on our trip from Minneapolis to NDSU in Fargo. It also serves as a good midpoint between the two or a place to take a break when traveling to and from school. The food is delicious. My son had the quiche and then went back to get a Reuben. Both were hot and delicious. I had the club sandwich and it too was toasted perfectly and had the right amount of fillings. They had diet orange soda and really good coffee drinks. This will become a favorite stop for us. Now if we could bring the dog! Looking forward to warmer weather when we could stop, eat outside and bring Hank! read more

Stopped by here to grab coffee. Upon driving up, the parking lot was very empty (due to COVID I'm assuming) so I wasn't sure if they were open. I drove up to the drive-thru window and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. I ordered a small cold brew and it came out very quickly. The beverage was fresh and delicious. My only suggestion would be to have a menu available outside the window. The barista handed me a menu after I drove up and also listed the options for me but having a menu outside would be helpful. Although, if not many folks use the drive-thru and the staff is patient, this probably isn't an issue :) I would come back to try their food because the reviews look great! read more

I stopped in for a coffee and a quick bite. The place was jumpin' with customers, far more than I expected for a small town coffee shop. The brew was right on with some great customer service. I ordered the mandarin chicken salad. It was basically romaine, spinach, grilled chicken, mandarin orange slices and candied nuts, but it was pretty good. The dressing was a little too thin for my taste, slightly thicker than water. I'd definitely stop in for coffee on the next trip through, but I'd probably try something a little more carb-laden and standard for coffee shops. read more

We stopped here on our trip North and are so glad we did. Not only was the coffee so so good we just mentioned it was my husband's birthday and the owner brought us a so so good pumpkin spice bar! Friendly service and great quality food. Our plates came quick and when you are in the middle of a 4 hour trip that is a plus. On a side note, this place seemed to be where all the locals lined up for lunch, as the usual road-food were the only choices. Great coffee and breakfast food but the real kudos go to over-the-top great service!! We had to have about six water bottles filled (biking) and the guy happily accommodated us!! Lots of yummy looking muffins, scones, cookies...this is a great place!! read more

Found a great little spot to stop on our travels! Great coffee and cookies (homemade, not frozen chain store type ) and very sweet service. We got there at closing time for a quick to-go treat and the worker was very helpful and had none of the annoyed air you might get in that sort of situation. Highly recommended it. Nice little cafe. We stopped for lunch on a Monday. My friend had the beef dumpling soup and a BLT and pronounced them very good. I enjoyed the flavorful 3 Cheese & Tomato panini - very tasty. Today I got a watery weak Americano at Jitters. So disappointed since I drove an embarrassing 40 miles from and back to Long Prairie. I come from the cities about 20 weekends a year and stop at least once a trip. Typically jitters is pretty consistent - love the breakfast wrap, the Asian chicken wrap, the scones and cookies, etc. I order an Americano with extra room about 2 inches. Come on its espresso and hot water! The extra room is because I add cool water and love the thick dark rich cup of coffee. A real Americano is same amount of water as espresso. I spend the same amount at Jitters as I do at Dunn Bros near my house. Food is better at Jitters but the coffee on a good day doesn't compare to Dunn Bros. Mostly the reason I'm giving Jitters three stars today is because I called - and I got a wondering of who made it, an ok and a come back again! Thanks for focusing on re-training but I just paid almost 4 bucks and drove 40 miles for a crappy coffee and all I get is a come back again! WHAAAAAT!?!?!? Yup, I'm bitter and putting it out there. You can do better. I think I'll focus on making my next stop at Mainstreet Coffee. read more

The cold brew I got seemed line it used reaaaally old beans, and, frankly, was one of the worst cold brew I've had. I will say that locals seem to be regulars there which is a good sign. It's a cute space, and perhaps their food is really good? It's got a lot of seating so I imagine people go there for breakfast/lunch. I know nothing about the city, but the name Jitters Java Cafe caught my eye. I don't know that I'll go out of my way to go there again, but they're likely doing something right. What a great surprise! Our colleague Dawn S. at RR Donnelley in Long Prairie took us to Jitters for lunch on 4/9. We had fabulous cappuccinos. 2 of us had sandwiches and 1 had lettuce wraps. Each of us finished our entire lunches. They also have a variety of desserts to suit your fancy. Jitters is VERY clean. And doubles as a wine bar at night, which is great! I will be back next time I come for a business trip. The husband-wife owners were both there and both interacted with to ensure we enjoyed lunch. There is a drive thru so u don't have to get out of your car in the cold! Love it! read more

What a find. We were on the way back to the Twin Cities from Glacial Lakes State Park and were on a quest to find a nice local coffee shop, which on a Sunday is quite the search indeed since most places are closed. The two of us were taking (medium) coffees to go and a bakery item each, which cost us all of $7 and some cents. That was a surprise. It's a cute place inside, but they do have a drive-thru if that suits your fancy instead. Staff was friendly, and I loved that they gave us the option of using ceramic mugs and plates instead of the disposables (without even having to ask, I should add). We got a rhubarb muffin and molasses cookie which were both delicious, though apparently not being a molasses connoisseur, was told that it could have used a bit more. In my opinion, both were great and hit the spot. They were out of their house coffee at the time, though there were a couple other blends as well which was just fine. It's a clean, well kept place that I would definitely stop at again and its just a short drive off the interstate. Take the time to walk around the downtown area too, it's a nice little city. read more
