Now that we are about to welcome fall in south Louisiana I thought I'd tell you about a great…read morelittle farm in Folsom where you can bring your family and have a really nice day. The Red Bluff Farm is a gem of a place that I was surprised to learn had not been reviewed here yet. I've been here several times on school field trips and enjoyed it so much that it's become a yearly tradition to take my kiddos here every October. Once you drive up and park you pay a small fee to enter the farm. The first thing you will notice are local vendors who have set up shops selling their wares. I've seen everything from handmade wind chimes to locally grown produce and honey being sold here. It's fun to browse and talk to the vendors and see the passion that they have for their products. Next you'll wind your way around a pretty little pond where you're sure to see many ducks. It's always a treat for the kids if there happens to be a mommy duck with her ducklings swimming in the pond. Set up around the farm are little stables with cute farm animals to observe and delight over. Calves, piglets, goats, bunnies and foal are what you can expect. They even let you feed some of the baby animals with bottles. Awwwww!! One of the biggest hits of the farm are the hayrides that are scheduled at the top every hour. The drive goes around to where the horses are housed and is an informative way to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into running a farm. The last thing we always do is each pick a pumpkin from the large pumpkin patch to bring home and carve. You definitely need to bring your family here! It's a really fun day trip perfect for autumn!
