My double room was clean and I had no issue settling in. The bar was open and I was able to order an amaretto shot (which tasted great, but wasn't strong) and a Diet Coke. I later ordered a chicken Caesar salad and an amazing chicken sandwich and was pleased with both items. My room contained an abundance of towels and pillows, something that other hotels often lack. I had the ability to request no cleaning service for my time there for complete privacy. The bed was comfortable and the alarm clock was used to ensure I got up on time on Saturday for a planned event. My only issues were related to food: 1) It took a really long time for food ordered at the bar to come out and 2) the breakfast bar was only so-so. Regarding the breakfast bar, the eggs were good and I enjoyed the blueberries and yogurt, but there were no biscuits available for the sausage gravy and my sausage patty was terrible. It was greasy and not nearly dense enough, reminiscent of a sponge. Also, there were only sugary drinks available, orange juice and some other fruit juice. I had to ask for a cup of water, only to receive a room-temperature cup with no lid handed to me by a service worker. Overall, this was a pleasant stay and I'm glad I had the chance to stay at the Eastland Suites!

Unfortunately they have some locals 'living' there or seem to, so its a bit offputting. Breakfast was good, staff polite and everything was clean and worked. Average is best description, good for one night passing thru.

The Station Theatre is host to Urbana's own community theatre group, the Celebration Theatre…read moreCompany. I've seen one show there, "Ug", which is a tongue in cheek take on stage productions generally, a la Waiting for Guffman, but set in prehistoric times. An anachronistic blast. Based upon the great fun I had attending a Friday night show, I will be back for more. The theater itself next to the train tracks (duh), about 200 feet back from Broadway and across the street from the IGA/County Market liquor store, and you can park for free in that lot. Tickets are $15 each for Friday night shows, but less during the week. We got our ticket 30 minutes before curtain without a reservation. Do note, however, they only accept CASH or CHECK. They have free coffee and cookies (you can donate for this, also) in the lobby and a friendly staff. The players for the show we attended were really good, and had a lot of fun with the show. They were much better than your stereotypical community theater actors. The set design and costumes were excellent. This is a great date after an early dinner in DT Urbana and just a short walk from several good places to grab a quick, cheap bite. If the show is appropriate for kids, this would be a great place to expose them to theater, as the theater itself is tiny and you really feel like you are a part of the show.

They do standard plays you'll certainly recognize, and others by local playwrights which are as good or better! Some very good acting here. It's a small place that welcomes local talent to audition.
