Like practically every gun store in this town (except Ubers) their prices are way too high because there's tons of young men walking around with multi thousand dollar paychecks in their pockets for the first time in their lives. When I asked for .44 magnum they offered me .44 special at nearly $70 a box. I literally laughed and asked if they were serious. After telling them AIM surplus sells .44 mag for under $40 a box they said "well we can't compete with online prices." Sir that's a $30 difference, not some dealer markup to keep the lights on. Never bought a gun but their prices seem to be the industry standard $50 above MSRP. I get competition with online gun sales and ammo must be tough but I'm trying to support my LGS and you guys make it really hard to do so with these crazy prices. Lastly their transfer fees are abysmal. They clearly want you to buy from them and discourage you from buying online through high fees. read more

Needed to store my firearm to visit the NAS museum, Jim's was close by and had reasonable storage fees! $10/gun per day. Very friendly and professional folks that work there. I ended up buying a mag loader when I picked up my firearm...they have so many options for anything gun related. Also good selection of knives etc. Will definitely keep in mind next time I'm ready to purchase another gun to add to my collection! read more

UPDATE: The manager contacted me directly and was reasonable and did his best to make things right. He felt bad for the mistake and was very professional. Even offered a store credit. However, I am still untrusting to ever putting a firearm I truly want on hold again. ------------ One thing to be aware of with JIMS FIREARMS is to never ask them to hold a firearm or believe them if they say they have put the firearm of interest in the back for you on hold. Even if you are a loyal customer! Friday I was told my name was put on the firearm and they were walking it to the back as we were speaking so I could come Monday morning to purchase. Little to my surprise when I showed up the firearm had been sold. No one there knew what happened. The excuse I was given was "It must have been a new person." Even though several other employees know me there. Needless to say, I guess I will be doing my firearms and accessories purchases at other firearm dealers in my local area instead of JIMS FIREARMS. My poor father who served in Vietnam aboard the USS SERATOGA has spent over $10K at this business the past year. He has supported this store ever since it opened. He comes in for 3 packs of slug shotgun shells (5 a pack) and they limit him... okay no problem. Dad will buy one and come back tomorrow for the next pack. And then the next day for the third pack so he can purchase his 15 shells he originally wanted. It's Jim's rules, oh well. Then upon the cash register checkout they tell him "we don't honor veterans anymore. No more military discount." Ahhhh what a great way to word this in a military town when your store is located right next to the NAS navy base where young men were just shot and killed on home base territory and where older men retire to remember how much they fought for our country. On the way out the door they tell my dad "missing your business won't hurt us any!". We will no longer be doing business with Jim's. Unfortunately they've lost my father spending 10k a year, myself buying a rifle or two a year, my uncle spending 10k a year, and my husband spending 5k a year. I hope this review inspires Jim's to reconsider how they treat their military families. read more

One of my Colt Pythons was in storage during a flood in 2016. I had no idea it had gotten wet. Recently I opened the case and discovered the oxidation. I feared I'd have to send it to Colt for re-nickel but Jim's did an AMAZING job polishing the gun for me. Thanks for the great work. Great store. Took my Remington 700 in there to get scope rings taken off (stuck like chuck) and they did it in about 5 minutes while I waited. They offer military discounts for gear so that's another plus. Competitive prices and great customer service will keep you coming back. I would recommend using this store especially if you have limited knowledge like I do. Extremely expensive compared to other stores in and around Pensacola. The staff is friendly enough, but not extremely helpful or knowledgeable. The store is clean, and the location is convenient.
