The estimate I received for the interior condo painting was for $9,748.85 which does not include the paint as I was planning to buy the paint as materials purchased by this company have a 50% added upcharge. The estimate I received for replacing the ceiling fan and two (2) toilet guts was $534.50. Based on extensive experience with hiring and paying for similar services I was quite shocked and disappointed with these estimates. As this company does not provide free estimates and charged me $100.00 for the estimates, I am also out this money as I am not hiring them for this work based on their exuberant fees. I needed a 2-plug electrical outlet relocated on the wall and replaced with a 4-plug outlet and a TV mounted on that wall with a mount that I had purchased. Mr. H quoted a price based on that description. I questioned if they should see the job first and was told no, the price is firm. The worker arrived at 9:30AM. Due to his incompetence he was here all day and had very little if any experience, as he was consulting "How To YouTube" Videos on his phone for every step of the job. He didn't have the tools and supplies needed and had to run to Lowes to purchase them. As he began to mount the TV he asked if I had a socket for his drill that would fit the head of the lag bolt for screwing into the stud, because it was too hard to do by hand. I went to a neighbor who let me borrow one, which he slyly tossed in his tool bucket and took it with him when he left. He finished around 4:30PM and showed me that the outlet worked by testing one of the plugs. When paying the bill on his computer tablet which showed an amount due of $560.00. The quote was $390.00. The worker phoned Mr. H and put me on the phone, and he explained that because he was here for many hours, he needed to charge me extra and for the other supplies he bought at Lowes, which were a spackling trowel and a large tub of spackle. I explained his flawed logic of me having to pay for his worker's tools, a large tub of spackle and hours that were never mentioned in the quote and paid the original price quoted. That evening, my wife and I settled in to watch TV, but now the TV would not function. I spent 3 hours on the phone with LG TV and Direct TV trying to figure out why I have a picture but cannot connect to Direct TV. We discovered that two of the new four outlets were not working. The worker came back the next morning and fixed it, using YouTube instructions again on his phone. I also took back the socket he stole and returned it to my neighbor. FINALLY finished? NOPE! That night I replaced a burned-out bulb in a lamp on an adjoining wall to the TV. It wasn't the bulb. Two of our wall outlets were not working because he created a short circuit in the new TV outlet. So much for his grasp of YouTube instructions. NOW, Mr. Handyman had to hire a REAL electrician to come out and fix it, which he did. The Electrician confirmed that it was hooked up so badly that he was surprised anything worked. I will be sending this experience to the corporate headquarters of the Mr. Handyman Franchise. R. We…read morecontracted him to do what equated to a 1/2 days worth of work at our beach house and we arrived at our home to find it in total disarray with complete strangers living there for what we think was approximately 3 days! This individual and his entire family decided to help themselves to our residence! This person was authorized to do what would have taken less than 1/2 days work with a 2 person crew. I entered my home on Friday afternoon to find all rooms were disheveled and the bathrooms and kitchen were filthy. Whomever these individuals were, they made themselves at home and took up residence! I walked in to find a stranger laying in one of my beds with candles lit and the television on. Upon questioning her she stated she was the girlfriend of one of the workers, then she apologized profusely because she knew she shouldn't have been there! While inspecting other rooms in my home she fled however, After a bit of reconnaissance work, I was able to determine who she was. What made these Individuals think that they could take up residence in someone's else's home under false pretenses is beyond me. Among other things, we found these strangers cooked their meals in the home, washed and dried their clothes, helped themselves to items we left in our pantry and refrigerator, and took it upon themselves to use our drawers and closets to store their belongings which included backpacks, cell phones, pill bottles and a host of other items! I would also be remiss in my review if I didn't mention the frozen turkey they left in my freezer. Clearly they didn't expect us to come back anytime soon. All of that and none of the work this person was contracted to do was completed! Thank goodness we showed up when we did or else I'm certain they would have been there for an extended period of time. Do not trust this person or you will find yourself in a similar situation!!! The pictures I am sharing are only a few which reflect the condition of my home upon entry. This is a now a matter which law enforcement is handling however, I wanted to warn people in case they come across this person. Something tells me this isn't the first time he has committed such an egregious act!
