Haffmans & Neumeister frames are incredibly difficult to find in the USA--practically impossible in California. Prices at Lunigal were unbeatable--every time I look at my new frames I feel a sense of satisfaction because I got them trouble-free for such a fantastic price. And now I have an awesome douchy brag when people ask me where I got my glasses, "Um, Paris. Yeah--Paris." Lunigal's online selection is also unique and eclectic. I doubt I will come across any locals in the San Francisco Bay Area that will have these frames--not only because they're rare here, but the Bay Area sense of style has become absolute MERDE since tech took over and stripped the area of its soul. But that's another story--I live to fight another day in savagely elegant style. Anyway, my frames were shipped immediately (pleasant surprise) and they reached California in a reasonable time, neatly packaged with a "merci" card and cleaning cloth inside. I could not be happier. Their clothes range from the decades 50's to 90's, so remember to try on whatever it is you have your eye on because there's a wide variety of cuts and styles. The staff here is also very friendly. And by the staff I guess I mean the one girl I've seen there -- a sweet 20 something with short brown hair. Always smiley and ready to help you zip up a dress you need help with. The only downsides: On the expensive side, there's only one dressing room, and the hangers the clothes are kept on are heavy, loud, and a bit hard to manage.

I believe I have carried this purse quite possibly every day since then. It's maybe my favorite purse of my entire lifetime! I'm not remembering how much I paid exactly--only that I thought it was an excellent deal. As time has worn on, the leather has just grown more soft and worn (in a good way). If you are going to be anywhere close--please do yourself a favor and check this place out. I also agree with the reviewer who commented on the staff in this store. You could spend most of a day here, no problem. There's a ton of high end stuff but also a fair amount of reasonably priced things that are easy to bring home - vintage linens, silver flatware, books, jewelry and much more. Now, these are experienced dealers so you're not going to get a real Chanel bag for $100 but I did think many of the prices were affordable. There's a epic poster shop, a fun dead stock store (Tombee Des Camions) and too many more to mention.

I have been frequenting Marche Vernaison and the surrounding other Flea Markets at St Ouen for…read moreyears. There are several all in the same area and they are open to the public on weekends. One can literally spent the entire day shopping and looking. It really is a mind blowing experience. Everything from the funky to the serious antiques. Looking for something weird and odd? You will find it. Looking for a dining table from 1600? You will find it. Marche Vernaison has a bit of everything but more of the funky odd items than the other Marche's close by. If it is your first time going and you plan to go by the Metro please heed my advise. You will get off at the Porte de Clingancourt Metro Stop. When you exit you will see a Flea Market off on the left side of the street with tents and such and will most likely think this is where it starts. WRONG! Yes there is a flea market there but it is a bit sketchy. It has t shirts, cheap sunglasses, knock off bags, junk like that. I made the mistake of going in there the first time I went and immediately wanted to get out but then had to go through it to get out and ended up having my Gucci sunglasses pick pocketed from my person. It is not the Flea market you are looking for. My advise is when leaving the Metro stay on the right hand side of the street and continue past the underpass. These days there is a bit of the sketchy stuff that appears on that side of the street as well but it is easier to traverse and then after the underpass you will see the Marche Vernaison on the left. Cross at that intersection. Marche Vernaison and the other Flea Markets at St. Ouen are not the only flea markets in Paris if you are really into that thing but it is really an amazing and mind blowing experience you shouldn't miss when in Paris.

I was expecting more. From the way the sunglasses look online, I thought the designs would be…read morescreened on or possibly part of the lens material. It turns out they're printed plastic / vinyl stickers on regular clear-lens sunglasses. That makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint - get a whole bunch of generic frames and put any kind of stickers on them. Quality-wise, this production method is hit-or-miss. On some pairs, the stickers are improperly cut or placed and don't fully cover the lenses. Some pairs have lumps because the stickers weren't applied smoothly. Furthermore, due to the stickers' adhesion and perforation, they look likely to rip up if I were to try to adjust them. Of the 3 pairs I bought for nearly $40 each, only one was really made well. The designs are still cool, and people standing away enough may not notice the sticker flaws. I just wish there were more consistency and quality control to quell minor defects.

As one might infer from the name, the offerings have an Indian flair, and the store is STUFFED: it's easy to get overwhelmed by texture, color, and choices. I ended up choosing a loose-woven scarf in shades of brown, rose and blue. Scarves are a big accessory in Paris, and easy to pack, so this was a nice souvenir! There are apparently eight locations of Diwali around town, so chances are you'll come across one in your travels. Diwali is named for the Festival of Lights in India, and this shop's wares will definitely brighten your day!

My friend in college had one and I was constantly borrowing it. Since then i have lost touch with my friend, and with her hat, and i have searched tirelessly: I gawked at elderly Czech ladies in moth-eaten fur hats in Prague (note to Prague-dwellers younger than 75 years: NO FUR HATS) pawing through thrift store stocks, sunday afternoon Ebay and Etsy trawling... i ordered one from TopShop... not so great... the color matched my hair, the shape was off. i considered ordering a REAL one from Eugenia Kim for 400 dollars. Then I inwardly debated real vs. fake fur. My friend's hat was faux fur. I couldn't reconcile myself to a REAL fur hat. It's a statement I'm not sure I want to make, even in France, where women don't hesitate to make that statement (and no one would throw paint at you - you can eat your foie gras without a qualm here). I thought my search for the perfect Anna Karenina, faux fur Russian pillbox hat was for naught. Until today... I came upon Pile Poil... She has an AMAZING collection of very high quality faux fur. Some of her "furs" ressemble real fur because the quality is so excellent. She handmakes blankets, ruffs, pillows, lovely cute jackets and stoles, and those perfect Russian hats, both with long ear flaps and the pillbox version. She has many shades and colors... She stiffened when I told her I had been unable to commit to wearing a real fur pillbox hat. I realized that she takes the faux vs. real fur argument very seriously. So all vegans, vegetarians and animal lovers will be very happy here. My new hat is a great reddish brown and it is VERY warm. It hasn't gotten cold enough to wear it but I feel like Anna Karenina in all my winter coats now. It was 100 euros, which I think is reasonable considering it's handmade. She's a lovely person too. Maintenant je n'achèterai plus en boutique car je ne veux plus la recroiser ! Les gens qui sont comme ne devraient pas travailler dans le service !

And besides that, the shop itself is sharp with its teak display cases, wall of vintage mirrors and vintage Scandinavian couch. In a word: hip. I don't wear glasses and already have a pair of sunglasses that I worship but for my husband's birthday this year he asked for his first pair of sunglasses ever. We actually wound up here by convenience sake only. We had only two hours to shop for his present before the little ones needed to get fed/napped/changed and this was the first shop we went to while heading towards Republique. And it was the last because he found the absolute coolest pair of sunglasses on earth here after trying on a half dozen pair. The glasses were a bit of a splurge at 200E but they are unbelievably beautiful and they make him feel like a million bucks, so well worth it!
