The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Extremely disappointed with him and his lack of response.

After being referred to Armando Moreno by our friend/real estate agent (whom we sincerely trust), we contracted him to paint the entire apartment (top to bottom, bathrooms, hallways, closets, ceilings, everything) and sand/refinish the wood floors. It was pitched as a "luxury" option meant to last, and the invoice literally says "Lifetime Warranty" right under the product description. Fast forward 5 years later, and the floor is completely falling apart under normal daily use. It's thin, cheap, and garbage quality. When I tried to actually use that lifetime warranty, they basically told me too bad. The company used a bankruptcy filing to legally wipe out all their promises to past customers, and then the original founder bought the brand assets back to keep selling the same stuff to new people under the same name. They kept the name, they kept the stores, but they threw away any responsibility for the products they sold. If they won't honor the warranties on the floors that failed, they don't deserve a single dime of your money. Go somewhere else.
