We had a fun ride to the lake where we were dropped off and headed out. The river was quiet, wide and relaxing. We swam at a more shallow spot. There weren't very many houses on this stretch of river. We went out in the morning and there weren't many others on the river. It was a little over two hours. There are several other drop off/ pick up options that are both shorter or longer. We will definitely be back to try the longer options.

I went to Angola to visit family that lived near by Fox Lakeview. The weather was a up and down…read moreand all over the place but the hospitality was warm and friendly. Jennifer met me as I pulled in to make sure that I was able to get in with no issues. It was a cold day and she had the electric fireplace on for me and the heat turned up. The space was clean and very user friendly. I brought my pups and they were comfy and cozy also. There are views of the lake and unknowingly to me views of a marsh land behind. I was able to walk my dogs easily behind the building. The first night it snowed and Jennifer made sure to salt the stairs for me when I had come back from dinner. The next day it was almost 70!! We were able to see cranes and hear them and the wonderfully loud sounds of the tree frogs!!! The following morning it snowed and went down to 8 degrees so I was able to see the marsh snow covered. Pokagen was a 10 minute drive away for a nice hike, and coming back to a warm and inviting space to relax and watch movies was the best. I look forward to coming when it is consistently nice weather and taking advantage of all the nature and parks around the area and maybe taking a kayak out also! During our wedding, Nikki was so kind as to ask us if we need anything multiple times, helping during photos, capturing small photos and videos throughout the day to share with us, and bringing us drinks from the bar during our busy day so we could still find time to celebrate! The whole process leading up to the wedding was also wonderful with the help of William and Melvin! I highly would recommend this venue!

A small, family owned campground nestled in some woods right smack beside a lake. They have a…read morecouple small piers so you can tied up a boat or use the lake as your mode of transportation to the Amigo Center. There are some stricter rules due to it being a faith run campground, but besides the noise (normal) and alcohol limitations (getting more normal), you wouldn't know it. The bathrooms have 1 shower and 3 stalls, so showers in the morning take a bit... but that's what the lake is for (says my dad and grandpa). The playground is right under a couple shady trees, so even in July it's still a cool place to play (or watch the nephews play). The prices are fair and there is a fresh spring to get water. :o) Yeayyy!

They have a very unique style of camping at first we didn't want to try camping at a place we couldn't make a reservation and know we were guaranteed a camping site! They had activities live band, kids crafts, bingo and so many things the staff are involved and they have security at night and it made us feel good knowing they were so attentive to everyone's needs!
