I went to the alterations department of Jim Danny's cleaners and my puppies had just had an operation and I needed their surgery suit to have one stitch across the bottom so they would bite each other's stitches. The man who is there said he could give them to me on Tuesday today being Friday I said this was urgent and he said he couldn't help me. I said I don't care what color thread it is or anything I just needed stitch so the puppies went hurt each other... He refused I went to the Shoemaker down the street and it took the Schumaker four minutes yes four minutes to do the job... I can't complain against the employees. They aren't rude. Their driver Jerry was a nice man. But being nice is not what this business is about. Being nice is not the delivery they claimed for from my insurance. I wouldn't even give a one star, but that's the minimum requirement. It took me months to decide if I should give any rating at all. I like to give positive reviews as there are too many who deliver the negative ones. My house had a fire and my restoration company hired this company to take my clothes. Big mistake. The entire process was disorganized. I was assured that my stuff will be cleaned and restored using hypoallergenic solutions and that everything is returned labeled by room location in house that they are retrieved from. Unfortunately that was not the case. Firstly, I instructed that they not take anything from the 2nd floor as the entire floor had soot mixed with water from fire fighting. My first floor was also drenched with soot and water. Likewise my basement due to water seeping down taking soot with it. They were only supposed to take stuff from 1 room from 1st floor which had least and the basement, but they didn't follow instructions and took everything. 98% of everything that they took was destroyed after being "in process" for upto 4+ months into cleaning. I was left with 50+ bags of unsorted clothing that still had soot, mold, and destroyed quality. With over 800 hangered items that looked more worse than they were hung in my closet after the fire. This was not a genuine restoration at all to me. My new stuff was returned looking older than rags while some valued clothes were simply never seen again as a consequence of their mismanagement. Most of everything returned had mixed labels and it took them 4+ months to return items. Poor, poor, service. I highly believe that it was intentional because I had requested that they return everything uncleaned, doing so would not have benefited them. Such dissatisfaction. From everything they returned, only a about 28 items were worth the keep and those were probably because they were clean to begin with. read more

I've been going to this place for years and two things have happened... 1. The quality of the cleaning is not as good... my shirt necks and cuffs are coming back dirty and, 2. Service quality has gone down. There is one person behind the counter who talks loudly about people and another one who has attended me and has not been friendly at all. The last time I was there she treated me like I'm a child. I ended up calling for the manager and even though he apologized for her, he didn't do much to recover. I took my clothes and left. I've been using this cleaners (reluctantly) for at least 5 years. Truthfully, the only reason why I would go to them is because all the other cleaners in town don't have their own parking lot and it was just more convenient. I will never go back to Jim Dandy if I have to walk a mile, uphill and barefoot in the snow. The people that are running the place CLEARLY have zero ownership in the company and have absolutely no customer service skills or training. They seem to think every time you drop off your clothes that they are doing you a favor by servicing you. Today I was pushed over the edge, never to return. I am not a person to write bad reviews often. As a matter of a fact, this is the only review I have ever written. In response to the owner comment. It wasn't the fact that it couldn't be done. It was the way I was spoken to and the way it was handled. I'm glad you think your employees are great, but look up how long I have used your cleaners and to be honest, never really cared for any of the people working for you. They have an extremely friendly staff and my cloths consistently come back perfect. Furthermore, I had them recently tailor a suit for my brother's wedding and they did a phenomenal job. I have been going to them for more than 6 months, and just starting today I go to pick up a pair of UNIFORM pants, and they want to now charge $4.75 for ONE pair of uniform pants, the cost that I have been accustomed to, was ALWAYS $2.50. That is a 90% increase! When receiving my pants the lady asked me what my profession was? Why would anyone care, but im an airline pilot! The lady then said the $2.50 price was only for police officer, fire fighters and EMT's when I said I have always paid that price her smart remark was that " Oh everyone else pays that price ($4.75)" I Highly doubt that! Plus I have found another cleaners right down the road from them that will do the same price of $2.50, because they know if you come in every single week they should be able to make more money than coming in with dress pants once a month. A pair of work pants I dropped off to have dry cleaned came back still dirty. Very unprofessional, lackluster staff who don't seem to care about providing good customer service. I should have walked out when the woman who waltzed-in wearing a fur coat completely cut the line and the guys at the counter didn't even realize it. At least I got my stuff back. My clothes come back great, I never have to wait, and their prices are better than other cleaners in Huntington. I work in Retail as well and it's just amazing to me how crazy people can get over something so insignificant like Raul did. I was not told that my items were placed in the wrong bin, I was told that the machine to clean the shirts was broken and they knew several hours before I came to pick up my clothes. A middle aged woman with black hair working there immediately gave me an attitude when I asked her why she didn't call me to tell me my shirts wouldn't be ready. You only mentioned 2 times where my shirts weren't ready on time but this happened at least 5 times. That combined with the lady giving me an attitude and talking back to me is why I won't be returning to your store despite you offering to clean 5 shirts for free. I stayed with this cleaner for several years because they are convenient to me, but they have been rude, and lost my clothing one too many times. What is more, their manager, Mary, is defensive and does not tell the truth. I have heard many a good story that were not necessary in order to coverup for one of their many mistakes. As a cleaner, if you don't mind taking the risk that they cannot find your clothing when you come to pick up your order, or lose something outright (for me several laundered shirts and a couple of dry cleaning items) then that's your decision. We have been using this dry cleaner for the past year and have been pretty satisfied. They did shrink a shirt of mine and returned things with the same stain without letting us know that they couldn't get it out, but that would happen most places once in awhile I think. BUT what happened to me yesterday is completely unacceptable!! I brought the dress I am wearing to my daughter's wedding in to be hemmed. I checked with the tailor that he could work with the fabric and he assured me it was no problem; just a simple hem. I picked the dress up and thought it didn't look right but thought maybe it was just the way it was hanging on the hanger. 2 days later I finally had the time to try it on and it is completely ruined!!! The hem is uneven and the fabric puckers everywhere along the hem!!! I showed it to another professional and she told me that they pressed it which is what puckered the fabric. Not only did they return the dress to me obviously knowing how it looked, but when I brought it back to them to get my money back they wouldn't give me a refund!! They insisted I let them fix it! The owner of the business kept sending someone out to talk to me, he wouldn't even show his face. They just insisted over and over that I let them fix it! It is my dress, they already ruined it, and my daughter's wedding is in 2 weeks....I am taking it to someone else to see if it can even be fixed! We do business there every single week and now they have lost a frequent and loyal customer. I always liked the women who worked out front but the owner will not see another dime of ours! Besides the customer service being bad, the actual service on your clothes is worse. They were always putting creases in the pants. One time when I went back to pick up the pants that they had to redo, they tried to charge me for the pants again. The last straw was when they completely destroyed one of my husbands shirts. ONE LESS CUSTOMER FOR JIM DANDY, BUT WHO CARES, CERTAINLY NOT THE MANAGERESS. I had been going to Jim Dandy cleaners for along time, mainly to get my shirts laundered and pressed. Good job, quick , cheap, two minutes from my house. Wonderful. Until this week. I wanted to wear a particular shirt on July 4th, so the previous Saturday I took it in with two other shirts to be laundered and pressed, as these shirts had been done numerous times before at this store. I came back the following Tuesday to pick them up, but no one could find the shirts for about five minutes. Finally, the manageress appeared with my unwashed shirts. For some reason, in all the time I had frequented this store I had never noticed her, or had she served me. She gave me back the items -- the reason being she claimed was that two of the shirts had oversized manufacturers logos that could run or melt, and the other shirt had small eyelets on the shoulders. I explained that this was not the first time these same shirts had been cleaned here, with no problems which she claimed they would, but she was not having any of this, and sent me away showing me the washing instuctions that they suddenly had a problem with. The day after July4th, I sneaked back with same shirts. I got a different sales person who said there was no problem with these -- just a normal wash and press. Well, my British accent must have been overheard, because out comes the manageress -- again refusing to take in the items. This time I had brought with me two unwrapped shirts prom a previous visit, but she said that if they did these they probably went through dry cleaned, which I don't believe for a minute. My theory about this whole shambles is that, from the Saturday to the Tuesday somebody forgot to put these shirts through the system, and this was the lame excuse. She did finally offer to wash one shirt with the small eyelets, but let me walk out, without so much as a sorry. Now, I have the inconvenience of finding a new cleaning service.
