Sadly I will be joining the encore of 1 star reviews for this company…read more What a total and utter crapshoot. I have honestly never dealt with worse laziness, unprofessionalism and incompetence in my life, and I own a construction business, we deal with contractors all the time. I bought a fixer upper and had a Pella sale man, Gary Wise, come to give us a quote on whole house window replacement. We ordered custom fiberglass black windows and doors for the front and back, as well. I will join other reviewers in saying that what I was sold was not what I got. The doors specifically were sold to me as solid wood- they are NOT. They are plastic. Totally trash. And there is no recourse. If you complain to this company, they get very hostile. This was almost two years ago. I paid the upfront deposit which got me a discount, I believe it was half of the total price paid upfront. That's when the nightmare began. Delay after delay after delay. Almost a full year before we got *any* movement on our project. And then it was with so many items lost in their warehouse, and others installed in the wrong holes etc. I've never seen anything like the incompetence and excuse making that Pella displayed. The buck got passed so many times. And also the total unprofessionalism we experienced speaking to the guy named Ron. There is no system for checking that things are getting done in a timely manner, zero accountability. So then we got back on the waiting train, for everything that had been lost to be replaced. After MONTHS, we started to get movement again, but again, things were still lost, and not everything was done. That's when they started hassling us for more money. Which of course was astounding after the way the job had gone. But we paid, because we actually do what we are supposed to, unlike this trash hole company. And here we are, 1.75 years into this job, and we are still missing parts and pieces and one whole window. We get hassled multiple times a month by Pella, to pay them the final installment, despite our job *NOT BEING DONE AT ALL* We are considering taking them to court. We have a great lawyer.

The job failed inspection, and even the inspector was shocked. After chasing them down, they scheduled a meeting with a supervisor and tech--no one showed up. No call. No apology. Then they sent a postcard asking if I "love my new windows." Clueless. They pressured me for a 5-star review right after measurements--now I understand why. Once the contract is signed, they vanish. Save yourself the stress. Do not use Pella.

The installers they sent from Farrow were inexperienced, and managed to put in one of the sills crooked. Then, the stucco installer did not use a drop cloth and left debris and damaged our shingles. The stucco did not pass inspection due to multiple large cracks. When the installer from Farrow came out to repair the stucco, he said there was no way to patch it and it would need to be redone. Now Lowe's is saying they will not replace and will only patch, and Farow has not reached out to set a new appointment. This has been going on for over 6 month, and the inspector has stated that the stucco will never pass inspection in its current condition. In addition, one of the windows arrived with a broken screen. Pella techs were sent out to determine that yes, it was broken, but they insisted that Lowe's would need to order and install the parts themselves. When the installer arrived, he had the wrong parts. Pella reordered the broken part and set an appointment for over a month away. When the appointment date was close I reached out to find out wh time the were coming. Their phone service said that it was outside of normal business hours, despite calls multiple times during the day. No-one ever reached out or showed up, and upon calling Pella, the scheduler could not be reached. I did speak to a Lowe's manager who assured me that she would make sure things got moving again. However, since then I have repeated calls from Lowe's associates regarding how Farrow should have already reached out, and I would need to contact Pella directly, which I have already tried and failed. Do NOT USE Pella windows for any reason. If I could give a zero stars score I would do so.
