JG Pest Control attended my property last year to treat flies and ladybirds. They verbally assured me that if the pests returned, they would come back to spray again. The initial treatment worked temporarily, but the pests reappeared after about 6 months. I reluctantly accepted their statement that any guarantee was only 4 months and paid for a second treatment. When the issue returned again just before the 4-month mark from the second visit, I emailed them on 9 February (within the period). No reply came, so I chased them. They then claimed the guarantee was void because I hadn't contacted them every 4 weeks for follow-ups -- even when no pests were visible -- and that contacting near the end didn't count as the first treatment having "worked." This requirement was never mentioned verbally during visits, in any paperwork, emails, or (from what I can see) on their website/terms at the time. Requiring monthly check-ins "just to say nothing's happened" is unrealistic and wasn't communicated upfront, making the guarantee feel misleading in practice. The team were polite and efficient on-site, and the treatments did reduce the problem short-term, but the handling of the guarantee and lack of response to my timely email left me very disappointed. I wouldn't rely on their guarantees for recurring pest issues based on this experience. If you're considering them, ask for all guarantee conditions in writing before proceeding. read more

I had a problem with wasps entering & exciting an inaccessible roof space. An appoinment was made & the technician arrived within a few days. Notification was sent within an hour of arrival. I required follow up visits but these were not a problem to arrange & was offered flexibility due to me being on holiday at the time. All communication was handled very professionally with photographs being supplied to indicate where the treatment had been applied in my absence. No further evidence of wasp activity observed. read more

This company is a disaster. They are not pest control, but PEST to your pocket. I booked the Chemical spray to my house to treat the bedbugs after reading reviews that look fake now. I was told it will take couple of hours for their team to spay the my 4-bedroom house. They booked me for 2 to6PM slot but suddenly a night before texted me that they will come at 10:00 next day. No-one visited till 11:00. They I called the office, and I was told, they will come between 2:00 to 6 only. I had to reschedule all my jobs again. Even I clearly mentioned while booking the job to give me call 30 min before coming but even after agreeing by sale manager Emily, no-one bothered to call, and the team member started knocking the door at 2:35. JG Pest control disaster didn't stop here. As some family members were working from home, it took us some time to leave the house. We left the house at 3:00 PM. I was shocked to see the email I received from the JG Pest Control office at 3:21 stating treatment is done. I have a 4 double bedroom house, which I was told will take a couple of hours to do the job. I reached back home at 3:30 to check and noticed the technician had done nothing and just left after some time when I left the house. I immediately called the JG Pest Control office and sent an email to them. They didn't respond. As it was Friday, I had to wait till Monday morning to talk to someone. I called, and after a long discussion, I was connected to the sales manager, Emily. I complained about the issue I had, and she refused to acknowledge that there was any issue. She repeated, it will take a few days for bedbugs to completely disappear from the house. I told her their technician only spends 15 min the house, which she said it will take more than a couple of hours to do the spray in the house. Next 5 days, I have been transferred to one department to another without any solution. Spoke to customer care Manager leigh. He kept asking for one or another proof of whatever I was saying rather than accepting the mistake. I sent all the videos and pics of bedbugs roaming around the beds in the house, but still, after over a week, neither a refund nor a solution is provided. AOVID THEM- PATHETIC read more

Judging by the 38 other 1 star reviews it is obvious that other people have also been scammed by this company. Extortionate costs for substandard service. If you try to complain you will get nowhere. Your only recourse is to complain to Trading Standards or take them to small claims course. Horrible company and horrible customer services. Useless operatives. 1 star is honestly too good for them. They refused to honour the commitment they made on their web site to repair and close up the access point used by squirrels. As I had to pay up front, I was stuck with having to pay for a service I didn't get. This is a shame, as they dealt with the pests themselves very well. read more

SCAMMER We have paid the woodworm inspection in advance and nobody came. We needed to sort someone else at the last minute. We asked a refund and it cannot be processed till next week and we need to request it only by email. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM AND DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY read more

I'm genuinely confused by the positive reviews for this company, as our experience has been extremely disappointing from the beginning. The head office misled us, gave conflicting quotes, and was extremely difficult to deal with. Despite repeated reassurances over three separate visits that rats were not entering via the drains, it took nearly four months of ongoing issues before anyone even mentioned a drain survey. In the end, I had to arrange the survey myself through the waterboard--not the company. The results came back showing no obvious issues, which I suspect is because the waterboard isn't trained to detect rat ingress. This should have been handled by a pest control expert. Eventually, I installed my own cameras and discovered rats were indeed entering through the drainage system. I placed poison blocks on string into the main drain and found they were taken quickly--confirming what the company should have identified from the outset. After months of escalating problems, I finally figured out the root cause myself--something a professional should have helped with within the first few weeks. The damage is now significant, and the loft will need to be gutted and professionally cleaned. I requested a full refund, but the company claimed they had recommended a drain survey. It's laughable. We paid hundreds of pounds for a service that amounted to little more than a visual inspection, misleading information, and no real action. I am now pursuing reimbursement through the small claims court. I will also be raising this matter with Trading Standards, as I believe the way this company operates is unacceptable. It's not just about our experience--we have small children and chose to pay for a professional service expecting the issue to be dealt with swiftly and thoroughly. I worry deeply for vulnerable or elderly people who might not have the time, energy, or knowledge to challenge a company like this. They deserve better, and this company should not be operating in this way. If you're facing a similar issue, I strongly advise against using this company. Instead, get a proper drain survey early, lay poison and traps, and seal off any entry points (which this company doesn't do--they just identify them). If you can't do this yourself, hire a professional company that will actually resolve the problem. You'll save a lot of time, money, and stress. read more

I would avoid these at all costs. They are currently merging with another company and the organisation is atrocious. We had two appointments booked with them which they didn't even show up to, nor did they call in advance that they wouldn't be coming. Not only did they waste two days of our lives sat at home waiting for nobody to come, but they failed multiple times to call back when promised or to take my complaint seriously. They think this is an acceptable level of service and have refused to give me any solution aside from a 'sorry'. Sorry doesn't give me wasted days back. The reviews suggest they're a good company to go with but that was clearly pre-merger. Avoid them all costs and take your money elsewhere, as it will be wasted. read more

This is our second time using jgpestcontrol. First time was amazing, this time they have been really difficult to work with. The worker call Mike came and he had a lot of knowledge but essentially did nothing saying we have to deal with the rat smell and flies and maggots. He was refusing to use any medication or idenitify the area it may be in (even though he claims he has strong sense of smell). He spent the whole time present and giving a whole history of rats but not doing his job. I would not recommend this company and definitely not Mike as he will chew your ear off and not do anything despite paying hundreds of pounds for a call out. Terrible service and lack of knowledge! Avoid! I have experienced a lack of transparency, professionalism and complete lack of expertise with this company. The information provided by the technicians and office completely differ, they deny certain inclusions in the initial package described and don't seem to know how to identify what is causing an infestation. During the first visit the technician put out traps for everything just in case and had no idea as to the correct follow up time. I was promised a thorough loft inspection and report which has not been done. Despite informing the team of my plan to clear out my loft after the third visit they did not communicate this to the technician so all the baits and traps have been left in my loft and noone has communicated the next step read more

Made promises they could not keep to get us to book. Took the total amount of £480 (to get rid of some mice) instead of just a deposit and then refused to refund the amount taken in error. Was difficult to get hold of anyone and office staff refuse to discuss the situation over the phone. Not a great service for the money paid and I certainly wouldn't recommend this company read more

Just avoid this company. Liars & grifters. After contacting them in April due to an infestation of rats in the garden they were helpful & visited 3 times to lay poison. The final visit was in July & it appeared that the rats had been dealt with. Now 1 month later the rats are back. JG Pest Control have a 3 month guarantee, but when I contacted them today they refused to honour this telling me that the guarantee is from the start of the treatment. With the first visit in April & the last in July that is 3 months, so their guarantee is worthless. Easier & cheaper to purchase a DIY kit from Amazon for £20. DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS. This company is absolutely useless. Please do yourself a favour and use someone else. I have 6 years + experience of JG pest control because i have woodworm in my loft. They gave me a 10 year guarantee that it wouldn't come back yet every year i have to call them out again because my loft is constantly being eaten and they can't kill the woodworm. On the 1st visit a lad in shorts & T shirt went into my loft with an aerosol can for a very short time & then sat in his van a long time outside. He had no PPE on. Many other JG pest control employees have been here over the years to spray my loft and i can tell that they don't know what they are doing. An employee at the office told me The workers can spray a loft beam in 3 seconds, which is why it doesn't take them long to do a loft. I have checked my loft everytime after they have sprayed, & i can tell where they have sprayed & where they have not sprayed. I have even seen that they have sprayed one side of a large beam & the other side is bone dry. This company is a cowboy outfit that is only after your money. They clearly do not care about your pest problem. I paid a lot of money for my woodworm treatment and many times ive asked for a re-fund & they keep refusing. Im writing this review now to warn you of their incompetence and im telling you to stay away from them. My intension is to take legal advice and keep pressing for a refund because ive not got what i paid for. Im going to the ombudsman as well. £125 to get a 'specialist' turn up, spend 3 minutes to say no wasps nest and nothing he could do. You would expect an 'expert' to advise and actually closely inspect the area. My fiancé got closer to the wasps than he did. May not have been a nest but there was a large mass of wasps present. We'd have been grateful for any service or throw some wasp powder or give recommendations but no! My fiancé who isn't a wasp expert went to the hardware store and bought wasp powder having read reviews online and scattered it over the mass of wasps. Sorted! You'd think an expert, would have supplies or knowledge to do something like this especially when forking out a large amount of money for an 'expert'. We complained after he left having been at our house for 3 minutes. I think he must've spent more time typing a standard report than he spent actually looking to resolve our wasp issue. Maybe we were unlucky with our 'expert' but the company came across as a bunch of charlatans by saying they understood our feedback but wouldn't refund the money. Shocking customer service and didn't deliver at all. Would not recommend them to anyone I know and hence the reason I am writing an honest review. read more

I paid them and booked a time slot and with in 20 MINUTES, I wanted to cancel because I got my post and had to go to hospital on that date! I called immediately to cancel and get a refund as there were no time slots available to defer my appointment. They refused to refund me the money and I lost £300.00 in 30 minutes! They are shark organisation with NO principal and customer care. All they care about is to get your money UPFRONT and then let you run after them if there are any issues. TOTAL WASTE of money! This company are a complete waste of money. I would beg people to either fix it yourself or go with any other company if you're not comfortable with basic DIY Having spotted a mouse in our kitchen cupboard and with a new born we wanted someone to fix the problem professionally. These guys had good reviews and despite being twice as expensive ad any other company decided given the newborn to go with them. The first guy who visited literally did nothing. Pointed to the hole where mouse had come through (despite there being a massive gap in skirting the mouse was clearly coming from) and laid some poison. With 4 days we saw the mouse again. We emailed (please note they won't talk to you on phone after they've taken your money) but they refused to send anyone round for 3 weeks. As this is how long it takes mice to reproduce and for a small problem to become an infestation. The second guy came and was much better in that he actually looked around kitchen. He made assessment cupboard wasn't problem and put a load of steel wool and expandable foam wherever he could see under kitchen cabinets. Again 3 days later we saw the mouse but in living room coming from pipe boxing again. Again they refused to send anyone for 3 weeks. Despite the fact that there was no poison or anything to stop mouse in living room. 3 weeks later they send another person who again did absolutely nothing. Despite promising us person #2 who'd at least made some effort. Again we saw the mouse. Who had now multiplied and started making his way into our neighbours. Again they refused to send anyone round for 2 weeks. When he came he basically said there was nothing they could do and to get a handy man to fill the holes the mouse had made during the 2 months his company had basically done nothing. He returned after handy man had done what JG Pest control should have done to say handy man had done a good job. So in summary. Do not trust the fake reviews this company have put up. If it's a simple hole then go to any DIY store, get some steel wool and pack the hole and then use expandable foam to pack it in place (plenty of forums online/videos describe process in detail). If you'd rather get someone else go with ANY other company. These guys are just a rip off (£420 to come round and lay poison you can buy in any DIY store and put expandable foam haphazardly which the mice chew through) and literally can't do anything. read more

Issue with mice - £300+vat for call out (max of 3 apparently but typically 1 apparently - this became quite muddled). Enquired on 31st of Dec - asked to go ahead with a booking on the 2nd of January.. DIdn't receive any confirmation but immediately got an email saying payment required ASAP today... I felt this strange and with it being hogmanay decided not to make a payment. Poor guy turned up at my house on the 2nd.. very apologetic. We decided to go ahead with the 'treatment'. The moment he left they emailed a booking confirmation... they would later keep making the point that the booking was confirmed.. if it was .. why didn't they send a booking confirmation which was clearly protocol? Chap set some traps - No mice been caught. No sealing up of holes apparently this happens during the second visit- which typically they don't need..?? (The agent who came out says he never does this!) Be careful with wording. Email said they deal with the "identification of access points, which we seal"..when I spoke to them subsequently they said they only seal access to domestic spaces. So don't expect your £300+vat to protect your crawling spaces- cavity walls - attics etc. This is why I decided to splash the cash - to guard against infestations underneath the house etc and get specialist advice/treatment. I had already caught 4 mice myself. All they did on the visit was set some traps - I'm sure most people would be capable of this. Apparently on the second visit (Which they typically don't need?) they would have sealed up holes around the kitchen. I emailed asking for a phone call and to be fair.. somebody called shortly after... They said I had agreed to this treatment on the phone beforehand.. (I never spoke to anyone on the phone before hand). They went to speak to a manager and said they'd call back... they never did. Few days on I got messages saying this bill was due. At this point I was totally lost as to what this treatment was I was paying for. I emailed a complaint. Got a generic response which didn't make any sense. They then told me I had agreed to this and it was all recorded etc.. I explained that I never spoken to someone on the phone to agree to this! After beating my head of a brick wall I requested to speak to a manager who didn't call but sent an email providing three options. 1) cancel further treatment and I can pay the call out fee of £150 + VAT... (I guess I just have to take their word for it that this is the call out fee given there are no rates itemised on their website). 2) I pay the full amount and they continue with their treatment 3) they hand it over to debt collectors. I've lost faith in them and don't trust that there wouldn't be further problems. So I've taken the call out fee hit...and I've run! If other people have had good experiences - that's great. I couldn't recommend them. If it's just internal proofing I'm sure most people are capable of laying a few traps and filling holes around the space. I thought I was getting something more skilled and specialist than that. Would worry about older relatives with them.. so please.. explore local council schemes etc before contacting them. They made up some reasons and when I pointed out they didn't make sense they just made up some more. JG Pest Control- Job Booking Confirmation. Ref: AH373057 Feel really cheated. They charged me £300 for a job (squirrel pest detection and removal) that costs £75-£150 in the area. I was told it was non refundable only after I paid the advance over the phone and then had no choice but to go ahead with them since I paid for the service which was non-refundable. I have no peace of mind to deal with them further asking for refunds or what not... As even if I were to take them to court, the lawyers will be the next looters like them. Be careful in this shady world. Don't let desperate times get you trapped with people like these. read more

Avoid like the plague. They did nothing to diagnose the problem, gladly took my money (£1200) and left me with damaged windows from the heat treatment. Spend time researching and you can sort out most pest issues yourself. Save your money, this company was useless and after 3 visits I still had the same problem. read more

Paid JG Pest Control £300 in the summer as we have a problem with mice. The first two agents who attended were friendly and used expanding foam and wire wool to block up the holes, however the problem persisted. The second engineer to come was beyond incompetent, and clearly wanted to just clock off his shift. Despite a third visit from a more competent agent the mice problem still exists (despite them guaranteeing to solve the issue). I phoned JG today to be quote an additional £210.00 for a follow up, this is despite us already paying a huge sum of money with the issue still not resolved. Huge rip off for an inadequate service. You're better off buying expanding foam and wire wool and doing it yourself instead of wasting £300+ read more

Awful company! Promised to fill in the entry points as part of the service when we first contacted them. Each technician had a different idea about whether it was rats or squirrels in our loft and promised the next technician would fill in the entry points. After the three visits promised in the price, the entry points were still not filled in. At this point, it became impossible to get hold of anyone from the company (they won't speak to you by phone and bookings are made through email links). No one from customer services got back to me, despite 5 emails from me. Eventually I received a response and they wanted to charge me more money to fill in the entry points, despite the previous technician saying it was a simple job. A possible additional cost was never mentioned or agreed in the initial sale. To top it all off, the squirrel has now returned since the traps were removed, so we paid £420 for nothing. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - ASTONISHINGLY APPALLING - to quote their last email to me, apparently, when it comes to using JG Pest Control, "these things can happen from time to time". I have never written an online review in my life but I'm afraid my experience of this company is the worst I have ever had of any business and so I felt compelled to write something so that others don't have to experience the hugely unpleasant last few weeks I have had with JG Pest Control. The original treatment they used actually made the pest problem worse. And they were by far the most expensive quote I obtained - I ended up having to use another company, who were far cheaper, much more professional, and really great to deal with throughout. JG Pest Control on the other hand were the opposite - having made the problem worse they then failed to even show up for three separate appointments - and on each occasion I received no notice that they were not attending until after the arranged time and then received no follow-up apology from them - from my experience they appear to simply not care about customers, being much more focused on their own processes. Their customer service is appalling and they refused to speak with me on the phone about the problem I had experienced with their service. They would only email. They have a 'computer says no' approach to dealing with customers unfortunately which, by the looks of my last email from them, starts right at the top of the organisation. An endemic cultural problem that every customer will probably end up experiencing one way or the other. Even the Directors of the business were, by all accounts, just not interested in me as a customer. When I finally managed to speak to somebody there to explain quite how bad things had been, they didn't even take the time to call me back, but just sent me a dismissive email essentially saying 'the matter is concluded' from their point of view. There are lots of credible alternatives to JG Pest Control and based on my experience, my incredibly strong advice is to never risk engaging with them unless you want to experience some atrocious customer service and a pest problem made even worse. Feel duped. Paid £419.99 for a fly chemical treatment. Spent several days bagging clothing and bedding in preparation for the visit. Home security footage confirmed the visit lasted no more than 20 minutes and that certain chemical treatments were applied. However I do not consider the results value for money or effective as fly activity was still in evidence after the visit. read more

I emailed this company informing them that I had located the rat entry point into my property and needed assistance in filling the hole. I sent photographs of the hole which was approximately 5cm in diameter. I then received a quote of £222 to plug the hole with wire wool and cement. I subsequently bought a load of wire wool and a bag of cement for 15 quid. What expertise in hole filling do they provide in filling a 5cm gap that costs over 200 quid? Absolute rip off!! read more

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE USING THEIR SERVICES. JG Pest control is the most incompetent company I have ever encountered. They charge exorbitant prices (frankly the highest of any other devices I have researched) for a bare minimum of service. After their visit (where they put a mere 3 boxes of rat poison in random areas and charged 420 pounds) our situation became much worse but when we emailed for help they did nothing. When we called other pest control services and explained the situation, they asked if we had used JG pest control as they had been playing clean up for other clients who had the same experience as us. Please please, do not use this service. There are so many more competent services out there Companies who are actually concerned about doing their job well vs turning a quick profit. read more

This company has charged me £1200 for a heat treatment that did not work and they will capitalise on the psychological aspect of a bed bug infestation- do not trust their 4+ Star rating if you are in search of help with a bed bug infestation. I had called them in for a heat treatment and the booking service was easy and smooth, they even chased me to complete my booking. The technician who showed up on the day was also friendly. Unfortunately the treatment and spray which cost £1200 (!!!) in total plus parking permit didn't work. Their inspection report read they had not found anything, but I had found a dead bug on the floor post treatment which was proof of activity. When weeks later I was concerned about continued activity, they just send the technician back over unannounced in the late afternoon asking if we want another spray, but had to leave the house for 4 hours again, which was difficult as this was April 2020. We had to decline this offer and they then went on to send me bed bug traps which only really work if the bug happens to be on the path through one of the traps and when I caught a spider in one of the traps, they tried to upsell me for a spider treatment for 'returning customers' which I was completely stunned with their audacity to even try and propose such thing; it's crazy just how much they can capitalise cold heartedly on someone's despair. If you're having an issue with bed bugs I recommend to check with your local council, the British Pest Control Association or a private, small company that may not have the flashiest website, but will earnestly help you with your problem and keep coming back until your problem is eradicated. JG Pest control are using various marketing campaigns to gain you as a customer such as performance marketing ads on Google, so you can find them easier, Business Development professionals on their customer service hotline, trigger key words, etc. They will also try to gain your trust once you inquire with them and chase you for a booking. Once you have paid, they will be slower in response until they finally ignore you unless you pay up again. Avoid them at any cost for bed bug extermination if you can. read more

Spent £100 for review and £300 for guaranteed fix of removing some rat-rats under the house. Basically they left some bait. I asked at the time why they did not close off rat runs and access to house. Not part of the guaranteed solution I bought. The problem got worse - over the next week activity increased and my tenants were freaking out. I asked if they could.come out again to review site. At first got no answer and then they refused. I have not heard from them in weeks. Spent £400 for no solution. Won't use them again. read more

JG Pest Control have some of the worst customer service skills I have had the misfortune to encounter - let alone the fact that my rodent infestation remains ever-present following their guarantee of three visits to exterminate the problem. Having contacted them to book in assistance to eradicate squirrels living in my ceiling space, a technician - Nicholas - was booked to come round a few days after my call. They do not give you a time of arrival, and so I had to wait all day for the knock on the door. I was given an "on my way" message with the suggestion he'd be 15 minutes, but it took him almost an hour. From the moment he stepped in, I felt he wasn't well-prepared - he didn't have much of a briefing on the job, nor did he sound confident in what he was doing. He surveyed my loft, my kitchen underneath the kickboards and around the boiler, as well as surveying the external surrounding of my flat roof which is where the problem was. After a lot of umming and ahhing, Nicholas had no answers - he couldn't tell me how they got in. He also told me he couldn't instal any traps because they would have to be external - he was later then corrected by the office, and he set a trap in the guttering. Maybe a week later, a squirrel was caught - was this the squirrel coming and going, or simply just an innocent victim? Who knows, because any squirrel could've taken the bait. In any case, I booked in for the removal of the squirrel - I had to wait a few days for these and even Nicholas was surprised that they made me wait. He removed the squirrel, and reset the trap. He still couldn't tell me how the squirrel got in. We heard nothing for a little while but then the noises continued and the trap went undisturbed for weeks. After some investigating of my own, I immediately identified a possible entry point of the squirrel - a broken air vent just centimetres below the trap that Nicholas had thrice interacted with, and yet did not identify. Looking through the vent, I could clearly see the open ceiling space with insulation perfect for a squirrel home. I emailed in and asked for this to be addressed, and was directed to Adam Fairley who was CC'd in. I emailed him directly also, and heard nothing. I waited a day, called the office and asked for help - they told me they'd checked with Adam and that he was just doing something and would get back to me. The next afternoon rolls around, still no call. I called to complain and was met with an incredibly rude lady who told me that I would simply have to wait, or I could email Adam - not realising I'd already done so. I finally received a call from Adam, and he booked someone in come the next day. Geoff Maughan came the next day, took away our trap and sealed the vent by stapling a piece of mesh over the hole. He told me that he could not see any other way the squirrel would be getting in. This was a Saturday, and by the Monday - lo and behold - the noises returned, and the prodding remains intact. I have attempted to seek reimbursement from JG Pest Control, for at least a partial refund, after I had spent £330 on three ineffective, half-completed, incompetent visits. Alas, they refuse to budge and instead I was met with snarky, smarmy comments from their manager Leigh Fowler. Leigh claimed that the one squirrel was caught, and that the continuation of noise counted as a "reinfestation" not covered by their guarantee - he also claimed we were provided "proofing" (a small piece of cheap mesh stapled into my PVC) at no further cost as a "gesture of goodwill". For £330 and an ongoing squirrel problem, I would expect a piece of cheap metal to be included in that price. I argue that this reinfestation is fiction, and that this was an ongoing problem that his technicians had failed on multiple occasions to nullify - or in fact even identify the cause! Not only has my problem not been solved in the slightest, I was treated with contempt and a complete lack of understanding. They have refused to accept any responsibility for a job half complete, and simply misrepresented facts during an auditable email chain that proved their misrepresentations to be exactly that. I will be pursuing action under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015, and I would implore those who experience anything similar to do the same. read more

Similar to other reviewers - I would actually choose to award a zero star rating. Please think carefully before you use their services. The cluster fly issue they came to resolve has turned into a nightmare. Incompetent technicians who have left our loft space in a dangerous condition. Previously this was professionally boarded with solid floor and working loft ladder the technicians ripped up the boards, damaged some of them and then couldn't work out how to relay them properly. Result: they are now unsafe, the loft ladder is not properly attached and worst of all the issue they were contracted to address is not resolved - we still have cluster flies. Did I ask to check their workmanship - YES - they craftily used the 'fogging' as a reason I couldn't inspect the relaying of boards - they didn't let me inspect before doing this which is what we had agreed. They told me the space was even better than when they arrived on site!!! We refused to pay the full bill - they said they would resolve the issues if we paid in full which was over £2000 !!!! but frankly we didn't want them in our property again - EVER absolutely zero value. JG are using technicians who don't have the skills required to undertake the work. read more

Avoid avoid avoid. The sales pitch is world class but the ability to "eradicate" rats from your property is non-existent. They confirmed there were rats in my property and that they were getting in but that is as far as their "expertise and professionalism" and £360 got me - nothing I or anyone else with half a brain did not already know!! They then wanted to sting me for another £420 for installing a £80 one way valve! Save yourself the £360 and just buy some rat poison and suffer the horrendous smell of decomposing rat as JG Pest Control won't be able to offer you any more than that! read more

It seems to be a scam and reading some of the reviews I can completely identify with the experience. After charging £120 to send a technician to come round to the house and tell us our options after we saw a mouse in the house - a rude technician came round, they sent me a report that was essentially 2 blank pages with 3 half written sentences and spelling mistakes and no photos showing what they had done. The 3 half written sentences said there was no evidence of a problem and didn't bother to suggest any next steps. In the end we decided to buy mouse traps from a large ecommerce company for £25 which came next day and we caught 2 mice in 2 days. I've been trying to get a refund and they will now only communicate by email and only after pushing did they agree that they would "schedule a call". They will not provide a refund because they say the service was fulfilled and I got a report on the issue! Please take seriously the bad reviews that others have also left and save yourself the hassle. I really hope these reviews will stop others making the same mistake of using this terrible company. read more

As others have said this company cynically takes advantage of people's panic when they are the subject to infestatipons of insects like bed bugs. in their homes. They were keen to sell me their Premier Bed Bug service at one thousand and twenty pounds. Given the social stigma involved with this insect I was desperate to get rid, so I as requested payed the money up front. As a seventy seven year old in not good health who lives alone I am presumably an easy mark. So exactly what does this super duper Premier Service get you?. It got me this. About 9:30pm one youth of tender years turned up. At 1030, when I left my property the heat treatment was as yet to start. When I returned home at 5:15pm the lad had already gone,and that in fact was the last I was to see of him. The total damage to my property was in the region of nine hundred pounds. Given the youth had not volunteered to inform me of these breakages I sent a complaint email to JG PEST CONTROL,which they ignored as they did a follow up message. I have zero chance of recompense. All in all this has been one of the most dispiriting experiences of my life. read more

If it was possible to give less than one star I would. We contacted them with a rat problem. My husband stated what the problem was. They sold us an expensive service. When we asked why they were not doing certain measures in that service, they said those measures were not included in what we paid for, which seems insane as it cost 400GBP and we had said what the issue was. I am not now going to pay additional money. There is one 'service' visit left, but as what we believe we need done to sort our problem is not included in the service, and because our experience with their customer service post-order has been nothing short of excruciating, we do not want them in our home. I could put down more, but needless to say our experience was very negative and we regret ever contacting this company. read more

I had a full service to rid of Bed bugs I brought for a holiday, Spray + Heat treatment, that cost nearly £1.000. When I came back after the service I noticed my carpet was damaged in a pink color, I've contact the customer service who advised me to use a local pound shop carpet cleaner which will remove easily. I've tried myself many time and could clean up, they send them someone to do another spray session and clean the carpet with a professional cleaner machine. Didn't work either. Then asked me to look up 2 different quotes for a patch repair, I got 5. 2 of those informed the patch repair wouldn't look good considering the type of carpet, other 3 just have provided the price. I've shared that concern of patch repair may not be the right solution and asked what they think about that, that was the answer: "Being honest, in my history of dealing with carpet repairs, patch repairs will blend in providing they are done by a carpet specialists. You will find carpet companies may disagree with patch work as its cheaper and they would rather make more money and sell a whole room of carpet, to add if they knew a company was paying for the carpet they would always go for the more expensive option." Then, they chose the cheaper one, asked for my bank details and asked if I would draw a line in the matter if they send me the amount. I was naive and confirmed. They sent the money in 2 days. The guy came to do the service and advised me the service would not look good for the position of the damage and type of carpet. So I should replace the whole carpet in the corridor for a decent result. When I emailed JG Pest Control saying that, they came back with we have drew a line, the provider saw the picture and etc. I understand their point and I have in fact drew a line in that matter, but seems unfair to me to assume the extra costs (about £120), not even considering the time consuming this is taking. Long story short. They may damage your house and not be fair to fix it properly. I assume I was naive and hope you don't need to pass through this. Good luck. read more

This is an unprofessional, terrible, business. They were paid to do a bedbug inspection. The man was in the house for 15-20 minutes according to my nanny. He only checked one of four bedrooms. Had he properly checked the bed he would have found a very large number of bugs. He said he found no evidence of bugs but as a precaution suggested spending a further £300 on a treatment. We subsequently found a large number of bugs. We employed a rival business to eradicate. Further inspection showed that they were not bed bugs. I couldn't get through to anyone to speak to about this. The only call I got was from the original salesman trying to upsell the treatment. They have issued a partial refund. Beware this scamming company! We called this company to book a clean up after an infestation when we arrived at our rented accommodation. As we have a toddler we wanted a proper clean up as rat feces contains a number of diseases and we weren't confident we had the knowledge to do it ourselves. On calling pestcos (also called a million other names, jg pest control, bedbugs be gone, mice pest control to name a few) they booked an appointment for a 'senior specialist' to come round and clean up using specialist equipment and full ppe. £210 later and a young lad turns up with no equipment, says he doesn't really know what he's meant to be doing and asks if we have a vacuum and some cleaning equipment he can use. He wants to hoover up a lot of rat droppings and urine with the vacuum we use to clean our house? He said he would go and buy a dustpan and brush and 'some cleaning things'. The lad had in his notes that 'he just needed to spray around with disinfectant'. We wouldn't have paid someone 210 pound to do this, no-one would. The lad understood and explained he didn't have the equipment and had only been with the company for a few months. We explained this was not what we had be sold and called to explain over the phone what had happened. So far we've had no refund, have been asked to send emails that haven't been replied to, and have been patronised over the phone, we have called numerous times and the management are never in ot in a meeting. To take £210 from a family is disgusting. By the looks of other reviews we won't recieve any money back from this rogue company. Calling is pointless, you just get patronised by someone on the phone repeatedly telling you 'i can't do anything about it without speaking to management'. We will be taking this further and reporting this place to every regulating body we can, if you've had the same experience I suggest you do the same, they shouldn't be able to operate in this way and take peoples money for nothing, its theft read more

THESE PEOPLE ASKED FOR £360 FOR A CALL OUT AT 5:45PM - DO NOT USE. Review cross posted from one I left on Google Reviews. -Update as of 14/02/2019 After a phone call with Sam Devereux their General Manager, JG Pest Control attempted to paint the situation as if my issue was that I was coerced in to paying. Which I certainly feel is justified given the language used within the phone call and the panic and worry I was feeling in regards to the problem. However it is not, as my original review points out, the issue I have with this, it's having paid £360 upfront and over the phone (with no refund if I'd changed my mind before the employee had even arrived) for a job that was no more than an hour (including travel time). JG Pest Control refused to explain how the price was come too and that simply they did it on a case by case basis, so how the operator was able to work out £360 will forever be a mystery. I will also note for transparency JG Pest Control did offer me a partial refund of 50% but on the grounds of removing the initial review. I instead asked for a refund matching what the worth of the job was so that I would pay around £60, they declined and thus this update was added. -Original review- I called JG Pest Control and I can't help feel that I was lied to and ripped off due to the price I paid for a fairly simple service. At around 5:30pm I discovered a blackbird had somehow managed to get inside the belly of the stove we have in the lounge. I called up JG and they said they weren't sure someone was available and that due to the late time, when to quote "people are wanting to get home" it would be £360. According to the email their arrival times are between 7:30am and 8pm, so I find it a bit odd that a good two hours before then they would charge so much, but with no other option I said okay. About 30 - 40 mins their man arrived with possibly no clue as to what he was doing their as he had no equipment or protection with him to handle the bird. Instead decided to pull of his jumper to use to grasp the bird, which then bit him and began flying about the room, causing it to hit the glass conservatory door (twice), the mirror in the lounge (twice) and the TV. Luckily nothing was broken. The man kept trying unsuccessfully and fearing it would end up causing damage I told him to stop and opened the door to the conservatory and then the one leading outside, which after a few more moments of the bird running in to everything it could he finally got it outside. This all in all was maybe 10 to 15 minutes work, that I paid £360 pounds for and for the life of me cannot see what from all that was worth that price. read more

The service requested was the removal of pests we believed at the time to be rats. JG pest control were on site within 48 hours of being called. They were very courteous on arrival and explained what he would do. On entering the loft he laid traps for rats and explained we leave for at least a week. Two weeks later we called them because there was still a lot of activity in the loft. I was told the problem was squirrels and not rats. The rat poison was removed and traps laid for the squirrels. I was told the traps would work within a week. Two weeks later I called JG Pest control because we heard no activity. JG were onsite the next day and sure enough two squirrels were caught. I must say on each visit (3) JG were polite and courteous by wearing covering for their shoes and knowledgeable about the task. Absolute first rate service from this team from initial enquiry to punctual attendance. Phoned this morning to enquire about a mouse in the kitchen, and by mid-afternoon one of their agents was here putting down traps. They even blocked a couple of suspected entry points, which was included in the price. Results are guaranteed as well which is very reassuring. Exceptional value all things considered. It was a very straight forward process to book an appointment. The customer services were friendly and helpful. The operative arrived on time to complete the job to clear the wasp nest. He was informative and so far we have had no reoccurrence. I was impressed with the after care when I received a follow up email to check that there were no more signs of wasps returning. They did a great job for the money. I had an initial visit with heat, steam and chemical treatment afterwards I had one visit with some sticky papers which didn't work and at the end I had another chemical treatment which I think for now did the job. At the beginning i thought its a lot of money but its a great value as included six months of any issues and they definitely look after their clients. Recommend them! read more

2 visits from the JG team- one to fix a cockroach issue, and a second to tackle a wasps nest. Friendly, professional and highly effective both times. Found a big wasp nest under the eaves in August, right over the back door. Called JG in the morning, Darren arrived same afternoon. Quick, professional, treated it in 20 minutes with dust and foam. Nest dead by evening, no comebacks. Fast, friendly and fairly priced. Highly recommend. read more

Had a great experience with this company. They did a heat treatment for bugs at my house. And provided a freezer to kill off the bugs from my clothes. Worked really well. I can happily say I am now bug free. Only downside is that it wasn't cheap. Anyway I am a happy customer :) read more
