I've waited to post this review because honestly, it's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster…read moresince I was in a bad car accident in 2015 on my way to work. In a nut shell, It was early am and I was hit hard and fast on the passenger of a small compact by a Ford 250 that ran the red. This sent me (instantly totaled) into opposing traffic which, thank you all that is good and great, had stopped. Fast forward to the beginning of this year (having gone to innumerable places that hadn't really worked or dig the the core of the pain) still dealing with Worker's Comp and while some things have mildly relieved pain temporarily, nothing has been as effective on a long term basis (instead of hours) than being adjusted by Ben Sanchez (and Chloe) A dear friend had recommended I go to see Ben and his assistant Chloe. Desperately trying to find a way to not feel crunched up in my left hip anymore and also relieve the 3rd lumbar which has been a quarter inch out (this area affects digestion, and a number of other things in your system) I made the appointment. I arrived in Beachwood Canyon area and easily parked (morning appointments make this easy) and went in. In the the center of the room is a 30" massage table and 2 healers that unquestionably are here to help us realize we do not have to suffer the indignities of judgements by doctors that tell you imperiously, "well, you won't get better, you have a chronic condition." Ben set to work guiding me through specific breathing techniques as well as explaining, in detail, each thing he was about to do and what it was connected to. It was a cross between mesmerizing and physically challenging my ability to truly let go of this long term pain. By the time Chloe (Ben's assistant) and Ben both gave me the adjustments, it affected me not only physically as I could feel release for the first time in years as well as it affecting me psychologically. Anyone taking the time to read to here understands this well and is probably as seriously injured as I have been. To explain, I was being adjusted (or spiritually exorcized to our wit bluntly) in a way that felt like the condition of pain I'd learned to adjust to was being lifted away. I was having a deep experience that is traditionally described as a "mind, body, spirit" connection. It was (and still is) such an intense healing energy when one has both male and female energies working together. Chloe, Bens assistant, is very instinctual and brings a maternal energy to this unified effort of "rebirthing" you into your own perfect body. Or simply put, aligning your spine into its original state. Nitty-Gritty: Prices are really fair- contact Ben for info. He also has Tai Chi classes which will be in a separate review. Please check out Ben's IG here: http://www.instagram.com/ting.jin.healing And here is where Ben was trained in this Tai Chi/ Chi Gong art form of body work: https://www.discovertaiji.com/en/index.html Ok, so until I want to share more, this is my review for now. Visit Ben and Chloe, tell them you read this review. I get a free session like you will if you recommend someone. NOTE: Visit my other reviews and see how long those ones are. If I didn't believe in this is so profoundly and how it's affected me physically, mentally and emotionally- I wouldn't bother. Also note that if you actually want to heal and not be a victim to what doctors claim to "know" about your physical well-being, please please please go see Ben and see for yourself after even just two or three sessions how deeply you are gifting yourself going through this process. This isn't for victims who need to stay in their pain for attention or empathy to avoid their own growth. This process is for leaders and pioneers who need to be well for their journeys. Elizabeth

WOW! Ben and Chloe work wonders. Everytime I leave this place I feel an inch or two taller…read more Word to the wise, Ben's technique is not for the faint of heart. Unless you're seriously committed to realigning the results of your bad posture and physical inactivity, it might be wise to go a more traditional route. That said, if you can muster the courage to sort out consistent treatments, this tai chi technique is truly life altering, in the best possible way.

Extraordinary! You will never, ever find a better therapeutic massage specialist than Denise, owner…read moreof "A Sanctuary for Healing." I have used her services for well over 15 years now, and will continue to do so for as long as she's in business. For nearly 40 years, I have had a very stressful job, which I manage through exercise, meditation, and therapeutic massage. Complaining to a friend about the inadequacy of those who billed themselves as massage professionals, she recommended me to and swore by "A Sanctuary for Healing." Acting upon her advise, I booked a 60 minute session. Welcoming me into her private Santa Monica studio, my 1st impression was how sweet, warm, & considerate was (and is) her demeanor. She instantly put me at ease, overcoming my anxiety at being in close quarters with a stranger. And, then something amazing took place because I learned what makes Denise so exceptional and frankly extraordinary is her mastery of Swedish/Esalen massage. She concludes the session with a focus on your head and scalp in the most amazing way - that alone is worth the price of admission. Though I try with all my might, I simply cannot express in words where I go when she uses her skills on me. Through her massage I am transported to a different universe; one I neither would nor could ever inhabit without her. All is peace and serenity and warmth. Her touch is strong but gentle, and her strokes languish on your body. A 60 minutes session seemed like an eternity. In a world that seems to get crazier by the day, a session at "A Sanctuary for Healing" transcends all your worldly concerns. At the conclusion of our now-90 minute sessions, I do not regret that my time with Denise is over, for the journey leaves me utterly and completely renewed. But what I do regret--until now--was not extolling to the world what a gift Denise is to her profession and to everyone fortunate enough to have been treated by her. After one session at "A Sanctuary for Healing," you shall return for another. This I guarantee.

Dr. Cho has over 30 years of experience, and it shows in every interaction -- he is deeply knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cares about his patients' well-being. I originally went to Dr. Cho for chronic migraines that I had been suffering from for as long as I can remember. I had seen doctors across many different disciplines and tried countless treatments without success. At the time, I was experiencing 2-3 debilitating migraines every week and relying heavily on pain medications just to get through the days. Dr. Cho took a holistic approach to my treatment -- he recommended some dietary changes, prescribed Chinese herbal medicines, and started me on biweekly acupuncture sessions. It wasn't an overnight fix; it took over a year of consistent treatment. But today, it's been over a year since I've had a single bad migraine episode. I truly consider him a miracle worker. Beyond his expertise, Dr. Cho's clinic is immaculately clean and has a calm, welcoming vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and Dr. Cho always takes the time to answer any questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. If you're unfamiliar with real acupuncture, know that this is not the strip-mall "spa" version. Dr. Cho practices true, traditional acupuncture -- a profound and often underrated form of medicine that can treat a wide variety of ailments. Currently, Dr. Cho is helping me with a few minor health issues, and I have complete trust in his care. We are so grateful to have found him and cannot imagine going anywhere else

However do note that it's cash only. While they do offer 60 minutes, 90 minutes is the sweet spot. For the location and services, it's a steal at $99 for 90 mins, with $33 recommended tip. This is a legit Thai spa, with staff who were trained in CMT in Thailand. The place is clean and the music is not intrusive. Lighting is dim and you can truly relax and feel like a new person after being rolfed. Despite a plethora of available modalities, the sweet spot is a Swedish-Thai combo. You get the best of both worlds, with the Thai introducing warming oils to the mix. Note: No shower facilities available, so if you are finicky, skip the oil. Although it's recommended. As soon as you enter, you fill in a questionnaire for any focus areas and any other instructions for your masseuse. Within 2 minutes you are let into your private massage and the masseuse works her magic. There's no clock watching and you get the entire time you booked. As the massage progresses and the modalities switch, you can feel the tension and knots disappear. It reminds me of Thailand level massages. There's limited conversation and you simply let your body relax and feel renewed. Tip: Medium firm is a sweet spot for massage intensity.
