Lisa at Concordia Travel Center FAILED/NEGLECTED to tell me that we needed visas to travel on the vacation package she booked for us, and because of that, we were stuck 2 nights at the connecting flight location to obtain the required visa. This not only cost us additional hotel and travel expenses at the connecting flight location, but we also lost 2 nights of hotel at our original travel location, which was at about $1,000 per night, and we also had to pay an additional $800 for re-booking the connecting flight 2 days later. I booked long trips w/ them w/ no problem, and my husband used them for our honeymoon. If you get Ted or Patty, they were very helpful. But I don't know what's happened to them recently, if they are too busy or understaffed or what, but we tried to book a beach vacation over spring break and the travel agent who I never dealt with before, (Micky) was so incredibly rude and just kept telling me how last min. it was and then never got back to me. I even followed up and then nothing. If you can't help me, at least be polite enough to say so so I can move on. Don't lecture me and then not help me. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try to contact Ted directly this time since he helped us before and we didn't hear back from him for a few days before that same awful travel agent contact us to say he was out of town. I kind of wish we got an automated response at least. Fortunately we don't use travel agents that often, but when we do we won't be using these guys anymore.

My wife and I used the McGuire Pax Terminal to fly space available to and from Ramstein ,Germany…read morewhile on leave. Overall the pax terminal runs a great operation but seems to lack strong leadership on the ground. When we were flying out only a few young airmen were present to check us in, screen our luggage, and drive us across the flight-line. The presence of a senior airman or junior officer might help with the organizational side. During the security checks the airmen rushed our luggage through the scanner, it seemed more of a check the box exercise than anything else. When I asked if they cared that I had a water bottle on me and a can of Monster they shrugged it off and waved us on. Overall not sure why I'm complaining, I wish the TSA was this fast. The terminal runs a GREAT facebook site with up-to-date flight times: http://www.facebook.com/JBMDLPaxTerm Don't be afraid to call the terminal if you have any questions. I found the young airmen to be much more helpful and well informed than their counterparts in my own branch of service. We flew both ways on a C-17 which isn't the most comfortable but not horrible. Make sure to bring a warm blanket, a neck pillow, and books/movies. There are 110V plugs on C-17s to keep your devices going. I recommend a small power strip, it might make you the most popular person on the plane. Check with the air crew first of course.
