This airport never fails to amaze me, as this is my nearest airport I go here quite frequently, you…read morewill always find seats no matter what time of year as both terminals are massive. The walk to the gates isn't that long compared to Stansted, the passport control queues are mostly good but in summer they can be pain, getting out of the airport is so easy, you can take the local bus (MetroBus) towards Crawley, or you can take the National Express bus towards London or the train, The only bad things are the amount of delays they are, and the £10 drop-off charge, otherwise staff are so nice and friendly.

We took a direct Norse flight from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) into London Gatwick Airport (LGW)…read more They are a secondary hub for British Airways and one of the largest operating bases for budget flights. My experience with this airline is only as an arrival, as I travelled through other parts of Europe by train and by air. The arrival was quite smooth as far as international travel is concerned. We were able to get through customs quickly. However sadly no stamp on the passport for the international travel. Restrooms had abundant stalls but there were really busy. The handwashing stations were individually in each stall. I had a decent experience in the women's stalls where I was comfortable enough to brush my teeth and wash my face. However my boyfriend mentioned that the men's side was really gross, not clean enough to clean up and reset after the long flight. My favorite thing about this airport is that it is connected to a train system that will take you into central London or whichever surrounding area you need to get to. Navigating was pretty simple. A quick and convenient arrival. I would consider flying back into this airport in the future.

Easier than Heathrow is definitely the selling point. Gatwick is smaller, less hectic, less crazy…read morethan Heathrow so worth looking into when making your travel arrangements. The Gatwick Express train option made things easier for us, and the security lines and boarding process was fine and as expected. They have the new security scanning equipment which supposedly allows you to carry 1 liter of liquid in your carry on which is a great improvement. I wouldn't hesitate using Gatwick. I wonder if you can avoid the London Heathrow luxury tax/fee when flying out of Heathrow in premium class which is significant.

Of course I'm going to recommend an airport. It's not like that you have that many choices unless…read moreyou have a private jet. This is the second UK airport that I have been in and they stressed me out to no end. They are so strict with liquids. It's ridiculous. You're literally the only country that's still a pain in the ass about it. Thankfully, I was offered a free check-in pack. First off you should always arrive three hours early for international. My drive to the airport was an hour and a half and you never know with traffic especially early in the morning and it's here in the week if it's rush-hour shit show or not. So we left a little early just in case. So technically, I am now four hours early until my flight takes off. You are not able to check in at the counter until it's three hours before beforehand so I am literally standing there for an hour. An hour goes by. I'm the first one in line and nobody came. 30 minutes later as assembly finally shows up there another 10 minutes later another person shows up and then another 10 minutes later we have another person. Everything is great no issues. I walk to the gates and I am greeted with Shopping galore. There's two floors of option. My ticket does not supply the basic information like what gate you're at. I read the screen and it told me that they will not supply the gate until 10:45 AM. I'm pretty sure that was literally an hour away. Just to be clear according to the tickets they start boarding at 11:15. They really don't like people conjugating around the gates, which makes sense considering the shit show in the US airports. If you wanna work on having an anxiety at airports, then this is the place to go. It tells you what time both the love of God I could not stop looking at it every 5 to 10 minutes. I literally walked around upstairs downstairs stressed out. I am not a fan of the UK airports by any way shape or form. But these are there options. Those are their rules and you have to suck it up and take it.
