1-Star Review -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more Our experience with Scuba Dogs in Puerto Rico was extremely disappointing, and the biggest issue was the complete breakdown in communication and the way the situation was handled afterward. A week before our scheduled dive, Scuba Dogs contacted us and changed our dive time from 9:00 AM to 8:00 AM. However, 24 hours before our dive, we received another confirmation email from Scuba Dogs clearly stating that our scheduled dive time was 9:00 AM. Naturally, we relied on the most recent written confirmation sent directly by the company. The morning of our dive, the staff began calling us around 8:15 AM telling us we were late for our 8:00 AM dive. We explained that the confirmation email they had sent us the day before stated 9:00 AM. At that point, instead of acknowledging their own conflicting communication, they began discussing trying to reschedule us. We were traveling through Puerto Rico traffic and remained in communication with them by phone throughout the morning. We arrived later than expected because of traffic, but still within 30 minutes of the 9:00 AM time stated in their most recent confirmation email. Despite knowing we were actively on our way, they had already sent our dive guides home. They then refused to provide the dive AND refused to refund our money. What made an already frustrating situation worse was the response from the owner and staff. Rather than acknowledging that their own confirmation email contained the 9:00 AM time, they argued with us and insisted that we were outside the scheduled window. It is incredibly frustrating for a business to send a customer a written confirmation with a specific time, communicate with that customer throughout the morning, and then refuse service and keep the customer's money because the business claims a different time applied. We understand that dive operators have schedules to maintain and that customers have a responsibility to arrive on time. But customers also have every right to expect a company to honor the appointment time stated in the confirmation email it sends 24 hours before the scheduled service. If 8:00 AM was truly the final scheduled time, then the confirmation sent the day before should have said 8:00 AM--not 9:00 AM. The poor communication could have been an understandable mistake. Refusing to take responsibility for that mistake, sending the guides home while knowing we were on our way, arguing with us about their own conflicting communications, and then refusing to refund our money is what made this experience unacceptable. We planned part of our Puerto Rico trip around this dive and were genuinely looking forward to it. Instead, we lost our dive experience and our money because of conflicting information sent by the company itself. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Scuba Dogs. If you do book with them, I strongly suggest saving every email and confirmation you receive, because apparently even the appointment time shown in their most recent written confirmation may not be the time they expect you to follow.

Spent money bringing our own equipment. Our dive was scheduled for 9:00 a.m., and we received a confirmation email 24 hours beforehand confirming the 9:00 a.m. time. While we were already on our way, at approximately 8:15 a.m., we received a phone call telling us that we were late. (We pulled over because he was talking about conditions not being good and needing to go a different day. We explained after talking with two different people that it was our only day. He said come on. We lost 15 minutes during those conversations.) We were told that they had sent a new email on Saturday changing our time to 8:00 a.m. We did not receive. We did however receive a 24-hour confirmation confirming our 9:00 a.m. arrival. About five minutes before we arrived, they called again and told us they had already sent the guides home. We told them we were only about three minutes away. When we arrived, they refused to honor our dive and also refused to refund our money. We understand that schedules matter, but when a customer has a confirmation stating one time and your company changes that time in a later email that the customer doesn't see, it seems unreasonable to hold the customer entirely responsible--especially when they are already driving to your location based on the confirmed time. We were really looking forward to scuba diving during our vacation, and this experience completely ruined that part of our trip. Unfortunately, based on how this situation was handled, we cannot recommend Scuba Dogs.

They do a lot of snorkeling classes here and it gets crowded in the water, fast. However, we did have fun snorkeling ourselves and got to see some fun, colorful fish and a turtle. The water wasn't super clear so you couldn't see too far down clearly. I really like how much there is around here. You can chill on the beach, chill on the grass, walk and get food, or see other sites. It is a nice location that is very walkable.

A lot of people walk, run, cycle along the trail which is attached alongside the ocean coast. The beach is organized with a nice layout. Parking is close. Places to sit and take in the scenery. You can easily find the place to rent chairs and umbrella if you want. Or you can bring your own chair and sit under the palm trees for shade. Or just lay out and relax. What I like about this beach is that they put up a long row of rocks to break the strong waves. So, you can go out really far and the water is not deep. You can more wade in the water or float. I came during hurricane season, so there were some strong waves crashing, but luckily the rocks kept things safe. I did not notice any restaurants, food stands, nor people selling anything. But I also came during the low peak season so it was chill. Still a lot of people relaxing at the beach. Loved this beach.

Due to the pricing discrepancy we were given an addtl hour on top of the one hour allotted. The staff was uber friendly! The office sits street side just near the lagoon. We were able to leave all of our belonging at their location. We were given basic instructions and sent on our way. There is a small sand bar where we rested, swam and enjoyed the view. The lagoon had others who were either paddle boarding as well, kayaking & swimming. I would recommend this company and will be using them again.

I learned improvements to some exercises I have been doing for years. I've only been going for three weeks, and I already see noticeable changes in myself. Normally I get bored of fitness classes and find them repetitive, but this gym mixes it up each class, so I'm often learning something new. This is a fantastic gym!
