From the first visit I could see how much he loved animals and also there was a feeling true kindness of spirit that I would continue to experience from him over the next 40+ years. My first time it was ChoCho a female Doberman and Rottweiler puppy bred by request after the first oops happened and she was the best of both. Then Sasha a "Shar-pei puppy who the always made Dr. Louviere laugh then remark that she was unusually friendly and social next to any others he had experienced. Sasha spent five days a week at our Taeknondo school where she was loved by many children from the age of 4yrs. to 16yrs. plus parents. She was "very social" but as her breed is known for she was very protective of our home and family. Many years later there was Baby a male Moyen Poodle of 40 lbs. was born in a rescue after the mother dog was separated from her owner in the evacuation of Katrina. Baby was my sole companion for 16 years and the first male canine I ever had. Today as I write this I have Jacques a red male Standard Poodle I am taking in to get his five year annual check up. Thank you Dr. Louviere for all the love you gave every animal who comes through the doors of your hospital.

I myself enjoy spending time there. More personable and more efficient than other vets we've used. This place was recommended to us by friends with an elderly cat. When I've waited I see a parade of cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Time and time again, CCV staff has proved to us that they really are the best in all departments. We use CCV for everything dog related; one of my pups is reactive to a lot of things (like, a LOT), and dealing with him is a very steep learning curve. Let's start with Dr. Marisa Muniak; after our primary vet left CCV, we were switched over to her care. Instead of being apprehensive about caring for my fearful and sometimes aggressive boy and passing him off to other vets, she jumped in head first, thinking outside the box, even went so far out of her way as to bring him into the play yard for his exam and routine vaccines so he'd be more at ease. Always willing to help, she has personally called me to ease my mind about some concerns I've had for my boy's health rather than having a tech call and relay the message. I don't think anything I say about her can fully give her the credit she deserves. All the techs and support staff (like Christina, Skip, all the kennel staff, etc.) are WONDERFUL and go out of their way to make sure I know that my pups are doing well in their care. Speaking of Kennel, Jamani (Kennel manager) is the BEST. My usually fearful, reactive baby wiggles his whole body in excitement every time he sees Jamani, and I think that reaction speaks for itself. We have had a few hiccups with my dog at boarding with CCV, and each time, Jamani went out of his way to make sure he learned something about how to best deal with him and his... quirks. The front desk staff, especially Bri, Amity, and Jarrell, are always a joy to talk with. When I have concerns, no matter how small they are, I know I can always call the front desk and they'll never make me feel dumb for asking even the smallest, most minute questions. All in all, we love CCV for all things pets! Definitely would recommend!

I wouldn't bring these incompetent people a PET ROCK to treat…read more Our geriatric bulldog has had a hematoma on his ear for 2 months. The treatment plan from these 'vets' is a bunch of prescriptions that are priced exorbitantly. Now the hematoma is spreading down his ear canal as well as to his other ear. When I took him for his follow up, I was told I was there at the wrong time and would be an EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT or I could come back in 40 minutes. How many ways will these people try to extract maximum dollars?? If they had lanced it, drained it & stitched it with a drain, he would be in much less pain, but we would not have had to return for multiple visits. Never have I gotten out of this office for less than $500. Too many veterinarian offices are NO LONGER trying to help animals. They are too focused on HOW MUCH THEY CAN GET for the service, as opposed to WHAT THE SERVICE IS WORTH!!

Because he receives his routine care at the SPCA, they do not handle emergency visits. I called around to several vet's in the area and the only one who could get him in same day was Magazine St Animal Clinic. Carson answered the phone and very professional, courteous, and friendly. I felt at ease at once. Arrangements were made to drop Aladdin off that same morning and go pick him up later. Carson would "work him in the schedule". I received phone calls when they first looked at him, asking me thorough questions about his health and care received up to now. I also received a call afterwards from the Veterinarian, discussing care and the treatment plan. I received the last call when it was time to pick him up. I was very satisfied with the entire visit from the initial phone call to paying the bill. Aladdin was taken care of superbly, and with love and kindness. I was even complimented on how sweet of a dog he is, and I couldn't agree more! (He really is a good dog) Thank you staff. Hopefully we won't have any more emergency situations, but if I do, I know where to go.

I am retired and live on a fixed income. That being said, my dog is now 7 and has never been to a Veterinarian other than when I first got them home to get checked and wormed. I cannot afford annual Vet. visit. I take my dog , every year, to a mobile Vet. for shots only. My sweet Allie had developed a growth behind her ear and it needed to come off. I was hesitant , knowing what animal surgery costs in the city by hearing of similar situations from friends and family. I was referred to Hickory Knoll by someone I trust! I was skeptical and nervous for my dog. This place is truly special!! My dog had a little area to as she's super skittish around people that she doesn't regularly see. They made her feel at ease, which surprised me. As of late , they take strict precautions as far as Covid is concerned. They come get your pooch from your car and offer payment options while in your vehicle. I can't say enough about how much Hickory Knoll has changed my perception of Veterinarians. They even call , twice in fact , to check up on your animal after the visit. They do this every time and it means a lot to me.

She didn't have any outward signs of issues, other than some scratches/scabs, but as she and I went on our daily walks, she developed a hematoma on the shoulder on the side where she was hit. Thankfully, she was already a patient at Maple Small Animal Clinic, and they were able to squeeze us in when I got off of work the next day. Dr. Schmidt examined her and noticed how that shoulder wasn't quite feeling the same as the other. While the dog didn't show any signs of slowing or pain, there was obviously something up. They took x-rays and, thankfully, nothing was broken or showing anything major, so she sent us home to a week of bed rest, icing, and relaxing to help it start to heal. We called back after a week, with minimal change, but Dr. Schmidt reassured me and we continued on with our plan. She told me it may take 6-8 weeks to really go away, so loaded with that timeline, I was able to relax a bit more about the lump on the pup's shoulder. Sure enough, after 3 weeks it was less than half the size, and practically gone within the month. I'm so glad the staff at Maple were so helpful and understanding, especially since she's not my dog, but she is their patient, they were really able to help me stay calm and get her the treatment she needed.
