Unfortunately I did not have a good experience as a bride with Jess.
We found her October of 2024 & decided to go with her as our wedding photographer. We were patient with her when she upped her prices by $1,000 & were also patient with her when her second photographer backed out 2 months before the wedding & she was not able to find another photographer (we understand life happens & it was not her fault at all.) we were a little iffy that we never saw any work from her husband who was her videographer or the second photographer, no name, no info, no portfolio.
I will 100% take accused stability that we should not have assumed she would accept a credit card payment, that's solely on us. However, we communicated with her that we took money out of our high yield savings to transfer to her. We also had cash & checks which she stated she accepts in her contract.
Fast forward to the day before our wedding. We were terrified this day wouldn't happen as we experienced multiple canceled flights & a snow storm (we are from the Midwest). We were very busy getting things ready for the wedding. Jess emailed me around 8:45am about final payment. Between our rehearsal, moving everything to the venue, & making sure guest were able to make their flights we did not see her email. Around 1:30pm when things settle down we get ready to sent the final payment. To my shock Jess sent an email saying she was canceling. I tried to call her, left a voicemail, & email her. As did my husband & coordinator. She ignored every single attempt at communicating. She then blocked me on instagram.
Unfortunately, she was unkind & unprofessional. I absolutely understand she is a business owner & needs to protect herself. However, ghosting the bride & groom the day before the wedding even with a non refundable deposit is cruel. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that she refused to speak with us. Our other vendors were appalled by her actions. One answer of our phone calls & we could have set up where to give her the cash or check.
Jess states this is the first time in her career she has done this, & I hope it's the last. No one deserves that kind of stress the day before their wedding. read more
