The popo, the mayor and even the library have all called this building home at one time or another. Now, Jimmy Love's pimps out street level while a mixture of cool-ass techies and other tricksters occupy the live/work lofts on the second through fourth floors. The building owner, Jason, is super friendly and does a fantastic job of keeping the building nice and purdy. The original, exposed brick walls make you feel like a real boss. Bossin' in the Gaslamp at the Old City Hall Building. Yeah. 5th and G is hard to beat. Usually super busy, crowded and some areas very smelly, I'd rather kiss a pig than be there. The WNDR museum caught my eye. Saw some ads and had nothing planned. Checked tickets and availability was wide open for that day. Easy entering the lobby as well as starting our tour whenever we preferred. There were exhibits upstairs and down. Many were pretty cool with mirrors and lights which made for some WOW moments. Other guests generally moved at about the same pace as us. Some stayed in certain areas for extended time, which, at times caused some backlog of movement. Restrooms located adjacent to the snack bar which is just beyond the entrance/ lobby. Easily a great visit for the young and young at heart! I believe the WNDR museum is scheduled to close at the end of August '25.

It had fantastic start, THOUGH INCREDIBLY TRICKY FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME WITH A WALKER (elevator. Curving Lines, Waiting, STAIRS DOWN/UP, Standing to Eat). We, HOWEVER, got a nice taste on Top of the AC HOTEL!!! As we were sitting there, a nice young girl, came over with some non-Alcoholic BEER AND KEYCHAINS. SO, so NICE!!! It was then off to the races ( SO TO SPEAK). We began at WHISKEY GIRL for Tacos and Margaritas. At BARLEYMASH, we had Chicken Ceasar Sliders. We were downstairs in a beautiful ARTDECO ROOM w/ a strong AC and a Tin Roof. NEXT, El Chignon and Havana 1920, BOTH WERE SO-SO. I thought HAVANA 1920 was better last year and the year before, with the sandwiches!!! DISAPPOINTED. We tried Bagel bites and Cream Cheese with Iced Coffee, at SPILL THE BEANS at 555 Market St. I want to say that my partner impressed with the look of TACO CENTRO, especially with the taste of the Genuine MEXICAN CORN. We will be back. We didn't make it to Bucca di Beppo, but we're glad to hear it was open. As Havana 1920 was a disappointment, so too was Cafe Sevilla. We couldn't even eat the Paella, we were served. OVERCOOKED, and blackened. We enjoyed SHRIMP, however, across the street at ROCKIN' BAJA LOBSTER!!! As I was leaving the LOO, I ran into the same girls giving away NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER. FINALLY, it was time for DESSERTS!!! First, we went to Galata ICE CREAM. We walked into the store, and were served by the owner's son. I had COCONUT GELATO, and my partner had RASPBERRY GELATO!!! YUMMY. As not to be outdone, SUGARBEARS SWEET PROVISIONS were giving out WHOLE CUPCAKES!!! I got a S'more Cupcake, and my partner got a Carrot Cake Cupcake. BOY, oh, BOY, what a TREAT!!! BOTH WERE A GREAT WAY TO END THE DAY!!!

This cool statue is located at Tuna Harbor Park at the Port of San Diego. It's furthest away from the ocean in comparison with the Tribute to Bob Hope and the "Embracing Peace" statue which is formerly known as "Unconditional Surrender". The Homecoming Statue depicts a family hug between a member of the Navy, a woman, and a child. This tribute was dedicated on August 13, 1998 by the San Diego Padres. It was created by Stanley Bleifeld. The original is in Washington DC. Other copies are in Virginia and South Carolina. When you visit the statue, park in one of the metered stalls in the convenient parking lot.
