I brought my son (19yrs old) to Je're to get his Afro under control. His hair was starting to dread on its own and it was too big. Je're was patient in understanding what we wanted and made knowledgeable suggestions which made my son feel comfortable with her. She detangled, washed, conditioned, massaged his scalp with oil and cut. He felt like a new man and can't stop smiling. I can't post real face pics because he's camera shy but I recommend Je're's services.

Hair felt very dry and brittle. Had to use water to soften a bit.

This review is about an appointment I had on Friday September 29th 2018. I have some pros and cons but first let me give my experience. I made an appointment for silk press and trim. While I arrive at the salon, I met Jere( hair shop owner) who first consulted my hair to see the type I have and etc. By judging of my hair she recommended that I shouldn't do a silk press due to humidity and weather , ok which is fine ( I didn't want to waste any money) so she recommended I do a natural twist out, which I first I wasn't too thrilled because I was looking forward to a more elegant style for a wedding i had to attend the next day. So going forward I agreed, I got the hydration treatment which felt nice with the oils and sat under dryer for about 20mins. When it came time for styling I was still skeptical about the natural twists because I know it as a maintenance hairstyle and it's not that great of a style to go to a wedding, but she convinced me that it would look nice and I should have no worries. She had flat twisted and put rod at ends and I sat under dryer for an hour. The hair was to be unraveled in the morning. OK now fast forward to the next day...the day of the wedding..I woke up extra early just to give myself time to unravel and see how it would look, as expected I wasn't impressed at all , in fact I was really upset because it looked like a hot mess and something I could've did myself at home. I didn't even want to go to the wedding looking at my hair. My sister has to finesse a hairstyle for my quickly because of how horrible it looked...I was quite disappointed at the outcome. I just wished Jere gave me better options of what to do for my hair especially if I had a wedding to go too, and I believed I should've just got a silk press and called it a day since the weather wasn't too bad . Pros: Nice salon Very neat Friendly staff Ample parking Cons: Long waiting time Uncomfortable chair for dryer

    The final result!

Twistout Magic from Natashia! She did it again! I've been going to Natashia for about a year and I've noticed that she is constantly improving her craft. Finding stylists that can care for and style naturally curly hair is still a rarity these days. I found Natashia on Instagram doing a session with Shea moisture and to see she was just a few minutes away from my house, I had to try her out! The first thing I noticed was that my appointment started right on time, so we were already off to a good start! I still have a lot of anxiety when it comes to going to salons with my natural hair. This is partly due to the fact that when I know I have an appointment scheduled, I tend to neglect my hair a little bit lol. But nevertheless, Natashia is able to handle my hair even at its knottiest. During this visit, my hair was at a reasonable level of tangle and Natashia started right away to separate the tangles gently with her fingers. After this light detangle, we were off to the sink. For my wash and condition, she used Design Essentials (I'm not sure what products exactly. I didn't realize they had so many product lines! I'll try to take note of which exact products the next time I go) which smelled amazing and seemed to be very conducive to the finger detangling process. After the sink and deep condition, we were back in the chair. Natashia gave me a choice of styling products based on what I know normally works. My favorite thing about Natashia is that she uses household styling brands like Jane Carter & Shea Moisture, which a customer can readily recognize and purchase on their own. Half the time I have no clue where to find products my other stylists use! This time, I went out of my comfort zone a little bit and tried the Jane Carter styling mousse. I always thought that line was for people with finer hair strands but it actually worked really well for me! Natashia did my twist out (ask for medium if you want the same curl size) and then added perm rods (I think the half inch, they were pink and thick). After the dryer, I asked Natashia to take my twists out in the salon because I usually make it frizzy when I take them out myself. The end result was super cute! I love the way Natashia does my hair and I don't know many stylists in the Long Island/Queens area who do natural hair and her prices are reasonable to me. I always recommend her to my friends! Feel free to check out my review of my first appointment with Natashia at her former salon for more info!

Sophia braided my daughters hair. She was very pleasant, patient and did a good job. Only downside was that a was a little pricey.

Very unprofessional and rude. This is why many businesses don't make it. Go elsewhere if you want a stylist that actually cares.

I told the owner I wanted burgundy reddish brown hair, my hair was dyed jet black for the past year. I told them please don't dye it orange or ginger. Red flags. 1) Only 1 person spoke English in the full salon, which made communication difficult as the customer only the owner knew what I expressed I wanted.... But he had the workers doing my hair who could not communicate with me 2) They never patch tested my hair. I have been a loyal client and have referred her tons of business because I knew she was starting a new business out on her own. But after yesterday, my opinion has changed dramatically. Her business has increasingly been going downhill and her behavior toward her clients worse and worse. Yesterday she told me to BLOWDRY MY OWN HAIR. The only reason I obliged was because I was in so much shock. She took me an hour late and then went 2 hours over time when I told her I needed to be somewhere 15 minutes later and had to meet a client of my own. List of shocking behavior: 1. Insulting me 2 appointments ago as to why I went a few months without seeing her. I considered leaving her then. I should have. 2. She has no respect for your time. Increasing wait time (up to 1 hr). She turned away a client and made her come back 3 hours later. 3. Double booking and forgetting to schedule you in. (This has happened twice.) 4. Only cares about your money. She told the client before me that her credit card machine was broken but took mine 1.5 hours later after confronting her about her unprofessional behavior. 5. Her work has been getting worse. My haircut is not as great as it was a few years ago. There are many other better colorists who blend better than her and know how to do balayage much better than her. Dont waste your time here. I dont know why I kept going back. Her haircut is okay but you can find better. Her techniques and styles are outdated. I was shopping around for a new stylist, but I only went back because I was hoping my suspicions weren't true and I was used to her at this point. But suspicions of her unscrupulous behavior were proven correct. Debrah doesn't care about her clients. She has no integrity. And her work no longer warrants what she charges. If I am giving you my money, I expect respect. I asked around to see if I was imagining things. I felt so hurt and undervalued. But everyone agreed with me. You DO NOT treat your clients like this. Your client is there by CHOICE. And we also have the CHOICE not to be your client anymore. Don't get so comfortable that you feel you can disrespect people like this. Let this be a lesson. Be warned.
