His tour is more inclusive than just the beaches which adds more depth and perspective. We went for the American tour during Veterans Day week which made it all the more moving. My wife and I took the 2-day tour that included not only the beaches and…read morecemetery, but other sites where the 80th and 101st Airborne landed, small towns including a visit with a Frenchman who lived through D-day as a 10-year-old boy. Stayed at the Trumble chateau 3 nights with great food. Ben Trumble is a real student of D-day and WWII. We visited sites where he showed us pictures of GIs taken there on D-day. You can see the corresponding landmarks today and truly stand in the footsteps of heroes. Finally a visit to the cemetery where we saw the graves of several of the soldiers whose exploits we had been following. I can not imagine a better tour with anyone more knowledgable than Ben. Staying in the restored chateau with great modern accommodations and food just topped it off. 2014 will be the 70th anniversary of D-day and the last time any of the veterans will still be around for a 10-year anniversary.
