Stayed at the Trumble chateau 3 nights with great food. Ben Trumble is a real student of D-day and WWII. We visited sites where he showed us pictures of GIs taken there on D-day. You can see the corresponding landmarks today and truly stand in the footsteps of heroes. Finally a visit to the cemetery where we saw the graves of several of the soldiers whose exploits we had been following. I can not imagine a better tour with anyone more knowledgable than Ben. Staying in the restored chateau with great modern accommodations and food just topped it off. 2014 will be the 70th anniversary of D-day and the last time any of the veterans will still be around for a 10-year anniversary. He knows the area, is well versed in the background information that accompanies many of the stories, and his disposition (and English) are excellent. Like many people, I've read extensively about WW2, and am versed in the related pop culture.. Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day, etc. So is Pierre. He's on the money with all his facts, understanding of key landmarks, and even the factual events that made their way into various movies as anecdotes or scenes. I'd do a tour with Pierre at HQ Company Tours again in a heartbeat. And if you're wondering if it's worth it, DO THE TOUR. You can read all the books in the world, but you'll never really get it until you see the bunkers, and the 88 mm guns that raked the entire beach. The cemetery is a must for every American to see. There's no better reminder about why we enjoy freedom, than to see the thousands of white crosses and Stars of David. Hallowed ground. Take the tour, use Pierre at HQ Company Tour. The company set us up with tickets to get from Paris to Bayeux and from there saw Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église and Pointe Du Hoc. Chloe was very knowledge and friendly, and left us a perfect amount of time at each stop to see the airborne museum, eat lunch, get our pictures and really just soak up each experience. I would recommend the tour and Chloe to anyone looking for a Normandy Tour.

Out of the many camping sites we sampled before arriving here I feel I am able to give a just…read morereview. Initially I didn't put this place at the top of my list, it is pretty much on the middle of no where and the booklet only rated it 3 stars. However I believe it warrants a strong 4. There is no road noise, none whatsoever. You hear the birds and your neighbours, and that's it. There is only one toilet block which has the chemical toilet, showers, toilets and the laundrette. There is a motor home service point around the side of the complex and each neat plot has a point for electrics. There were high hedges giving you privacy and shelter from the elements. There is an outdoor pool, although as out of season when I visited it was looking rather green. A games 'tent' with table tennis, füßball and air hockey. A small grocery shop where you can order pastries and bread for the next morning, a bar; and a snack bar which serves very tourist orientated food, hamburgers and chicken nuggets etc. The only gripe is that we asked for well cooked steaks and they were more on the side of rare, I know that the French tend to prefer things this way but it was taken down with the order and apparently the chef understands English. The proprietors Isabelle and Jacque speak relatively good English and went above and beyond for us. We needed to have our dog checked by a vet before we'd be allowed back on the Eurotunnel. Isabelle not only found us a vet that was open on the Monday (apparently part of some national holiday) but called and booked in for us as well. I would thoroughly recommend this site and would stay here again.

It was large, nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a king size bed desk, armoire, mini fridge, and safe. The Mr loved the USB ports for easy phone charging. Breakfast was in the main building and offered a variety of savory and sweet options + juices and a nice coffee machine. Parking was secure and reasonably priced, but we were able to walk to many of the local attractions and restaurants from the hotel. I would happily stay at the Belle Normandy again!

This and Cave de Mirande are two world class farmhouse cider producers, 4.3 level and up with ciders that rival the best wines, Belgian geuze, and American sour ales. Incredible. Pro Tip: you can STAY HERE! It is a bed and breakfast or you can park your camper or just camp in a tent here. House and cider cellar room is beautiful, family run. Staff was hospitable but exceptionally friendly and made exceptions for us to come in after hours. We rang the doorbell and got the royal treatment even though they had been closed for half and hour. They also sell, per usual, Calvados, Pommeau, and other artisanal goodies. Their Pommeau was absolutely incredible. Overall an amazing experience. A MUST on your cider trip through Brittany and Normandy.

Highly Recommended!…read more We visited during D-Day 75 year week and had a great visit. The accommodations were fantastic and worked out great. The home is up-to-date yet in a 300 year old farm home. The establishment has been a Bed and Breakfast for 30 plus years. Bernadette made our trip so special. Each morning we woke to a special breakfast and loved the homemade apple sauce, bread with homemade jams and preserves. Our room and the home was wonderful, clean, quite and very restful. Access to a community kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, cook-top and sink was a welcome addition. Our room overlooking the back garden had more than enough room for the two of us and the private bathroom and shower, although small, was wonderful. The outside had lawn chairs and a back garden area that was enjoyed on sunny days. We do not speak French and Bernadette speaks very little English but it did not impact our stay with Google Translate being our best friend. Bernadette suggested some great restaurants in the area and sites to visit. Highly recommended and we would love to visit again. Very good value. June 2019

We stayed in Domaine de Litteau during the 80th anniversary of D-Day celebrations with the rest of…read morethe club. As a result we primarily used the caravan and the bar/restaurant. Both were pretty decent. The caravan has a good living space with kitchen, a number of good bedrooms as well as a nice deck. It helped we had a dishwasher and a washing machine in the caravan. Don't bother about the TV. It is only French channels and the Google Chromecast doesn't work with the WiFi that you can buy. The bar is nice and the restaurant serves decent food. All in all a very pleasant stay for our purposes.
