Hello, my name is Ken and I broke my ankle and leg in a fall down the stairs back in January of 2009. The breaks one would think would have been bad enough but the severe ligament damage in the ankle was what actually broke the tibia in my leg. I was personally devastated because as the breadwinner in my household and a league bowler in 2 leagues at the time, my mobility is extremely important to me. I require surgery and was told I would need physical therapy to assist me in gaining back my mobility. I visited a neighbor of mine who highly recommended Jersey Physical Therapy. I made the appointment and from the very 1st visit felt like I had become part of their family. I was so afraid but was instantly put at ease during my evaluation by the friendly and caring staff. Upon my 2nd visit who walks in but my phys ed teacher who himself was a patient there. If I had any doubts at that point of which I had none it was confirmed I had made the correct choice. My therapist at times was not available due to family issues but I was always given a very competent replacement. My appointments were always on time and was very rarely delayed. If I had an 11 am appointment I was back in my car by noon. My time was just as valuable to them as it was to me. Please keep in mind that when one goes through physical therapy that the exercises assigned to you are critical in your recovery so you have to actually do them not just at your office visit. I committed to this program and as a result have no ohysical limitations. Also I did have to change my bowling game a bit by lightening my equipment (16lbs. down to 15lbs.) and I shortened my approach. The result was an increase in average from 204 to 214. Let me start of with a couple of disclaimers 1) I know someone who works at this place so I am slightly biased. 2) I have only been to one other physical therapy place. So I don't have too much to compare them with. I went there because I was having back issues. From lower back all the way up to neck (usually not all at the same time). They let me borrow two books to read - "treat your own back" and "treat your own neck" by Mckenzie. First of all if you have back issues, whether or not you decide to ever get physical therapy you must read those books. They're excellent. You could probably just read one, because there's quite a bit of overlap (but they're pretty cheap). I think it was good that these guys lent the books to me, because I was psychologically under pressure to read the books quickly and return them. Between the books and my physical therapists, there was a lot of focus on changing your lifestyle in general. I realized that my posture in general wasn't good, which combined with the fact that I sit on a chair all day resulted in my problems. I only went for physical therapy for a few sessions (may be 7-8), but I incorporated the exercises and better posture in my routine which makes me feel much better even months after I stopped the sessions. In that sense, I found this place significantly better than this other place where the focus on ongoing exercises was just missing. Which then only made me feel better while I was doing the sessions. Of course I don't want to be doing PT sessions for the rest of my life - hence I am glad I tried this place. To the extent that anyone cares about the facilities or the front office staff, it's okay. No worse than doctors or other medical providers in general. read more

I recommend this place very highly. I've had sciatica and low back problems for 30+ years and have found that in recent years my condition has deteriorated.  Finally after MRIs, Dr Meyler of Princeton Spine and Joint Center recommended my going to JerseyPT for a regimen of treatment.  After 12 sessions at the JerseyPT center in South Brunswick (approx mid-Nov thru mid-Dec), I am happy to say that I am immensely improved.  The therapists are well qualified, and the staff are very nice people.  I was given hands on therapy, as well as a battery of exercises to perform.  I received a thorough evaluation at the outset, along with instructions for exercises which I am to continue at home.  The staff is patient and discreet, and easy to interact with. They worked with me to  ensure that the workouts were performed properly and safely.  I can't believe how well I have responded, and I give much or most of the credit to the people of JerseyPT at Kendall Park/South Brunswick.  I have high confidence that the other JerseyPT centers will also be well worth visiting. Update - 01-02-2014 Time passes, and I am still much improved. Happy 2014! As of December 2015, I am still much improved over my state when I first went here. One secret is to do your homework. Jersey Physical Therapy is outstanding. The physical therapists are knowledgeable, thorough, totally professional and very pleasant. Therapy takes two forms. When you first start, you have one-on-one time with the therapist, where he/she applies heat, may massage the affected area, and does some stretching (in my case it was therapy both before and after a total knee replacement). That massage and stretching is following by a regimen of exercises. I've been to other therapy places where they show you the exercises once, and they you are entirely on your own. Here, the therapists escort you to the exercise equipment, watch you get on, and then make sure you are using the equipment correctly. Only after they see that you are doing the exercise properly do they leave you to do the exercises. There is a sense of camaraderie among all the professional staff that makes the facility very pleasant. It is very well lit, and has a full range of exercise equipment and tables. The office staff are of the same caliber. They are always pleasant, and explain very clearly what each individual's insurance covers. They strongly advise their clients to verify their insurance coverage also. I've been going to JPT on and off for well over a year, and, if needed, would definitely go back with confidence. read more

I went to Jersey PT because of a severe case of what turned out to be spinal stenosis. the pain was excruciating and the first day I could not get out of a chair. Doctors seen were virtually useless, wait and see, bear the pain, chin up type nonsense, Jersey PT started very slowly with me, gently but firmly, getting me to stretch my muscles and spinal column appropriately so as to relax the muscles and get the nerves in place. Gently three times a week the therapists worked out my kinks, acknowledged my pain and helped me understand the situation. Both were fantastic and succeeded and I am truly in their debt. Without the aides, I would never have done it either. They too were firm yet patient, Diane and Chris in particular, knew my situation and encouraged me each and every session. This is a group of professionals who know their stuff and how to deal with people in pain. I recommend them to anyone with a chronic or serious condition which could be eased by PT (which I did not believe in before this problem). The desk people were wonderful. They helped with my insurance and day one sat with me because I could not move and helped fill out all the appropriate nonsense required by the American Medical Bureaucracy. read more

I recently completed physical therapy for meniscus surgery. I worked with Avani Vora for every session and tailored my sessions specifically to work with her throughout my rehab. Avani was tremendous to work with and really listened to me as I progressed through the program. She very carefully put together a program which allowed me to progress at the appropriate pace and pushed me, in a very professional way, to ensure I did everything necessary to keep my recovery on track. She is very attentive to details and on executing every exercise correctly to maximize their effectiveness. This makes a huge difference when rehabbing. Avani was very friendly, very professional, very caring and made it a point to remind me that she was always available at any time if I needed to communciate with her. I made her aware of my need to get on a home program as soon as possible due to my work schedule and she worked with me in a way to make that happen once she was comfortable that I could do so. When I think of my progress from the day after the surgery until now, it really is incredible and I have Avani to thank for that. read more

I have been a patient of Jersey Physical Therapy on and off for about 5 years. I have been treated for both shoulder and back problems. I have also used a variety of therapists, all who were all very professional. They take the time to listen to your concerns and constantly ask if they are meeting your needs. I felt like they honestly care about your well being. The therapist assistants are very prompt in keeping with your appointment time. They actually take time to explain the exercises and assist you if needed. They were very accommidating as far as scheduling your appointments. The office help tries very hard to keep you informed of your insurance status as well as your up coming appointments. They are always pleasant and greet you by name upon arrival and departure which makes you feel like they care. I would definetely recommend going to Jersey Physical Therapy if you need physical therapy. They work well together and in the best interest of their clients. read more

I have been a patient with Jersey Physical Therapy for about 4 months now for a frozen shoulder. From the day one they have been fantastic, they really take the time to listen to you and make sure that you are always comfortable with the treatment. Both Mike Atzert and Sheena Nanavati have been taking care of me. They are so hands on from the time I walk in I feel like I am the only patient that they are taking are of, they do not rush at all. They watch over all my exercise making sure that I am doing them correctly. Even the interns who are they , are so helpful, they are always ready to help you guide you to the next exercise and encourage you that you are doing well. The staff at the front desk are always courteous and accommodating in whether you are late or cancel , with my billing and all the insurance details that I do not have to deal with. Overall I would say I really enjoy going there and look forward to seeing them every week. read more

I recently finished my second round of therapy at Jersey Physical Therapy, South Brunswick. I was introduced to JPT back in October 2013 after my Achilles repair surgery. I was referred to them by a friend, originally, because one of the PTs had also experienced an Achilles repair. I had nothing but good things to say about the staff, facility and the whole experience, so it was without hesitation, when I had bicep tendon repair surgery this past June, that I immediately scheduled my appointments with JPT. The staff is extremely professional and patient, going all out to make you comfortable and relaxed in what is often a painful and stressful situation. I have worked with Mike, Jeff, and Sheena as well as several of the student aids and they were all great. My experience in the 7 weeks that I have been in physical therapy at Jersey Physical Therapy has been excellent. All the therapists and supporting staff are top notch. They are compassionate and help you to monitor your progress in small but realistic steps. There is no magic pill to get better.. If you do the exercises that they give you to do both when you are there as well as when you are at home, then you will see improvement. I especially like when the thereapists are working with you on a table. Everyone likes to talk, the talking helps you to forget the discomfort that you have. I am thrilled with the care I am receiving at Jersey Physical Therapy. The staff is very helpful and accommodating and Geoff has provided me incredible relief. I have been living with the discomfort for so long, I think I forgot what it was like to be pain free. When I leave my therapy sessions I feel like a new person! I was extremely pleased with my experience at JPT on Route 27. I presented with severe pain in my back and down my right leg and foot. After just a few visits, the pain began to dissipate and eventually completely disappeared. The entire staff was very professional, caring, through and attentive. Each time I came, I received personal hands-on attention, including massage of the affected area, and various limbering and core strengthening exercises. I was also given instructions, for strengthening exercises, to do at home, on the days I didn't come and that I still do today. I have no more pain thanks to JPT. read more

Last year, my 10 year old son was hit by a car and it fractured his leg. Our experience at Jersey Physical Therapy was the light at the end of the tunnel for us. My son was very overly sensitive about anyone touching his leg once his cast was removed, but the therapists there were able to make him feel so comfortable, and that made all the difference in his recovery. The entire staff, from the receptionists to the therapists and aides were professional, yet still warm and accommodating. I would definitely recommend (and I do) anyone who requires physical therapy to make an appointment there. read more

Great facility staffed by professional, knowledgeable,friendly and caring individuals. My therapist, Avani, is highly skilled and within a couple of months of working with her, my pain caused by herniated spinal discs, has been reduced to almost nothing. She, and her colleauge Mike, knew exactly what areas to focus on and have achieved excellent results in a relatively short period of time. I went to JCP the day after I had shoulder surgery. When I arrived and met with Geoff Hunt, the physical therapist, I was not able to move my shoulder. After working with him for several months, I now have compete range of motion in my shoulder. I think the entire staff at JPT, including the front desk associates, the assistants, the aides, and the other physical therapists are kind, knowledgeable and very professional. I think they spent a lot of time with you and I have recommended JPT to many of my friends. read more

I had a very good experience at Jersey Physical Therapy. My therapist Sheena was especially helpful. What I really liked was the atmosphere. It was not overly medical and clinical.It was a very warm, caring, environment.The aides were very friendly and made my day with their laughter, They are young and enthusiastic. If you have to have pt it is so good to have it in an environment that does not feel like a medical setting. The front desk receptionist were very pleasant and helpful. I did a Google search for New Jersey Physical Therapy and made an appointment with JPT. The staff was very friendly and they actually helped me in a lot of trouble spots that I have been trying to improve over the past couple months! Def worth checking them out! read more
