This was my first time on a jet ski and I was really excited! But I was nervous because I'm…read more.. kinda heavier... as is my husband, who never rode a jet ski either. I was put at ease pretty quickly because I saw lots of big and small people alike signing up. The staff was very nice to us (the staff is your ordinary "beachy type" of workers - a little rough around the edges but perfectly nice.) Onto the safety - you get a life jacket (I'm a 3x women's and they had one that fit me which was great). You also get a nice little lesson (5 min) where they explain how jet skis work, where your safety cord is, what to do if you fall off (which happened to my husband...more on this next) and where the buoy markers are that you need to stay near. Into the water - Two employees went out with our group of 6 and they were excellent! 2 out of 6 people fell off the jet skis. One was my husband which worried me, of course. I happened to have a whistle and I started blowing it immediately. I barely blew it once before, Dustin (?) Brandon(?) (cute employee) was already heading over at top speed and helped out, waived me off to let me know everything was fine. Later one other kid fell over the side of his jet ski and the other employee spotted him immediately, zoomed over and got him back on the jet ski without any issue. (The reason a few people fell was mainly because we went out when a storm was brewing, so the water was veryyy choppy). Also - don't be an idiot. Don't make sharp turns if you're new at this. Other notes: It was a little pricey at $160 for 30 min for 2 people (you could share one and pay less, but what fun is that?). You can wear some type of water shoe or secure sandal if you want to, but i went barefoot as did several other people. The place where you put your feet has rubberized grooves. Finally, don't forget to bring a towel! We forgot and drove home wet - not fun. I wouldn't recommend this for kids under 13-14. Overall, a great experience and I will plan to re-visit this place!

My bf and I did the 90min downtown/Statue of Liberty tour on Mon, July 3rd and it was AMAZING!…read moreGerry/Jerry did an incredibly thorough inspection of each jetski with each driver prior to departure followed by a thorough safety demonstration as well. Also, you will be given life jackets. Being out on the open water and giving Lady Liberty and "hey, girl!" was EXHILARATING. Highly highly highly recommend it! Purchased: Groupon - groupon was doing a $30 off promo and I used ebates for even more savings. Win win. Here's the deal that we purchased - https://www.groupon.com/deals/empire-jetski?utm_source=&utm_campaign=UserReferral_ma Booking: Did it on my cell using the desktop version, but I probs would've been faster just using a laptop. Arrival time: Shoot for arriving 15-20mins before your tour start time so that you can peacefully fill out all the paperwork. Parking: The dock is at a Marina so there is lot available. Super easy to find if you plug in the right address to your GPS Dock: Well maintained - no complaints. There were 10 of us on the dock at one time. Lockers: There are decent sized locker available on the dock. We left car keys and some cash in there while we were riding. Bathrooms - none that we saw, so make sure you go before you get to the Marina. Jetskis - No complaints from us or any of the other 5 drivers in our party. What to bring to the dock: *Required* - Your IDs (tour guide will hang on to them until you return. They will be handed back to you once the return inspection is complete. Takes a quick minute) *Suggested* - water proof camera/phone case & water. Each jetski has a storage compartment. All that salt water hitting you in the face will get to ya lol What to wear: SUN BLOCK! If you wear sunglasses, make sure they are HELLA snug or that you have one of those strings that keeps them on your face. Ride itself - Again, super exhilarating! We had plenty of freedom to go as fast or as slow as we legally could. Personally, we slowed down in some parts to take selfies. Not a safe idea everywhere, but just listen to what your guide says (re: safety) and you'll get some nice, stress free, shots. Have a blast! Thanks again, Gerry!!

I found this business through Groupon trying to find fun things to do around the area for my last…read moreday in/near the city. I believe Groupon offered a cheaper price than what the business typically does so if you're trying to get an extra discount - look at Groupon and they're willing to price match. It also helps them as well since I think Groupon takes a fee from them. Nevertheless, this establishment was the first place to pop up and I have nothing but good things to say. My fiancée and I had an incredible experience. We did a walk-in with no reservation, and the young woman who greeted us at the front desk named Mia was very kind and respectful, got us in very quickly with no hassle and while waiting on a guide she asked some questions about our life and it made everything feel so much more personable. They also had a friendly dog but he usually stays in the other room if that's not your thing. Our guide Chahin met up with us after we watched the safety video and took us on our tour of beautiful NYC views, he was also a very friendly guy and talking to him felt like talking to a buddy or old buddy you're meeting up with again from like high school or something. If we were to have changed anything about the visit, we probably would've got the picture package (we're cheap but a picture explains the amount of fun over words can!) and we rode together and would likely take separate jet skis (but we did take turns half way through!). The experience was still a 10/10 and would be a must-do the next time we're near! Thanks again to the owner of the business, our guide Chahin, and Mia! And my fiancée who I'm so lucky and grateful to have joined me for this experience despite her fear of open water - love you bby xoxo

I had an absolutely awful experience and strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a jet ski rental…read more Beyond the actual ride, it was a massive waste of time--they require you to arrive 30 minutes early to set up, yet my original 4:00 PM appointment was delayed until 5:15 PM because of broken jet skis, and then we were made to wait even longer for missing group members. Right from the start, I was dealing with Mia, who originally promised to give me free photos and videos to compensate for all the delays. When we finally got out, less than five minutes into the water, my jet ski completely stopped working. Because of the broken ski, I couldn't accelerate and was stuck in the back. Phil, the guide, was leading up front and flew right by without even noticing I had stopped. Sitting helpless in open water for that long was a major safety hazard, and I had to wait around 20 minutes in the water just for a jet ski swap. Before I left that day, I went to see Phil directly about the media Mia had promised, and he said he would send everything via WhatsApp as soon as he finished fixing the broken jet ski. He never did. When I called early the next morning and spoke with Mia and Corey (the owner), Corey gave me a phone number to call Phil directly. That number turned out to be completely non-working. I waited at their office until closing, called repeatedly, messaged on WhatsApp, and was ultimately ghosted. I never received my pictures, my videos, or the full rental time I paid for. Zero safety awareness, broken equipment, terrible organization, and non-existent customer service. Save your money and go somewhere else.

You can tell they genuinely want you to have a great day on the water. They took the time to walk us through everything, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt comfortable and confident before heading out. The boat itself was in fantastic condition. Clean, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. It ran perfectly all day, which made the whole experience relaxing instead of stressful. There's nothing better than knowing you're on a safe, reliable boat so you can just enjoy being out on the bay. One of the biggest surprises was how convenient everything was. Having the café right there is such a great touch. We grabbed coffee and breakfast before heading out and came back to food and drinks waiting for us. It made the whole day feel easy and seamless. If you're looking for a pontoon rental at the Jersey Shore, this is the place. Great people, great boats, and a really fun, laid-back vibe. We'll definitely be back.

Took a one-hour harbor tour with my wife. I loved it! It's not what I thought it might be…read morepotentially, but once I experienced the natural limitations of imperfectly smooth water, I realized it could not be better. We had great weather (that's free!), friendly and safe guides, and a harbor that seemed uncrowded enough. We went on a Thursday, so the day ferries were busy moving commuters around, but we were the only personal watercraft on the water and we encountered a manageable number of NYFD boats, fishing boats, and luxury boats, I would only expect better if I were willing to (1) improve my own ride by becoming a jet ski expert, and (2) get on my own personal custom tour (which I did not pay for or set aside the time for). I also realized what folly it would be for a passenger to take video while moving at tour speed. You could do it, but the video would be bouncing all over the place and you might also lose your passenger after a rough wave. You would need that for full-time video, as the guides are paying more attention to safety and only taking pictures after they pause the tour. The one-tour gets you the meat of the harbor views - from up around 34th St of Manhattan and a view to the Empire State Building, to the Financial Center, Jersey City views, Lady Liberty, the Brooklyn Bride (and very close to the Williamsburg) and the South Street Seaport. It's great. Covering this ground and having any time for pictures requires speed. At one time, I think I was up to 45 knots in spurts, but generally just over 30. This will bang you around at times unless you're pretty skilled and have excellent throttle control. Mind you, I found my jet ski to have a very "tight" throttle as I describe it. It was like a small version of the brake on a ten-speed. I needed a strong tension to hold it, and changing position under high tension seemed to let it move too much. The jet ski would lurch. If they can get smoother throttles (can you get some like motorcycle throttles), that might make the riding less challenging. I paid for the pictures and got some. I wanted more pictures, but time is limited and these guys have to put awareness (safety) first and then progress on the tour second. I would suggest if you want a lot of photos, hire them for a private tour or a longer tour and you'll get more pictures. My wife is a real non-adventure/non-athletic person. She says she was literally praying to God before we even got there. Then she kept telling me to slow down. I can't blame her. I was surging and stopping, especially in the first 20-30 minutes as I got the hang of it. This experience can be a challenge for some who are fearful of everything. If they are like my wife, they eventually realize they won't die and it's actually safe as long as you are mindful of the surroundings. Of course, the guides do their part to hold you before traffic crosses, but sometimes you're widely spaced and you must use your own good judgment not to cut in front of the 30-foot luxury liner that for heading to open waters.
