After getting our roof redone, it was time to replace our gutters. I gathered several quotes, and Jerry's came in right in the middle price-wise. The crew was friendly and the installation itself went smoothly. My only frustration was the cleanup. Even though I always remind contractors to tidy up afterward, we still found screws, nails, empty water bottles, and other materials left behind -- unfortunately, this seems to be common with many companies. We also had an issue with the placement of one downspout. It was installed right next to our hose spigot, leaving no room to turn it on or off. We had to have the company return to adjust it. Overall, the work got done, but there were a couple of details that could have been handled better. read more

I was referred to Jerry's by a trusted friend who is a foreman for a large local commercial construction company. He had used the company when the current owner worked for the predecessor owner. I spoke to Jerry, the owner who arranged for Mike G, their estimator, to review my home and provide a proposal. I was requesting gutters and downspouts which I knew would be more expensive than those normally seen in the area. I asked for 6" semi round gutters and round downspouts. Bill, the estimator, insisted that 6" gutter would not be adequate to handle the massive overflow of water from the flat roof as well as the pitched roof, especially since my roof is metal and the water flows heavier. I accepted his logic but wanted a proposal for both 6" and 7". He was quite reluctant to do so, even after I stated that I would sign an agreement that if I used 6" I was responsible for water overflow. As it developed, 7" semi round does not exist, so I received a proposal for 6" and 8". I was always seeking semi round, and never the J square style. I consulted with my trusted construction foreman neighbor who agreed that the larger the gutter the better, agreeing that no matter how large/wide rhe gutter is there would be some overflow when we get our torrential downpours. Bill provided a proposal for both 6" and 8" gutters.I appreciated having a proposal for both diameters. But I obtained another proposal from a licensed insured gutter company and the proposals were both for the same measurements and product. But with more favorable payment terms from the other company (A 50% deposit to go forward, other company required none). Bottom line, Jerry's proposal was approximately $3000 more expensive than the other company. While i was very impressed with estimator Bill's knowledge and how he taught me a few things why should I spend $3000 more for materials coming from the same distributor, being cut with the same equipment? Yes, the real issue is who does the installation and if the company stands behind their product and workmanship. I had a previous estimate from Rainbow gutters, before being acquired by Jerry's. I called to ask if they would honor the quote. They agreed to do the job at the previous quoted amount, and they did a great job. We are a condo building with many cars in the parking lot. The crew was very accommodating when needing to move their equipment, and never complained. They worked hard and did a terrific job. Jerry's team did a quality job from start to finish. Unlike other companies who were barely on the property 4 minutes to estimate, or wanted to give an estimate from Google maps satellite view, Bill looked closely at each edge on the house, sized up challenges and talked through advantages and disadvantages of the solutions they could offer. Bill also provided a highly detailed estimate and very fair price, and responded within a couple hours to my follow-up questions. He educated me without the superiority attitude that some contractors give off. Flo, Jamie and Joe came out and did a thoughtful and careful job of implementing the plan. Salesman Bill Gallagher from Jerry's came by and looked at our job at our two story home. Emailed a quote and I mailed a 50% deposit check for the work to be completed. After multiple calls asking to schedule the job - they finally responded 4 weeks later via email (no courtesy of a phone call) to let me know that they couldn't do our work because they don't have ladders tall enough and that they would return our deposit.... Never heard of a gutter company that's afraid of heights! Best to train your sales guy too.... read more

They get two stars for answering the phone. Appointment today for 9:00 for estimate to install gutters. I drive over to the property that's getting worked on and wait. Estimator called ahead to say they were running :20 behind. Ok. Thank you for letting me know. I wait 40 minutes and get an email with a proposal. Wtf? I didn't see anyone here. I call and get the estimator who said he went to the address (which was wrong) and I ask him where he is now ... he says he's in his way to his next appointment and his day is full and he'll let me know when he can come back. (No apologies for wasting MY time) Little do they realize that the customer also has very little spare time in their day to accommodate a contractor's schedule. No thanks. read more

My roof needed to be replaced. That meant the existing gutters had to be removed. They couldn't be reused so they were to be thrown away. (I asked if they could be recycled or sold but no.) Here's where you really see who people are: I called South Florida Gutters Depot that installed my gutters in June 2014. They quoted $250 to remove the gutters. Yes, knowing that they'd get paid for all new gutters once the roof was on and that they just did the house 2 years ago. How do they charge a previous and current customer $250 to throw away the gutters? So no, I didn't hire them to remove the gutters and I didn't give them the new gutter job either. Even though their sales guy is a doll. Then I called Jerry's Seamless Guttering. I love these people. I mean it. My husband unexpectedly died on a Friday. Grant was at my house the following Monday, as previously arranged, to quote the gutter job. We never met - but he hugged me as soon as he saw me. And he hugged me goodbye. Not only was Grant's price to install all new gutters better than South Florida Gutters, he said they'd remove/dispose the existing ones for FREE. Grant sharpened his pencil when he priced my job. Maybe he had insight that when a spouse dies, the paychecks stop coming too. (And what I've found out since is that it can take months before you see a penny. That's exactly what happened/is continuing to happen to me.) Beyond the better price and hugs, they sent me a condolence card. I was shocked. They just met me. (Funny - South Florida Gutters got my business in 2014, along with homemade brownies and a 4 star Yelp review and didn't acknowledge my husband's death beyond the sales person saying something.) A few days ago Corey and Darius did the installation and Grant made sure I was happy with the job. I am.They were organized and professional. And the gutters look great. I love Jerry. Yes, he's gruff. He's also a very kind person who attracts kind employees. And I love that he didn't gouge me. I love that he and his team kept me informed. They did everything they could to show me they cared. Here's an example - a turtle laid eggs in my front yard. I called Jerry and asked if his guys could be careful in that area on installation day. Do you know it was one of the first things Corey said to me when he arrived to install the gutters? Wow. I'm sorry I didn't think to bake for Jerry's guys. They did more than keep to their word about price, materials and installation. From Jerry on down, they protected my investment and treated me as if I was their cherished customer from day one. It is a long story, a simple job took weeks and repeated requests to do the job as written in the contract, so to summarize: It was a very annoying ordeal, and my gutters are still dirty and leaky! Jerry's is practicing bad business buy requiring a 50% deposit up front before they even put you on their waiting list. Other bigger gutter companies don't require any down payment and come out in days. Although it looks like and I believe Jerry's is a good, honest business no one should help encourage this practice. Can't say enough nice things about Jerry and his team. I called a few places to get quotes for some downspouts and repairs to my existing gutters. Jerry came out, was very professional and provided a very fair estimate. In all fairness to everyone, I received 3 quotes in total. Jerry was right in the middle. I learned my lesson with picking the lowest quote in the bunch. I decided on Jerry, he gave me a date / time that he would arrive. He showed up promptly, was fully equipped to do the job, didn't need to leave and go "get supplies" and kept messing around. Jerry spent the better part of a day here since I asked him to do more than originally agreed upon. He was MORE than fair and accommodating with everything. In my opinion- ABSOLUTELY WORSE GUTTER COMPANY I HAVE WORKED WITH!! Hired to replace old gutters. New gutters would not drain. Had about 4" of nasty water in both gutter runs. And nearly all the gutter clips could be seen from the road. The job just looks horrible all around. I complained and finally the owner Jerry came out. I explained that I got another gutter company out here to evaluate my situation and they showed me the the centers of the gutters were very high and would not drain. He said they would need to be rehung and the holes in the drip edge repaired. When I told Jerry this he said to give him the chance to make it right. I did and the pictures you see here are the result. Jerry never said to me if he rehung them they would look like this. Jerry never even said that he didn't recommend doing it. Just that he could do it and make it right. I just got off the phone with him and in my opinion he was very rude. He admitted that the job looks bad but that there in nothing he can do about it and that we should have left it the way it was. He never explained to me that this would be the result if he rehung them. I am completely disgusted. This is a new roof not even a year old and the drip edge only had one hole every 6 ft or so in the old gutters, now the drip edge is full of holes, bent, dented, and twisted. The job they did filling the holes is laughable, in my opinion. Our signed contract says they will give every customer 100% satisfaction. This is not the case in my situation. I asked for my money ($479) to be refunded so I can get these fixed. He flatly refused and said to take him to court. Which I am absolutely going to do. ONLY REHUNG ONCE! ALSO, IF YOU'VE HAD 50,000 SATISFIED CUSTOMERS IT WOULDN'T KILL YOU TO REFUND ONE JOB SO I CAN GET IT FIXED CORRECTLY! THAT WOULD BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I GAVE HIM THE CHANCE HE ASKED FOR NOW WE GO TO COURT. read more
