Did you know that, according to Inside Edition, 8 out of 10 Auto repair shops cut corners or will…read moreactually damage your car to get further work down the road?! When shopping for a trustworthy mechanic it can be nearly impossible unless it's a referral from someone you know, like and trust. Ricky Strickland aka (Stricklands) is not only trustworthy, he shows you the repairs done, explains what caused the damage, wear or tear and in addition to going beyond to alert you to any potential future issues, is direct and honest about the time it will take to complete it. A one man shop, he is always buried with work so you'll want to arrive at 7:30 am on days you visit to get his 1st come 1st serve service. His prices are moderate and fair. "Oh that'll run you about $800.00" is not something you'll ever hear at Stricklands. His no haggle pricing is not based on some notion off the top of his head but rather a national standard for labor provided by Texaco. He's not the cheapest in the Greater Valley, AL / West Point, GA area and he's not the most expensive. What he is, however is prompt and reliable and he stands behind his work. Stricklands has been in business for over 28 years. That alone tells you that he runs a clean business. Always slammed, Ricky wont have time to stop and chat about them Atlanta, Braves or War Eagles with you but you'll enjoy a very clean waiting area if you're going to sit and wait. Conveniently located on the famous Chatahoochee River, just a spec over a mile from Georgia's last exit south on the I-85 corridor, you can walk across the historic railroad tracks and visit a truly unique civil war era train station, enjoy multiple food establishments, go on a kayaking trip or just relax at the park directly across the river while you wait for your car or truck to be super tuned! and you will definitely leave confident your repair was exacted with expertise, thoroughness and precision. The only reason this shop cannot get 5 stars from me is due to the fact that with the overwhelming demand for time placed on a single mechanic, he is not able to deal with issues related to electrical problems. Here is what people in the area said about Strickland's Texaco. "Once you gone Stickland's he'll be your Mechanic for life." - J Freeman & Son, llc - Local business owner "I cannot recommend Ricky and his business highly enough. He's a good guy and does outstanding work...he has always treated me fair" - Jim Duncan

You'd think for 5k, they would at least offer a loaner vehicle. They did not. The service department staff was rude and dismissive when we asked for detailed information on delays in receiving the transmission and the repair timelines. They also failed to contact the warranty company after they were notified that the vehicle had an extended warranty. I towed the vehicle to Auto Gallery in LaGrange on 3/20/26, and they made it clear that they would not be able to assess the vehicle until 4/3/26. The vehicle was ready for pickup on 4/9/26. It was not the transmission and the repairs were covered under warranty. Paid a $100.00 deductible. The Langley repair department is either severely incompetent, or the dealership allows employees to take financial advantage of their customers. Without any question they have the best shop and mechanics in the area. Scrupulously honest,…read morefriendly and reliable. I will not take my car anywhere else for mechanical issues. The entire staff, from the top down, are courteous and ethical. They also show remarkable alacrity. Having had the misfortune of using another dealer I was acclimated to a more languid pace on service, as well as a certain anxiety as to the competence of the work done. Not a problem with Langley as they keep you informed and they work with impressive speed and skill. I cannot recommend them too highly. They are the Platinum standard in dealers and service.

I was told they would have to deliver the next day due to it being on a Sunday. I was given no bill, nor direction on how to pay - I was just told it would be delivered Monday. Found out from my son that he had given him a business card and they wouldn't deliver without the bill being paid. Most towing services that I've used in the past gave me a bill on site and I took care of immediately. Bill was $75 recently from Tiger Towing (much better company to deal with). Took directly to site - no gouging of storage fees. I called this afternoon (not much later than I was told that I needed to call and pay. The bill was over $300 and the owner said it would now also be 2 days storage. What!? After getting mad over the outrageous bill and treatment as a customer, the bill went to over $400 due to the "storage" fee I guess? Storage is a parking lot in front of their shop - no fenced security. DO NOT use unless you want to be charged an astronomical fee. We will see what my insurance has to say about the charge. Insurance would only pay $300. Surprised at that due to the ridiculous price.
