Five years since I wrote my first review on Jeri's; five hours since I last ate there. Breakfast and fried chicken still excellent. Roast beef is unbeatable. Fried mushrooms are incredible. Great doughnuts are back four days a week. Once in a while they miss the mark; who among us doesn't. A great eating experience with super small town flavor. read more

A nice small town restaurant with an old fashion feel. Had a buffet of fried chicken and roast beef with mashed potatoes/gravy and corn/green beans along with a salad bar. But I opted for the rueben sandwich as it is on of my go to when gaging a places food. The rueben did not disappoint! Wasn't try and had just the right amount of messy goodness to it. Fries came with it and were good fresh crispy fries. Tried an onion ring that was excellent but would never be able to finish an order along with a sandwich. Quantities are large. Service prompt and friendly. Atmosphere welcoming and clean, love the curved booths that sit 4 comfortably. read more

Sub par food and the management by Eric is even worse. I bought a red Powerade and was charged $15. I told them and he called me the next day saying I'll have to come back in so he can put it on my card. I drove 45 minutes from my office to come in and he had cash only and said he couldn't be bothered to worry about my card. Won't return. read more

Sweet little cafe in a small town on US 400. Great service! And Kevin was a great waiter! It definitely has that hometown feel that we love to experience when traveling. Quite a selection of food. We ate breakfast and supper. Both were well worth it! I would definitely recommend stopping for a meal if you're headed to Colorado or Wichita! read more

The food has good flavor however when addressing the server about the lack of side items compared to main item, there was no concern or effort to resolve this. We've eaten at this place twice now traveling through town with our two young kids. This time, we had breakfast. The kids had the kids menu pancake/bacon. It came with 2 pancakes and 2 slices of bacon on each plate. The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. We had an omelet and a breakfast burrito. Both were very good sized and full of meat. The waitresses were friendly and quick with the coffee refills. They also serve daylight donuts at the counter, and have daily dinner specials as well. Definitely recommend. read more

Be sure to take cash as you will be charged a 3% surcharge for using a debit or credit card. The wait staff is great but that's where the good ends. The resturant is smoky and when you leave you smell like grease which is very unappealing. The food is average. read more

Ok and typical fare, however, gravy was extremely salty. Serving staff seemed to not care much for sanitation as several times they were touching food with their fingers on people's plates to reposition when taking them to the table. The servers then would pick up dirty dishes and do it all over again. The salad bar was not kept clean with cross contamination of various foods in other food bins. Just had breakfast, everything was absolutely delicious, can't brag enough. Chicken fried steak best I ever had.

We stopped in here for lunch when both of the antique stores in town were closed on a Saturday. My husband had the chicken fried steak, which he said was even better than the chicken fried steak at The Barn! I had two tacos, and they were delicious. The side of green beans was smoky with bacon in it. I recommend it. The service was good and there was an interesting mix of Americana and Mexican on the menu. Do give it a try! read more

This review is for May 29. I wanted to like this place--a local restaurant in an old-fashioned small town downtown. However, we waited an awfully long time to get our food, and then it wasn't very good. The meat on my BBQ beef sandwich had chunks of fat on it. It came with chips and nothing else. We couldn't get our waitress's attention to order dessert, so we had to order pie from someone else. It was just OK. My apple pie was short on apples and "long" on crumb topping. read more

We came from Seattle to visit relatives and had breakfast there every morning. It was so good to find a place that wasn't pretentious, like the diners in Seattle. Sure, the service was a bit slow but it was a great place to drink coffee, hang out, and meet the local people. Had to even order a shirt. This is exactly what we were looking for! While driving across Kansas we wanted to find a locally owned small town cafe versus a chain. We found this using the Yelp app and are grateful. They had a buffet but we don't do buffets and ordered off the menu. Service was great. Food was great. I had fried chicken and my husband had the catfish....both were delish! Fried pickles were best we've ever had. We were stuffed by ordered pie and coffee anyway and were not disappointed. The waitress told us that the owners grandmother makes the pies fresh daily. If you are driving through looking for a place to stop I highly recommend this place. read more

My husband and I were driving through on our way to Mesa Arizona and decided,after reading previous reviews, to stop here for a late breakfast. We both had the western omelette. It you was good but pretty average. We probably should have ordered the fried chicken steak that they are known for. Service was good, the restaurant is very clean and quite popular but the best part of our visit was getting a chance to meet Jeri and her lovely pie making mom. Excellent menu selection of Midwest comfort food. I enjoyed a great catfish dinner, my wife had a sirloin and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. For the first time in years, there were no leftover fatty pieces - the whole steak was tender and delicious to the last bite. We are coming back in the morning for breakfast. read more
