Multiple dresses were dirty or damaged! If im buying a new non second hand dress I expect it to be clean and not damanged! She will also request you take your shoes off and put on grotty slippers that match the grotty floors... No changing room youre just supposed to strip in the middle on the shop to try on. (I was mortified and so i kept my bra and vest top on) Not ideal. She quickly asked if we had the covid vaccine and told us we will die as a result, i thought she was going to refuse service because we are vaccinated. She also went on about 5 different conspiracy theory rants during the appointment (go put on your tinfoil hat my god) Back to the experience. She kept harping on about how her 30 something nephew would love me (im buying a wedding dress not speed dating so felt this was fairly in-appropriate). Anytime i mentioned my fiance she would pitch her nephew!!! This isnt speed dating im getting married! Anyways onto my size im 5,9/10 and broad, I used to power lift so have a decent amount of muscle. Im a uk 14/16 and was told she had very little that would fit me. I tried a few on, and the only one that fit have makeup stains and oil stains and had beads hanging off it, another dress had a massive 3/4 inch rip in it! I told her my high street size before arriving and at the appointment she told me she was sat their thinking about all my would be insecurities as a woman of my size would surely have and she was trying to plan how to hid the parts of me i hated about myself with a dress. She then kept commenting on how toned and not flabby i was! She was shocked a woman of my size wasnt fat apparently! She then referenced how plus sized brides tend to get bigger skirts to hide their bodies and it ends up making their a**es even bigger! She also spent so much time tearing down other women and went on a sizeable rant about girls being pumped with filler. (I feel bad for any women that feels she needs to pay to alter herself due to a lack of confidence but I dont not think tearing other women down to build yourself up is the right thing to do) She also couldnt be bothered to try and do the dresses up properly so when trying on they were all bunched up in weird places (is your job not to literally do that) In a dress i tried to test movability and dance-ability and one move she said 'Thats how those black women dance!' which again i thought was insanely in-appropriate. Her entire sales pitch is dont go to wed2b or wed4less as you wont find anything of quality. ... Well i went straight to those 'budget' stores as she called them found my dream dress and veil and had an amazing experience there! I went to 4 dress shops in total and this was by far the worst experience! I imagine shes bitter as she likely sees less foot fall due to them! She spent alot of time bashing how certain women dress, or what their bodies look like and spent even mpre time talking about how cheap her dresses were...i would not be paying 700/800 for a stained or ripped dress my god. Also we werent allowed to take any photos in store due to 'contracting issues' with designers?!

That's where Abbey Wedding Warehouse comes in as they sell sample wedding dresses for a fraction of the price of non-sample equivalents. The shop has quite an old-fashioned look to it with a deep burgundy and cream exterior, a large door knocker and an archaic gold font for the sign. Dresses here appear to be a mix of simple traditional styles and notably vintage look pieces. They come in a very wide range of sizes and include bride's maid dresses for small children. If you're looking for a quality dress on a tight budget then you may just find a bargain here. Visits are by appointment only.

You are given 4 rings and simply put them around the hangers of the dresses you like. You can then try on those 4 before going back out to choose another 4. The dresses are samples from shops so they generally only have 1 in each size and when they sell they are gone so be aware of this if you fall in love with one! It was moderately busy for 1130 on a Saturday. We got a changing room straight away though. One of the assistants helps you out when you get changed then she kindly suggested some dresses she thought would suit me as well and went to get them. They had some stunning things in my size. You are possibly a size bigger than normal here so beware when choosing! I could have happily bought 2 of the ones I tried on. The lady also helped me try on matching veils. Again I can't wait to go back and try on more dresses here.

The whole thing just seems far too much stress and effort to me. Don't get me wrong I want a wedding. I will probably go for the big white wedding option but I want it as hassle free as possible. I thought I would take the plunge and try look inside a bridal shop and Stella's was fantastic. The whole place is immaculate and air-conditioned. The dresses are beautifully cut and are made with the most luxurious fabrics with unbelievable detail. As I have nothing to compare this shop too I realise may have been overly impressed but the owner made me feels sooo special and for the first time I thought the whole wedding day business might not be horrendous after all. In fact I am truly looking forward to it now and may go back to try a couple of dresses on in the not too distant future!

Very helpful in assessing the dresses you try on which are based on your score of dress, they listen to reasons for score and suggest other dresses to try on. They picked out my perfect dress in this way. My advice would be make an appointment as they seem to be very busy, always a good sign. Lots of thank you cards in the shop from happy customers. I've no hesitation in recommending a visit here.

Today was my first and only shopping experience for my wedding dress, and I wanted the perfect dress. I went in with an idea of the dress I wanted and the bridal path stocked it, I tried it on and fell in love. However Amy (the lady in the bridal boutique) said I should try on others I might surprise myself. Boy was she right, I tried on dresses I thought I would dislike massively and they soon became the front runner. I then was undecided with two types of dresses and the girls came up with a "wildcard" as they called it. At this point I thought I don't know what I like I'm going to have to think about it. Well the wildcard won me over I felt like such a princess and it's the most perfect dress ever! I ordered it there and then and honestly cannot fault any part of the experience. The girls treat you so personally, they aren't pushy and couldn't be more friendly if they tried! The lady who served us was sooooo friendly and genuine, which is hard to find sometimes when you're looking for brides and bridesmaid dresses. We ended up getting a lovely taffeta pinkish bridesmaid dress for me and my sister and they altered it (for more money) really well for me! They had some beautiful bride dresses as well, it's definately worth a look. They don't come cheap, but they look gorgeous and well you only live once!!

Stepping in I felt at home..awesome vintage lacy apparel lay at the front.. to the back were two rails of corsets. Behind the till sat Lynn the manageress and a colleague. It was quite late and I was straight to the point..I want a over bust corset please!! She asked if I had one before I shook my head..she immediately whipped out the tape measure and discussed my options. I tried on the only 23" corset on in the shop as a guide and before I knew it was choosing the colour and material etc. After leaving a deposit she instructed me too look at Urban Threads for my embroidery piece while the rest got made. Communications within those two weeks were consistent and I went for a fitting. Everything was perfect and she helped me decide on the lace .. Within another week and it was complete..the fit was amazing and quality was perfect.. on the way out I spotted a waspie which I had to also buy! If you are a corset virgin come Here! The average corset is £200 made to measure but it's steel boning and silk . Lynn is also so very helpful and even showed me how to lace myself up..if you are thinking of a corset come here as it's important to get a proper fitting one!

The staff are lovely, very knowledgeable when it comes to fashion. You can pop in for a browse and a chat, no pressure to buy which is nice. My friend owns quite a few custom made pieces from this boutique and each one fits like a glove. The corsets are top quality and beat any 'waist trainer' out there.
