I couldn't recommend Jennifer more! This was my first time trying acupuncture - I found it strange at first but eventually came to enjoy my weekly appointment and dedicated time to relax. Aside from being a great acupuncturist, she's an intuitive, insightful, & knowledgeable consultant and support for physical and mental health. Every visit, she asks me "what's new?" and dwelled on important details that my normal doctors don't care about, then offered help. I've always wanted a holistic doctor and she brought this aspect to me. I tried acupuncture after having 2 early miscarriages and upon learning that acupuncture is proven in studies to help. Well, among other things & life changes, it seemed to help as I'm now 3 months pregnant :) Thank you Jennifer! I will definitely be back in future life phases. read more

I had severe pain in my leg and my sciatic after a major lake surgery. I've had years of pain going and worked with Jennifer for one session with Cupping and acupuncture for the first time in several years. I feel minimal to no pain, and I've been sleeping better. I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend it to anyone. You don't feel the needles from the acupuncture at all, and it is very comfortable. She knows what she is doing, and she is fantastic at it. read more

I have gotten acupuncture from Jennifer since she practiced in West LA back in 2006. When she moved to the Ventura area, regular visits weren't possible. However, my sister has always remembered a specific treatment that Jennifer did on me years ago to reset my body clock. She and I are naturally night people, and her vampire-ish sleeping patterns often interfere with her 9 to 5 job, so I took her up to have an appointment with Jennifer. We pulled into the lovely woodsy-feeling parking lot for the office and drove to the back, where her suite is. Her office is in the Vitality Wellness Center - parking right outside her door was super easy! I knew that Jennifer's nurturing and healing way would put my sister at ease for her very first acupuncture experience. After filling out paperwork in the waiting area, my sister went in for a pulse reading, thorough consultation and treatment. As my sister relaxed and let the needles work, I had a consult with Jennifer about the blood chemistry analysis work she does. I've been focusing on detoxing and getting really specific info on my health lately, so this kinda thing is exactly what I need. Jennifer told me all about how traditional blood tests are an overview, but her analysis reports get super specific. When she told me that the lab that she would refer me to for the bloodwork would cost way less than I'd anticipate for such detailed info, I knew this would be the thing for me to focus on in the new year. She said that whenever I was ready, she would refer me to the chain of labs so I could do a fasting blood draw at a location near me, and then schedule with her to see which supplements and herbs would be best for my body. People are getting sick all around me, so I asked Jennifer to do immune system boosting acupuncture. I was surprised to feel that her needle-ing felt even more gentle than I remember, so I mentioned it. She said that she changed the size of her needles since the last time I saw her. Now they are so thin that I hardly feel them going in at all - and I zonked out completely just like I always do! My sister loved her super gentle needles, especially since she was a first time acupuncture patient. She said that Jennifer really helped her lung congestion and upper back tension (she has asthma) with some cupping after her needles were out too. In the days that followed her session, she's also been able to wake up easier in the mornings than she has all year. She knows that a lot of her late night sleeping hours are behavior triggered, but she does notice that she has less resistance to getting to bed at a more decent hour. Seeing Jennifer makes me wish she still practiced in West LA. I can't see her that often anymore, but when I can, it's always worth the drive! read more

I am not scared of needles, but I have never had acupuncture before I walked into this office, so I didn't know what to expect. I work with my arms and hands a lot, and get regular massages, but my massage therapist suggested something deeper. When I made an appointment with Jennifer, she was warm and answered all my questions about how acupuncture worked. When I met her at her office, she was similarly warm and explained that she would be doing a thorough intake including asking questions about physical and emotional things that might not seem connected. She asked about the foods I eat, the stress of my job, the hours I work, the things I do for fun, and the things I do to take care of myself. I really liked that she took her time with me. Her presence was very calming and I felt totally comfortable sharing personal details with her. After my intake, she took my pulses and looked at my tongue, and asked me a few more questions to clarify what we had talked about. Basically, I work a lot and am always challenged to spend the time to take care of myself. Since she is a working mom like me, I totally felt like she could relate to my 24-hour a day mom and work schedule, which was really nice. She had me lie on the table on my back, and put these super fine needles in. I don't know how many - not a lot, but more than several. Before putting a few of them in, she asked me if a spot was tender before choosing it, sometimes giving me the option of one spot vs. another. The needles were much thinner than I expected, almost hair thin! They weren't painful going in, just a little zingy feeling on a couple of them. What followed was so interesting! Jennifer dimmed the lights, directed a soothing heat lamp on my feet, handed me a bell to ring if I needed her, and then left me to relax. Within minutes of her shutting the door, I experienced a deep zonking out and these super vivid dreams! I think I was out for at least a half hour. All I remember is her coming back in the room and asking me how I was doing, and gently taking the needles out. After fully waking up, I felt calm. I felt quiet. I felt like I had been on vacation somehow. I wasn't making the lists in my head that I usually make whenever I have a quiet moment, even, which I what I had originally planned to do when she told me that she would be leaving me to relax! Jennifer did a little massage on my shoulder area, which felt great and also helped me wake up fully. I walked out of there feeling light and happy and like a few layers of stress had been peeled away! Now I know why my massage therapist swears by Jennifer and and acupuncture; that was truly awesome, and I will so be back! read more

I was having some issues with insomnia and didn't want to use medication. After searching for a good acupuncturist, a friend recommended me to Jennifer. I was taking a trip to Santa Barbara and on the way up stopped by her Ventura office for a treatment. Jennifer was attentive and warm and I felt like she genuinely cared about my issues. The treatment room was very quiet and comfortable. I barely felt the needles and I was so relaxed I drifted slowly to sleep. After that first treatment I slept better than I had in years. I have been to Jennifer several times now for acupuncture and my insomnia has improved a lot. I also tried cupping therapy to alleviate some neck and shoulder tightness that accumulated from years of weight training. My neck and shoulders feel so much more loose and relaxed since. She is definitely worth the trip from Westwood! read more

Love Jennifer!! She helped me immensely with sleep issues through acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I especially enjoyed her use of aroma therapy, heat and meditation during acupuncture sessions. I also appreciated her insight and depth of information about what was going on with my body. I have had a series of treatments with Jennifer and she has demonstrated not only true professionalism but also skill with traditional Chinese medicine. She has very good bedside manner and was able to make me feel comfortable immediately. Jennifer was clear when communicating my treatment plan and I really like how she is always studying and learning more. I feel like the root of my concerns were being addressed as opposed to just my symptoms. If I still lived in Ventura, I'd still be going to her. I definitely recommend Jennifer to anyone seeking a very knowledgable and extremely capable practitioner. read more

It's been about 2 to 3 months now seeing Jennifer for my muscle weakness and pain all over my body, knees, stomach, wrists etc. She has been so patient with me and has spent so much time explaining to me about how foods can cause this type of problem after having me take a questioner at the beginning of my 1st treatment. She explained to me Leaky Gut and took time to explain the foods to eat and which to stay away from. She put me on a pure natural cleansing powder full of vitamins and herbs as well as liquid vitamin D, she advised I eat certain foods, avoid certain foods and drink the cleansing powder for 30 days. She had me do a blood test for gluten intolerance/food sensitivity where I found out I have a problem with gluten and other foods. This helped me a whole lot because I was eating foods that I was allergic too. My boyfriend who lives out in Culver City and couldn't afford to come to her for treatment, she was nice enough to find drs. in his area for acupunture and also helped in his treatment without even seeing him. She is such a sweetheart. He is doing really well and is keeping the same diet as I'm eating. I feel so good all the time with the foods she advised me to eat. I further researched and I seem to have gluten ataxia where the protein in the gluten affects the neurological areas of the brain and muscles. She is treating the areas in my body with acupunture for this problem. I highly recommend Jennifer! She will be worth your trip! I'm doing so much better and I'm pain free! read more
