Jackson's Laundromat & Dry Cleaning - Dropped this off at Jacksons to be laundered. Got it back with the price tag still on it.

Jackson's Laundromat & Dry Cleaning

It's a good straight forward laundromat. If it's your first time, it's now called "Rusty Tub…read moreLaundromat" but you still map it with the old name. Area is safe and it's clean.

I never thought I'd be writing a review of a laundry mat- but after moving to Lawton and ending up…read morein a home that doesn't have a washer and dyer (yet), this review is inevitable. I've searched around for the perfect laundry mat for the last month. I have yet to find one, but this is the closest thing I've found to perfect in terms of laundry facilities in Lawton. This is a military town with a lot of young single men- so naturally these places seem to be at every street corner (along with barber shops and liquor stores). Jackson's, so far, is my favorite. This place is large, well-lit, and never busy. They are a corner building so they have a lot of windows lining two walls, which allows for a lot of natural light. The floors are white tile and the walls are white which also just makes the place seem much brighter. It's very well-kept and always clean. On any given day one or two of the machines are broken- but they have well over 20 washers and dryers- so unless you're washing clothes for an Army, you're not going to have a problem finding enough space. The washers are $1.25 a load ($4.00 for the extra larger washer. The dryers are $0.25 for 8 minutes on high heat. All machines are run by quarters. There is no ATM in the facility- so you need to bring cash or coins. There is a person at the main counter who can exchange dollar bills for quarters- which are typically handed out in $10 rolls. I've never had any issues with the machines, but the smaller machines cannot wash larger items like bed spreads and comforters. I didn't realize this and one of the machines started smoking. The employee at the time came over- huffed, puffed, and annoyingly threw my comforter into a trash can and moved it to the "large machine where it was supposed to be". I'm sure they were annoyed because my washer-ignorance is a reoccurring issue with every customer, but I truly didn't mean to over-fill the machine and apologized a dozen times. My words didn't appease them though. Since then I've opted to only come in the evenings when the employee working is a woman from Denmark who is remarkably personable and kind. The daytime employees seem a bit more... on edge. But the evening employee (after 4 on weekdays) seems a lot nicer. The machines work well and honestly have relatively fast cycles and drying times. The place is well-maintained. There's a large TV in the center hanging up with family friendly cable shows on throughout the day. There are two vending machines- one with treats, one with drinks. There are even pinball machines and free wifi to keep you entertained as you wait for your clothes to finish washing and drying. The facility also does 'paid washing and drying' (where you pay them to wash, dry, and fold your laundry- then you pick it up) and dry-cleaning. Overall- a well-earned 4 stars to this place. It's nice. Is it the best laundry mat ever? No. But for Lawton, out of the 5 I've visited, this is the best one I've found.

I hope ownership sees this and makes changes…read more At 2:58 p.m. on New Year's Eve, one customer had just left as I was walking toward the door with my bag. The door was locked. A girl popped her head up over the counter, looked at me, then ducked back down. She checked again to see if I was still there and ducked back down once more, almost like she was playing peekaboo. I was simply trying to drop off a bag with my clothes. As I was leaving, I saw two girls stand up from behind the counter and start laughing as if the situation was funny. This is not my first negative experience with this cleaner. Just the week before, they spent nearly half an hour trying to locate my clothes. Additionally, my co-manager, who also uses this business, had his clothes lost as well. His pregnant wife was even asked to look through racks to help find them. I work for a company that currently utilizes this establishment, and I can confidently say that out of our 300 employees, none will be using this business going forward. You are placing your business in the hands of teenage employees who appear more focused on goofing off than providing customer service. Also, the multiple pictures of cheerleaders displayed throughout the store are concerning. While I understand supporting local schools, the amount and placement of these photos honestly gives off a creepy and unprofessional vibe.

Great service and friendly employees. Did my sons graduation gown for free! What a great community…read moreservice.
