I've been a customer of Jeff Smith Ford for the past six years always had a positive experience with the fleet service side of Jeff Smith Ford when coming in for a simple car maintenance schedule with my Ford Edge Titanium. AJ is my service advisor and always been upfront and very helpful when there is an issue comes a long and need it fixed. The service technicians who work on the vehicles are nice and very helpful when explaining where is an issue. There is plenty of seating inside of the fleet service building, drinks and eat machine are available just incase you get hungry. Plenty of parking upfront by the entrance to the fleet service building. How long is the normal wait to get your vehicle looked at? All depends on the current day and time you arrive with your vehicle it is best for you to drop off the vehicle just incase you do not want to wait for the vehicle to be looked at and to see what is wrong with it. If I had to recommend the fleet service center side of Jeff Smith Ford I definately will! read more

Totally overpromised and under delivered! We wanted a specific package.... They "secured" the exact truck AND a back up identical truck... to be picked up Tuesday... We were out of state on business until Friday... and arrived Friday for final purchase of our new truck!.... Manager went on a 10 minute story about how hard he worked- I interrupted and told my husband- "he doesn't have your truck".... Why waste our time... why not just call us and say there was a problem before we drive to your distant location... Promised and "located" another ideal truck, but it had to be delivered... "we could get it on Saturday!".... NOPE... closed Sunday, so 3pm on Monday we went! Truck was wrong COLOR, wrong PACKAGE...WAY LESS AMENITIES! Oh and had crushed Doritos in the back seats, a dent in the side and the truck bed was not coated...the list goes on..back seats not heated/cooled, the locked back compartment was not there, the generator not available.... Etc, etc. DEMANDED MY TRADE IN BACK! And guess what... after pulling out of the Jeff Smith Ford lot in Byron...my kid found 3 EXACT TRUCKS with requested amenities IN THE STATE WE ARE HEADING TO FOR THE NEXT MONTH! The manager talked a good game... tried to wow us with his "flight school", his "contacts" etc. ...but we don't care about that.... My family has had its own airplane, been to Marsh Harbor (Bahamas) which he bragged about, and my extended family had a house there! I don't give a crap about any of that! We own ALL OF OUR vehicles...and I was willing to buy a $100,000 truck outright!... we can trade in, and finance... but even if we don't, I can write the check and be done! My husband has worked his butt off for over 30 years providing for our family... he's had the "used" car, the "economical" choice, etc... It is time for him to get HIS IDEAL TRUCK! Pathetic that Jeff Smith Ford OVER PROMISED and tried to pawn off a SUB-par vehicle! Lack of communication, salesman "pitch" to try and redirect, all of it was BS! The service department is great and have been very helpful. But... The sales team is a load of bull. My trucks transmission went out a few weeks ago and I had it towed up to be worked on. While waiting to see if ford would cover the fix I went ahead and started asking for numbers on a possible trade in as I need a vehicle quickly. I talked to a sales man, told him my situation and told him multiple times I was ok with doing a "soft pull" just to see if there was even a possibility to get approved with my recovering credit. He reassured me three separate times that it would not hit my credit and was "just to see what we were working with"( my mistake for trusting him I guess ). I then got a notification from Credit Karma that there had been a hard pull on my account. I then flagged our sales man down and asked him why they had done a hard pull after reassuring me three times that it would not hit my credit. He said " there is no such thing as "soft pull" ( even though that was the exact words he originally used) and that they had to hit my credit "to see what it was at". I expressed my concern about both the lies and the fact that it will now show up in my credit history but reluctantly agreed to move forward to look at what trade in price and rates would be since the "damage was done". While waiting on a trade offer to come in I got a notification that they had done THREE MORE HARD PULLS with out my consent on my credit and said they where "trying to find me a good rate" and that " because they are doing it in one location that it would not affect my credit" (which I knew was BS), at that point I was beyond pissed off but stupidly stayed another few minutes to see what they would buy my truck back for, which actually was a reasonable price considering the current issue. I then left hoping my fragile credit would not take any long term damage but sadly a few days later I now see that my report is still showing three hard hits, which is the average expected number for a whole year, and my score went down, and to make it worse in my experience and research that will take at least a year, probably two, for that to come off my report. As a local full time first responder and part time service member I am extremely disappointed in these people and their intentional deceit. I am going to take a copy of these above statements and screen shots I have to the BBB and credit agencies but I'm sure at this point there is nothing to be done. read more

The express lube customer service department is the absolute worst people and the folks across the street at the fleet side are just as horrible. The sales guy Tanner and a few others from the sales department were great but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I dont have the time to sit here and type out the problems I've had with this place nor the space being you can only type so much. The amount of lies I've been told to my face the fake services they done on my truck down to the warranty PLEASE ppl pay attention to these people when they have your car make your tires before you go in because they arent rotating your tires!!!! Sent my wife to Jeff Smith Ford in Byron Ga with her 2022 Explorer Limited for an oil change and inspection. While there, my wife text me and said it only took them 20 minutes to change the oil and do the inspection which peaked my interest. When she returned home, I inspected the vehicle and nothing was done except for the oil change and coolant check. There was dust still on air filter and cabin filter indicating it was never inspected. I sent the vehicle knowing it was needing cabin filter and air filter but they never wrote it up or check it. Vehicle is also on the verge of needing brakes and tires. Nothing was wrote up. Called dealer and expressed concerns. Dealer checked cameras and I was correct. Nothing was done but the oil change. They called me back and stated they suspended the tech. Thats all fine and well but no one gets caught their first time. I just want people that do not know better to be educated when sending their vehicles to be serviced. These vehicles cost too much for poor service. read more

I can't say enough good things about this dealership. In the last 2 weeks we have had to take 2 vehicles in for service. One was covered under warranty, the other because of age of car was not. DO NOT GO HERE!! I honestly don't understand how they think that this customer service is acceptable. Just save your time and money and sanity and go somewhere else. We brought our Ford Explorer on October 2 to Jeff Smith Ford in Byron, after calling in the previous day. We were told to give 24-48 hours for assessment. I spoke with Lynette and told her the issues. Our main concern was the ac went out but there was also a recall so I mentioned that as well. I was told there were no loaner cars at all the previous day on the phone so we had a rental car lined up. After she checked the extended warranty on the computer, her words were "Yep, you're good. I see it here." So I left after this. On October 5, I came back to Jeff Smith Ford to check on the status of my car. I had not heard anything about it since I dropped it off. The gentleman asked the tech if they had looked at my car yet and he said no. On Monday, October 7, I received a text from Lynette saying she was told I stopped in and they were hoping to review everything that day. On Tuesday, I texted to see about an update and I was told they were getting a parts list ready for the extended warranty. Side note: at this point, over a week in -- you would think that the extended warranty would have been checked. Wednesday, October 9, I checked in for another update. I was told they are waiting on a part. Maybe tomorrow. Thursday, I receive this message: Mr. Talbert okay so we had to get your vehicle with the lead tech .. the a/c not cooling is due to your A/c Condenser and pully I am submitting to your extended warranty now for approval. I will let you know in just a few what they say Did not hear anything back that day. Friday, October 11, I am told the extended warranty is expired. 10 days after I dropped the car off. I have paid for a rental car for 10 days out of my own pocket up. Then told the ac repair would be $3,664.47. And that they could try to see if Ford Assistance would help. I was frustrated because I was told I was good and now 10 days later I'm told "You're not good. It's $3,664.47 for the repair" plus the rental car expense. So I was told I could pick up the car (this was Friday afternoon) I was already out of town for work and told I could pick up my car for the weekend and return the rental. That was not even an option for me at that point. I reached back out Monday morning (October 14) for an update. I was told they had not received an answer yet. Tuesday, asked for an update. And there was still no update. And then that brings us to today, October 17, this is 15 days later. And told that Ford Assistance denied the request and that I owed $179.95 for the diagnostic on the ac. So after 15 days, the ac is not repaired. My extended warranty that I was told was good -- is not, I owe $179.95 (which I don't have). And I've spent close to $1,500 on a rental car. For nothing. If this is how you treat all your customers, this is embarrassing. And I will never recommend Jeff Smith Ford to anyone. This has been one of the biggest head of my life dealing with this. Update: I went in to pick up my vehicle and spoke with Steve the service manager. Wow! Very disrespectful, very rude! Had his arms crossed the entire time and very condescending and unprofessional. He told me he didn't care if I left a review because people have their opinions. He said I was just wanting something handed to me and that he did nothing wrong. I have always liked this dealership as it has given a small town feel with a good selection of vehicles. However, the experiences I have had with the service department in the last 15 months have me to the point where I will never step on that lot again. The most recent was I had to have an engine put in my Explorer, which was fine, but I was told one price over the phone and then after the work was done the price had gone up by almost $4,000. The writer got the pricing back into a reasonable range and I paid it. Then the a/c wouldn't work, took it back and it was supposedly under charged. Got it back and it still didn't work. They then kept it for over a week and finally repaired it by installing a new compressor. When I picked it up I was literally told that they went above and beyond and didn't even charge for the a/c compressor, like they did me a favor. How are you going to say something like that like when your incompetent mechanic(s) are the ones who broke something that worked beyond flawlessly when the vehicle is left in their care. If a company is going to treat someone like this and talk to them like they should be grateful then I have zero desire to spend a single penny there. Any mechanic shop should not act this way but ESPECIALLY a dealership where the best mechanics and parts are supposed to be. read more

Was sold on a the Bronco and was excited to trade in my SUV. Went in and they took my car key while im looking at their inventory claiming they need to (test drive). 35 mins later my SUV is still not back. Someone pulls up at the back of the building, (didn't know I was standing there) in my vehicle and gets out with groceries. He went grocery shopping (10 miles) with my car claiming they are test driving it. I asked to speak to their manager as i was very shocked, never bothered to call back. Which tells me it's a normal practice over there. They help themselves to clients' vehicles to run their errands. Not trustworthy! Still getting a Bronco but definitely not from them. I agreed with general manager Ryan about my terms. payment. interest rate. trade in value. etc. I guess I agreed to a payment that was over inflated because when I went to sign the contract they changed my trade in value to 39000 instead of the agreed upon 47500. so they robbed me of 8500. now they dont want to fix this. yes I should have payed better attention., but that doesn't give you the okay to rob someone of 8500 dollars. While I can tell anyone on this sight why they should go here, I can tell you about my experience at Riverside Ford in Macon that made me so Happy to return to Jeff Smith. Riverside Ford basically made me feel like a sale to me was not important by a salesman name Chase. This 15 year old looking kid did not even check my credit and basically told us that our business was not worth his time. What a joke! I have taken my vehicle to them for the same issue( replace my passenger side mirror attachment, and replace the pillars on both passenger side doors) three times now. Every time I drop it off, they just take it to the back of the shop and park it. To this day, they fail to replace the parts that I needed replacing. They always give me the same reason as to why it did not get done(the other person did not know what needed to be done). My feeling for this not being taken care of is that, I am a Black Man. My first time at jeff smith ford. Not counting a bad experience at jeff smith jeep. Should have listened to my instincs. Too my 2015 f150 in for an oil change. Took almost 2 hrs. Kid kept walking around the shop talking to other techs and appeared to be borrowing tools. I was wondering why his shirt was so nasty. Then I saw him wipe his dirty hands on his shirt. ?????. Finally got my truck back and went to lunch at chicfila. When I came out there was a puddle if oil under my engine. I went back and told the service writer whom started making excuses that the way it is on an oil change. I told him hasn't happened in 9 years. He agreed to ck it out. The same nasty kid took it in and supposedly fixed the problem. When I got back into to the truck the steering wheel was greasy and the door arm rest was greasy. My right mirror had been struck on something maybe the lift post. I reset the mirror and wiped off the grease. I parked in my usual place in my garage noticed oil dripping. That when I saw the greasy hand prints on my hood. Called the dealership and was passed to 3 people to no avail. Was told someone would call me back. Nope, didn't happen. Purchased my van in 2021. At first, I was excited, the price was good, vehicle looked great, but it's all the stuff afterwards that was an issue. I could not get them to give me any copies of the paperwork I signed. I would think that's simple. I've purchased many cars over the years and every single time, I've received a packet with copies of everything. These guys kept saying they didn't have it or have access to it. Finally, I got some of those papers sent to me (so they did have it - how about that?!). Fast forward to 2023, the battery died. I have the extended warranty, took it to Dodge where I live, and they say there's an after market battery in it. I do not know if Jeff Smith should have disclosed that to me, but they did not do that at any point in the process. Both the local Dodge & Ford dealers where I live say I need the paperwork with the warranty to get the new battery. But Jeff Smith says no, that's not true. No paperwork is needed and they supposedly have nothing to send and we should just look at the battery for the warranty information. All I got was this person trying to explain to me how the basic warranty works like I don't already know. I went over everything with Dodge locally, already, and then with Ford (locally). According to the TWO dealerships local to me, they can't get what they need that way and need the papers. Why is Jeff Smith making it so difficult? I think it's probably because they are shady when it comes to paperwork, at least, and probably didn't actually file or keep it. They don't care about the customer. They don't care about customer service. All they want to do is argue with you. I don't need that. I'm not calling to have a debate about warranties. I just need the papers to get my vehicle running again. I don't have the money to buy and replace the battery, it's expensive, and I am disabled. All in all, I would steer clear of this place because they'll be alright beforehand but once you buy the car, they are terrible. read more

We purchased our last vehicle from Jeff Smith Ford. We received a call from them on Friday stating they had some great rates and our number had come up to come in and see what they had to offer. So, on Saturday morning we were met by Rico, who stated he was a sales manager and passed us off to Josh Kemp, who had already passed us his business card as we pulled into the lot. We test drove two vehicles and went inside to "talk". When Josh Kemp realized he wasn't going to make a sale, he said to us......"that's one good thing Jeff Smith did when he built this building.....he put "3" doors in, so you have "3" doors to choose from to leave." He then walked off. (there was no handshake, no thank you for coming, or no if he could be of any assistance for a future purchase to contact him) My husband politely walked off to our car. Once I gathered my purse and walked out, Josh was already parking one of the vehicles we had test driven. As he walked by me heading toward the door, he points and states, "you are $10,000 in the hole with that vehicle, $10,000 in the hole." (all this as he continues to walk past me) I said, "whoa, whoa, whoa......you do not have to be so rude." He stops, and turns around, and of course said he wasn't being rude. I told him I wanted to make an appointment to have my air conditioning checked and he points toward service and tells me to go over there. He reluctantly walked me over there and left. I called after pulling out of that parking lot, and asked for Rico, the sales manager, who we had met upon arriving. After going through about 4 people, (one of whom said he was Rico, but wasn't) I finally got Rico on the phone who was kind, apologetic, and said if we wanted to come back he would be happy to help us. At this point we were definately NOT going back to do ANY business with Jeff Smith Ford. As far as the remark about the "3" doors.......I am so thankful there are more than "3" dealerships where I can take my business. read more

A friend ordered a truck from here and sold them his current one, after waiting 7 months for it to arrive they tried to slap on a $5k "market adjustment" to it at the last second, of which he was only able to talk them down $2,500 on. For anyone who isn't aware, markups on stock units is not uncommon especially in these times, but markups on custom orders are completely unethical and considered in very bad form. Especially considering that they literally would not have even gotten that truck if he hadn't made a custom order. Dealerships like this are why Ford is looking to stop using dealerships altogether and move to a direct to customer sales platform. Steer clear of these guys, they're the types that give car dealers a bad rep. Simply unethical and shady. read more

Terrible & rude customer service. I bought a F-150 for about a week and the black manager continunously called me 3-4 times demanding my SSN. If he needed my SSN, why didnt he asked me for it when I present in their office signing the papers? I have told all my facebook friends, families and neighbors not to buy any cars from this location in the future. I still have the phone calls videos if anyone is still interested. Brought my new f150 for its first oil change and sat in the service isle for 10mins with Noone helping. They walked by smoking cigarettes several times but no one offered help. Finally I called the receptionist and they got someone to tell me that the "service drive" wasn't where oil changes were done. Then I went to the dedicated oil change place and sat outside waiting for another 15. I then went inside and after waiting for 5 more mins, someone showed up to take my info. They had me ban from the dealership and they promised to do work on my van and has refused to . I hear riverside ford in Macon is pretty honest . There's a few good employees here but it sure is not the guys I named . I'm in the works of suing them and they think nothing is going to happen . The detail guys don't know how to detail a van I had to take my van to get it detailed after I bought it . After I bought the van we found over two foot of trash under where you fold your seats down into the floor. they refuse to install a part on my van that's fine I'll pay a shop to do it and sue them for that . There's another car lot in Byron that the owner of this dealership is a partner with . my van was advertised on sale and they charged me extra. Had a truck; employee told me truck could tow 11000 lbs. This ford installed a hitch that can tow only 5k lbs (the bumper can already do that so why would they waste my time) and then they said they truck can only tow 7k lbs, in which they still didn't put on a hitch to tow that. Finally they have the nerve to tell me that an F 150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost Engine (the best engine for Fords FLAGSHIP tow truck) can only tow 5000 lbs. They ended up taking their hitch off and they only gave us half the money back. Do NOT trust them, they are shady people, so get anything important signed in BLOOD. I purchased a Certified used car from Jeff Smith Ford that I test drove and inspected. The purchase was made and arrangements for the car to be delivered on Monday since I was by myself. The car was delivered with one key fob and a TPMS dash sensor light on. I complained to the deliver person and he told me to call the dealership. The dealership is useless. I have talked to Steve, Charlie, Brandon, and Bronco and they refuse to fix the problems. Multiple phone calls for weeks with empty promises and finger pointing. The TPMS light is caused by faulty sensors ($80 per wheel) and the key fob is $200 (special programming required). Do not buy a car from this dealership or you will be "Certified" to fix their lazy work. So frustrated with the time I have wasted calling this dealership. read more

They promise me they would repair my truck from a initial purchase, once I drove back to get my car repaired they told they would not repair it anymore. I was looking at preordering a new vehicle but learned that this dealership adds an additional markup on custom orders directly from Ford! This is not ok! They will not tell you anything until the delivery day. If they are doing this in custom orders no telling what other shady practices they are partaking in. There are plenty of dealerships out there that will give you custom orders at MSRP. This is pure greed on their part and I will be looking at other dealerships to purchase a vehicle. read more

Even though I did not purchase my F-150 I believe I get treated as if I had. They do exactly what I ask them and if something else pops up like a recall or they noticed something amiss, I get a call. I can honestly say that the prices they charge are the most reasonable I've encountered with any car I've owned. Pretty quick about getting me in and out without a lot of fuss. I always have someone drop me off but they always offer to take me back to my shop anyway. Great service all around. read more

Sales guy did a great job didn't BS me and kept it plain cut and simple. Then a finance guy got involved and lied to my face! saying everything that we had discussed would be included, extended warranty extra services and my monthly payment was set at this and no increase in payment would be done. I say ok let's sign some paper work. Thinking wow this is a great deal! As I'm reading through the paperwork. NOTHING WAS ADDED! All warranties extra services and deal we made was not in the contract. Then they pull up different options of warranties which would INCREASE my monthly payment by 150 dollars. Not only this the guy told me that the finance company they financed me with (mistake on my part I know) is a easy set up and I shouldn't have any issues. That was another lie. I am not one to complain about a business but I do NOT recommend buying a vehicle from ANY Jeff smith dealership.I bought my car 8 months ago and ever since then they have given us nothing but issues with getting things repaired. I brought my car in just shy of a month ago to get it repaired. We were told it's the transmission. Let me start off by saying when we bought the car we asked multiple times and asked 2 DIFFERENT people about the warranty. Our main concern was us living over and hour away and the car needing to serviced. Both of the people we asked said that it does not matter where we take the car as long as it is a shop. Now that my car is having issues they want to say that because it was not serviced at a Jeff smith location it is not covered. Even though we submitted proof that the car was serviced at a shop. We have been going back and forth with one man in the service department and he could not give us a clear answer on what was going on with getting my car repaired. They also wanted to say that if they were able to make repairs that we would have to pay the diagnostic fee and that they got to decide if they would cover 25%,50%,75%, or 100% of the cost of repairs. We went back and looked in the paperwork they gave us and NOWHERE in the paperwork does it say that they get to pick and choose what percentage they will pay. We took my car up there 2 times not long after I bought it to have warranty work done to it and not one time did I have to pay for a diagnostic fee or anything else. This would not be and issue if they did not tell me to provide proof that the car was serviced. Now here I am with less than 6 weeks before I have a baby and have to worry about getting my car fixed somewhere else after it has been in their shop for almost a month. This is not the first post I've seen made about their service department being crappy. Was forced to tow my vehicle to your dealership (under ford cerifited pre owned warranty roadside assistance ) because it was the closest possible to my house, after I had sudden loss of power and weird noises from the engine bay. Upon pick up was told it was just a hose that popped off, when I test drive the vehicle the same sound was still present that I would consider not normal before the incident. Took my concerns to the service advisor and had a tech ride along with me to duplicate the sound/issue. The tech told me he heared the sound coming from the engine and that it was "normal", I told him it wasn't and asked him show me another similar model that made the same sound. I asked for the service advisor to find me another similar model to duplicate the "normal" sound and he wouldn't. I clearly know the normal sounds of the vehicle I have been driving for months and for the tech and advisor to dismiss my claims as false is a slap in the face to me and my certified pre owned warranty. If I had a choice to have it towed to another ford dealership I would have, however being so far from home this was my "best"/closest option and i will not pay another dealership the ford warranty deductible for another dealership to look at the same issue. They're more than enough ford dealerships in the area I will not be coming back and I recommended you stay away for Jeff smith ford. read more

I ordered my truck on June 15, 2021 at Jeff Smith Ford and sold them my '2020 Tacoma while renting my neighbor's truck during the seven month wait for the Maverick. With joy and excitement I went to the dealer on Thursday 1/20/22 to complete the purchase and take delivery. The salesman went over the numbers, which much to my surprise and dismay included a market adjustment of $5k. Seven months earlier when I placed the order, I was given a Preview Sales Order with a sales price equal to MSRP for the options I selected. I was expecting to pay MSRP. The dealer had me over a barrel, I needed the truck. I'd been driving a rented truck for 7 months. I was stuck. I negotiated them down to a $2,500 market adjustment, but it has taken the joy out of the whole experience. It's nothing but extortion to order a vehicle at one price, then at delivery to be surprised with a market adjustment. The salesman claimed that everyone was paying market adjustments on ordered vehicles. Having been an avid reader of several Maverick groups on Facebook, I knew that wasn't the case and told them so, to no avail. So I paid the $2,500 markup, took delivery and met with the managing partner a week later to discuss my concerns. He, Chris Brock, claimed they had done nothing wrong, yet there are articles about Ford trying to clamp down on the dealer practice of charging mark-ups on pre-orders. My advice is to steer clear of Jeff Smith Ford, or if you do order from them, get it in writing up front whether there will be a mark-up upon delivery. Ford customer service advised me to execute a purchase order next time - it's legally binding on the dealer. read more
